Thor Unleashes the Lightning and His Inner Bro in New Funko Pop! Split Figure [Exclusive]
Image
After exposing the double lives of Peter Parker and Steve Rogers with their last collectibles, Funko and Target are turning to another Infinity Saga favorite to show what happens when he puts his mighty hammer down. For August, the Marvel Selects line is debuting a new Thor split Pop! figure showing the God of Thunder in both his most powerful and most downtrodden forms. It specifically takes inspiration from Avengers: Endgame, when Bruce Banner and Rocket Raccoon meet a depressed Thor, who is called into battle one more time to stop Thanos and reverse the effects of the Snap. Ahead of its release online and in local Target stores, Collider can offer an exclusive look at the fun new item channeling both lightning and loungewear.

One half of the new split Pop! figure sees Chris Hemsworth's Thor still in his robe and pajamas, a form lovingly known as "Bro Thor.

All 37 MCU Movies Ranked
Image
Most of Marvel Studios’s films are the cinematic equivalent of breadcrumbs, which have been dropped into theaters strategically so as to keep one looking for the next sequel or crossover, when the endless televisual exposition will eventually, theoretically yield an event of actual consequence. Occasionally, however, a Marvel film transcends this impersonality and justifies one’s patience. Weird, stylish, and surprisingly lyrical, Ant-Man, Iron Man 3, and Doctor Strange attest to the benefits of the old Hollywood-style studio system that Marvel has resurrected: Under the umbrella of structure and quota is security, which can bequeath qualified freedom. On the occasion of the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, here’s a ranking of every film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to date. Chuck Bowen

Editor’s Note: This article was originally published on April 25, 2018.

Taika Waititi Remaking Sports Documentary With a Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score Was Worse Than Thor 4
Image
Taika Waititi’s 2023 film Next Goal Wins failed to impress audiences, earning just a 46% critic score—making it an even bigger disappointment than his much-criticized Thor: Love and Thunder. Turns out, Waititi’s movie was a remake of the beloved 2014 sports documentary that had scored a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its emotional storytelling and real-life inspiration.

The original documentary, directed by Mike Brett, followed Dutch coach Thomas Rongen as he attempted the nearly impossible task of transforming the American Samoa soccer team—once known as the world’s worst—into winners. It was raw, touching, and full of hope, which made it an instant hit with critics.

According to critics, Waititi’s remake starring Michael Fassbender leaned too much into island clichés, wasn’t funny enough, and turned a real-life underdog story into a comedy film. It seems the director repeated his Thor 4 mistake and delivered yet another cinematic flop.

Julia Garner Addresses Silver Surfer Uproar as Fantastic Four Nears Release
Julia Garner
Julia Garner says she expected some friction when Marvel confirmed she would play Shalla-Bal—the Silver Surfer’s canonical partner—in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but did not anticipate social-media hashtags demanding a “return” of Norrin Radd. In a series of broadcast and podcast interviews this week, the Emmy winner urged critics to “read the comics,” noting that Shalla-Bal first appeared in 1968 and has herself wielded the Power Cosmic.

While most online complaints centre on the character’s gender swap, some industry analysts argue the pushback reflects fatigue with franchise reinventions rather than sexism alone. Director Matt Shakman, asked about the uproar at a London press junket, responded that the film “honours Silver Surfer lore in multiple ways,” hinting that a traditional incarnation could appear in future stories. He added that Garner’s “haunting” voice performance in a newly released clip—in which she warns Earth of Galactus—tested...

Every Thor Movie Ranked
Image
Thor is an original Avenger. He's also very much so part of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe mix, and we can expect to see him again in "Avengers: Doomsday." Chris Hemsworth's character has shown up over and over again across four of his own movies, a quartet of Avengers flicks, and other one-off appearances. While there is a specific way to watch the Thor movies if you want the chronological experience, Thor's character evolves over time, and several of his best appearances are later in his MCU timeline.

Below, we've rounded up every Thor movie sighting and ranked them. Just for clarity (and relative brevity), we won't include non-movie or multiverse moments like Thor's one-shot appearances or his presence in the "What If...?" and "Loki" series. Instead, we'll focus on movies as we wait to rank his next installment in the upcoming fifth Avengers film. Enjoy!

These MCU Moments Were Too Good For The Movies & Shows They Were In
Image
It doesn't matter what you think about superhero movies; there's no denying that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an incredible feat of storytelling and filmmaking prowess. The film franchise has produced some of the greatest action films of the past few years, including "Iron Man," "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and "Black Panther," though it's not uncommon to hear criticism of the MCU movies after "Avengers: Endgame," given the series' overarching struggle to recapture the magic of the Infinity Saga.

