The latest remake of beloved sitcom The Office features its first female lead, with Felicity Ward starring as the new boss, Hannah Howard. The idea of another remake, and a female-led one at that, has led to certain section of society (otherwise known as sexists) flat-out rejecting the series, as well as resulting in a lot of backlash online. As is sadly the way these days. Now, in an interview with THR, Ward has responded directly to the negative reaction directed at both the show and her in the lead role, saying, Ive been a stand-up comedian for 16 years. Ive had this sh*t before, like that just exists.
I mean, its like everyones asking me Do you feel the pressure? And Ive heard that 40 times in the last week. Are you feeling pressure, Felicity? Are you getting the pressure? What do you think of the pressure? Hows the pressure getting to you?...

Eleventh Doctor actor Matt Smith speaks out on criticisms directed toward Jodie Whittaker and Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor Who tenures, highlighting the power the show still has on audiences. Smith took on the role of the series' leading Time Lord following David Tennant's departure as the Tenth Doctor in 2010, leading the series' through seasons 5-7 and the milestone 50th anniversary celebrations. An old being with a young face nearing the end of his life, the Eleventh Doctor reckoned with letting others in once more, alongside finally facing the shame of his darkest day in the Time War.
Despite almost 14 years passing since his Doctor Who departure, Smith recently shared his appreciation of the show with The Times, alongside his support for both Whittaker and Gatwa's tenures as the Time Lord. A British politician has claimed that casting women in film and TV roles that have traditionally been occupied by men is leaving boys with criminals for role models.
Speaking during a Westminster debate marking International Men’s Day, Conservative Party MP Nick Fletcher linked “female replacements” for roles such as Doctor Who, or the rumoured James Bond casting post-Daniel Craig, has left young men looking up to characters such as Peaky Blinders protagonist Tommy Shelby.
“Is there any wonder we are seeing so many young men committing crime?”, he said in comments that appeared to baffle others involved in the debate.
“There seems to be a call from a tiny, but very vocal, minority that every male character or good role model must have a female replacement,” Fletcher continued. “In recent years we have seen Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, Luke Skywalker, The Equaliser, all replaced by women.”

Sean Penn has made very limited television appearances during his career.
He began his career on Little House on the Prairie and later appeared on Friends and Two and a Half Men, but he's never had a starring role on a television series. That's about to change.

Penn is starring with Natascha McElhone on the upcoming Beau Willimon (House of Cards) drama about the colonization of Mars. We know there is water there and bacterial presence, so why not accept it can support other life -- like ours?
If it's on Hulu and with this cast and creator, we're counting on something spectacular. Everything we know about The First (which is very little) can be found below.
