Next month is about to be an exhilarating ride for fans of this critics-approved and award-winning political thriller, seven years after its final broadcast. In a quiet move by Netflix, Scandal, led by Kerry Washington, has been added to the June 2025 lineup in the U.S., according to What's on Netflix, with all seven seasons set to return to the streamer. The ABC series debuted on April 5, 2012, and last aired on April 19, 2018, with its one-hundred-and-twenty-fourth episode, also the Season 7 finale “Over a Cliff,” which garnered more than five million viewers.

On June 17, 2025, Scandal will return to Netflix, five years after being removed from the streamer in May 2020. Netflix first picked up the drama well over a decade ago, with Seasons 1 to 3 added in September 2014 and new seasons arriving every year thereafter shortly after they wrapped up airing. Alina quickly became a fan-favorite, and we're sure she will continue to make a big impact on Season 8.

The series was forced to shut down due to the Coronavirus pandemic, with multiple episodes unproduced.

In order to bring the season to a close, the episode will feature a mix of live-action and animated scenes.

Get the popcorn and wine ready, Hulu subscribers: “Scandal,” Shonda Rhimes’ primetime political drama series, is jumping from Netflix to Hulu later this month.

All seven seasons of “Scandal” — 124 episodes in all — will begin streaming exclusively on Hulu as of May 20, when the show will no longer be on Netflix in the U.S. The series was created by Rhimes and stars Kerry Washington as political fixer Olivia Pope.

The Washington, D.C.-set drama centers around a team of crisis-management operatives who sacrifice their time — and often their ethics — to “handle” unimaginable crises affecting the nation’s elite. Over its seven seasons, “Scandal” storylines have explored political culture, gender disparities, sexual politics and race in America.

“Scandal” was produced by ABC Studios. Rhimes and producing partner Betsy Beers, Mark Fish, Mark Wilding and Tom Verica are executive producers.

“Scandal” aired on ABC from 2012-18 where it was a stalwart ratings driver.

The Actors Fund — the national human services organization that fosters stability and resiliency, and provides a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals over their lifespan — announced today that the cast of ABC’s Scandal will reunite for a one-night-only Live staged reading of the highly-anticipated final episode on Thursday, April 19 — the same night the series finale airs on television!

Finally, all of the cast members are slowly being brought back together onscreen after a brief three-episode split. The first three episodes of this season were good, but they were still a little lacking, namely because everyone had gone their separate directions. “Like Father, Like Daughter” brings everyone under the same roof–though not yet back together–and the episode is stronger for it’s effort, if not for its overall execution.

Since the beginning of season 3, Olivia Pope’s been on a downward spiral. She’s been losing her edge thanks to her parents, her tumultuous relationship with Fitz, and her discovery of B613′s existence. She’s only been a shadow of her former confident and commanding self, and it’s been both disheartening and fascinating to watch our heroine be so thoroughly humanized. But, thanks to “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” Liv’s finally been given a new cause to fight for.