The MCU has, thus far, consisted of nearly 40 films (including 2025's "Thunderbolts*" and "The Fantastic Four: First Steps") and over 25 television series, so it's no surprise there's been a fair share of projects that haven't exactly resonated with audiences. While some of these films deserve more praise in the public eye, there are still good scenes, even those found amid the more unpopular moments in the MCU franchise.

Though this list is far from comprehensive,...

Marvel Confirms Thor's New Love Interest, And It's Going To Change His Story Forever
Image
Marvel’s Thoris about to enter a bold new era, dealing with an entirely new paradigm as the God of Thunder finds himself reborn as a mortal on Earth, and the author behind this striking shift for the classic hero just teased that “a potential new love interest” will have a role to play in his upcoming storyline.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, author Al Ewing played his cards mostly close to the vest when it comes to the upcoming Thor #1, which spins out of the concluding issue of his Immortal Thor run.

According to Ewing, he will be able to more freely discuss the next “act” of his epic Thor saga once Immortal Thor #25 is released, but before then, he was willing to drop a few hints, including the mention of a love story for the character, leaving readers little to speculate on, but lots to get excited about.

Every MCU Movie Ranked from Worst to Best (Updated for Phase 5)
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has reshaped blockbuster cinema with its sprawling web of heroes, villains, and cosmic stakes. Since 2008, it’s delivered thrills, laughs, and heartbreak, but not every film lands with the same punch.

We’ve ranked all 36 MCU movies, from the forgettable to the iconic, including the latest Phase 5 entries. Let’s dive into what makes each film soar or stumble, counting down to the very best.

36. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) Marvel Studios

Quantumania’s messy plot and dodgy CGI sink what could’ve been a bold kickoff for Phase 5. Scott Lang’s Quantum Realm adventure feels like a theme park ride gone wrong.

Jonathan Majors’ Kang had potential, but the film’s tonal whiplash and wasted cast, including Bill Murray, make it the MCU’s lowest point. It’s a rare miss we’d rather forget.

35. The Incredible Hulk (2008) Marvel Studios

Bruce Banner’s solo outing...

Which MCU Actors Have Won The Oscars? (Photo Credit – Wikipedia)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is best known for its visual spectacles, record-breaking box office numbers, and storylines that span galaxies. But beneath the CGI battles and billion-dollar spectacles lies a cast filled with some of Hollywood’s most acclaimed actors. While comic book films were once dismissed as genre fare unworthy of critical recognition, Marvel flipped the script by assembling a lineup of performers whose talent had already been validated by the industry’s highest honor: the Academy Award.

These aren’t just actors playing superheroes; they’re Oscar winners who brought gravitas, complexity, and character depth to roles that could have easily been one-dimensional. From long-established legends to surprising supporting players, the MCU is quietly stacked with gold, figuratively and literally. What’s especially striking is the sheer variety among these Oscar-winning performers. Some won decades ago, long...

Chris Hemsworth’s 15-Year Thor Tribute Outshined This MCU Film Amid Exit Panic
Image
Chris Hemsworth’s official YouTube channel posted a tribute to Thor’s 15-year journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which caused widespread panic among fans. Just weeks before, Hemsworth was the first name that was revealed to be a part of Avengers: Doomsday‘s ginormous cast of characters.

Fans, given that the video was titled ‘Thank You! The Legacy of Thor‘, believed that this was Chris Hemsworth bidding adieu to the character. However, Hemsworth, in the description of the same video, has confirmed that he is still very much slated to be part of Avengers: Doomsday. However, what is ironic is that this one video was actually able to get fans more emotionally invested in seeing Thor than the last entry in the IP did.

Thor's future plans in the MCU reportedly revealed (and they are huge)
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole came to be thanks to the bravery of six unexpected heroes. History was made the moment Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, Hawkeye, Captain America, and Thor united to defeat Loki and the Chitauri forces during the events of The Avengers. Ever since that day, audiences have been on an unforgettable journey in which they've watched these characters grow, go on standalone adventures, get new costumes, and eventually assemble yet again to save half of the life in the universe. Unfortunately, we've also had to bid our farewells to some of them.

Out of the six starting Avengers, only three stand. Hulk has been aiding his cousin Jennifer Walters in controlling her newfound powers in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, while Clint Barton acted as Kate Bishop's mentor during the events of Hawkeye. So what about the God of Thunder? Well, he's...

John Krasinski & Natalie Portman's New Apple Adventure Movie Debuts With Disappointing Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
John Krasinski and Natalie Portman's new Apple TV+ adventure movie debuts with a disappointing Rotten Tomatoes score. The former is widely known as Jim Halpert from The Office. From there, he leveraged that fame into one of his passion projects – co-writing, directing, and starring in the post-apocalyptic horror movie A Quiet Place, followed by writing and directing its sequel, A Quiet Place Part II. Recently, Krasinski has opted for more family-friendly fare – including writing, directing, a voicing a role in the fantasy comedy If.

On the other hand, Portman is widely recognizable as Padmé from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. From there, she went on to become one of the most acclaimed actresses of her class, earning three Academy Award nominations for Closer, Jackie, and winning one for her performance as a troubled ballerina in Black Swan. Portman also has a strong track record in action movies, from her...

Marvel’s ‘X-Men’ Reboot Continues a Sneaky ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Trend With Its Working Title
Image
Woah! Marvel Studios is setting the wheels in motion for its highly anticipated X-Men Reboot, and they have already pulled the ultimate move straight from the Spider-Man: No Way Home playbook. It has been revealed that the project’s working title is “Chunnel,” which has sparked curiosity and anticipation among fans and insiders.

As a clever move, “Serenity Now” was used for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Working titles are always unrelated, but might hide some subtle clues. Is it just a metaphor? Or simply a diversion to keep the plot details under wraps? But for now, one thing is clear – Marvel Studios is repeating its successful formula yet again, and fans should be paying attention to that.

The working title is not just a codename!

Marvel’s use of the title “Chunnel” is more than just a title or a label. It can be a window to the film’s deeper plots.

Chris Hemsworth, our beloved Thor of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stands at an impressive height of 6ft 3 inches, which is about 190 cm. Which MCU Characters Lifted Thor’s Mjolnir? ( Photo Credit – Facebook; X )

Mjolnir is perhaps the most iconic weapon used by any superhero in the MCU. Forged in the heart of a dying star, it is more than a weapon. It’s a test. Odin’s enchantment, “Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor,” makes it a selective tool, only usable by those who pass an invisible moral standard.

While it spent much of its time in Thor’s hands, a few notable characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have lifted it or fought with its powers. From emotional reveals to jaw-dropping action scenes, these moments reshaped how audiences understood heroism, worthiness, and the evolving mythology of Asgard.

As Mjolnir’s rightful wielder, Thor Odinson has had the longest and most profound bond with the hammer. Initially arrogant and impulsive, Thor was stripped...

Marvel is reportedly moving forward with the sequel we all want to see
Image
It would be an understatement to say that anticipation is at an all-time high for Earth's Mightiest Heroes to make an explosive comeback in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. But while all eyes are set on these two epic crossovers, there are even more stories awaiting behind them. The Marvel Cinematic Universe shows no signs of slowing down, and fans wonder what their next phase will be about. Could we finally get stand-alone projects centered on the X-Men? Will the supernatural take over as the Midnight Suns steal the spotlight? Will we ever see The Eternals 2?

The third phase of the MCU will kick-start after Avengers: Secret Wars, and so far, we have no clue what its overarching narrative will look like or who will get to be a part of it. After all, many are expected to bite the dust once Doom arrives and the Multiverse collapses — especially those...

MCU Movies Ranked: From Iron Man to Thunderbolts*
Image
With more than 15 years and 30 movies behind it, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still doing alright. Across this cavalcade of almost three dozen movies are a wide variety of iconic superheroes, grand stories, impressive visual tapestries, and the occasional entry that manages to be just “not bad.” We all have our rankings for the very best and the very worst of the Marvel series, but now JoBlo officially has the MCU movies ranked from Iron Man to the newly released Thunderbolts*. Here we go, from least to best:

Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

Director Taika Waititi harnessed the mighty power of Chris Hemsworth’s sense of humor and blended it with his own colorful sensibilities for the hilarious, character-reviving Thor: Ragnarok. All eyes were on the sequel, Thor: Love and Thunder, especially given it would see the return of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster (taking on the mantle of Mighty Thor). Sadly,...

10 Worst Cameos In Marvel Movies & TV Shows
Image
Marvel Studios ruled the cinematic landscape from 2008 until around 2019, thanks in no small part to the novelty of its shared universe, a concept every film studio tried and failed to mimic. Beginning with Jon Favreau's "Iron Man," the Marvel Cinematic Universe successfully propelled popular heroes and villains to the big screen, culminating with enormous blockbuster events in the form of "Avengers" movies, not to mention standout hits like Ryan Coogler's "Black Panther" and Jon Watts' "Spider-Man: No Way Home."

More impressively, the MCU made frequent use of the ultimate gimmick: cameos, often arising during mid-credit scenes, which usually introduced or teased new characters like Thanos (Josh Brolin) and the Collector (Benicio del Toro), who would often go on to play vital roles in later pictures. In fact, one could argue the MCU took off due to Samuel L. Jackson's surprising appearance as Nick Fury in "Iron Man.

MCU Canonically Refers to ‘Star Wars,’ And Somehow Nobody Noticed This Galaxy-Sized Plot Hole
Image
There aren’t too many things binding the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the Star Wars galaxy. Apart from the fact that the parent companies of both these IPs co-exist under the Walt Disney umbrella. But as anyone could tell, Lucasfilm and Marvel are far more connected than just through ownership.

Now, this isn’t as simple as a Death Star Easter egg in Spider-Man or a cheesy Obi-Wan Kenobi reference from Phil Coulson. Instead, we must look at something called the celebrity paradox.

When a character’s pop culture presence breaks through into other worlds because the actor exists in our minds as someone else from a different universe, that is a celebrity paradox. And no place is this paradox louder than two of Disney’s biggest franchises in the 21st century.

The MCU Spider-Man loves Star Wars, but that’s only the celebrity paradox Ned with the Lego Death...

Why Did Natalie Portman Leave The Thor Franchise Before Love & Thunder? Here’s What We Know

Here’s Why Natalie Portman Decided To Exit From Thor Franchise!(Photo Credit –Instagram)

Natalie Portman’s exit from the Thor franchise after The Dark World had fans scratching their heads. The actress, who played Jane Foster, had been a key part of the Asgardian saga until she mysteriously disappeared in Thor: Ragnarok. While some thought it was just a cosmic shift or creative differences, the truth is a little juicier. The real reason?

It all boils down to a behind-the-scenes drama involving a director shake-up. Portman was initially on board for the sequel due to Patty Jenkins’ direction, but when Jenkins was replaced, Portman felt slighted and, well, decided to take a step back. However, don’t fret, Mighty Thor made a triumphant return in Love and Thunder! Talk about a comeback!

10 Most-Watched Movie Trailers in the First 24 Hours After Its Release
Image
Teasers and trailers are like appetizers that make the audience hungry for the main course. More than just announcements, good trailers become events that start discussions among audiences. Studios spend their millions in producing these brief promotional videos as they form a crucial part of movie marketing strategies.

Every promotional move depends on when and where it appears. A trailer shown during the annual Super Bowl broadcast will instantly receive millions of eyeballs. Studios often want to strike viewers exactly when they are hyped up or chilling with family. The effectiveness of smart marketing strategies can make or break that first impression.

Disney is often seen dominating the trailer market through its superhero releases. The Marvel Cinematic Universe directly or indirectly urges audiences to keep up with every new installment. Other cinema production companies also organize their own trailer launches, which...

Natalie Portman's $329 Psychological Horror Movie Lands a New Streaming Home Next Month
Image
Black Swan, Natalie Portman's psychological horror film directed by Darren Aronofsky, will soon have a new streaming home. The movie will be available on Hulu from April 1.

Black Swan sees Portman starring as Nina Sayers, a committed ballerina for the New York City Ballet company's production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. As she finds herself struggling to achieve perfection with the leading role as Odette, Nina begins to suffer from stress and soon finds herself losing her grip on reality. Mila Kunis starred opposite Portman as Lily, the Black Swan Odile -- an experienced ballerina who transferred in, with Nina viewing her as an extreme threat.

Other Black Swan cast members include Winona Ryder as a star prima ballerina forced to retire, Sebastian Stan as Andrew and Barbara Hershey as Nina's overprotective mother. The psychological thriller chronicled Nina's instability as she dealt with being on the brink of stardom, with Aronofsky exploring themes of perfectionism,...

MCU fans assemble for Disney Cruise Line’s Marvel Day at Sea
Image
Disney cruises tend to offer shorter expeditions compared to other cruise lines and, therefore, some of the briefest trips on their fleet do not have space to fit Marvel Day at Sea on the itinerary. The vacation company does make it easy for Marvel fans by designating which of their vacations celebrate Marvel Day at Sea. Anyone familiar with cruising may know that a “sea day” is when the ship does not dock at a port to let guests off at a destination. Disney selects a single sea day as their Marvel Day at Sea. So, what can Avenger enthusiasts look forward to on this Marvel-lous day?

Strange Academy: A Spellbinding Spectacular

Most cruises put on a live show every day in their largest theaters. Some nights, Disney cruisers may watch a revival of "Beauty and the Beast" or the Disney Cruise Line original "The Golden Mickeys", yet on Marvel Day,...

The New Captain America's Disappointing Reception Is Actually Part of a 10-Year-Old Problematic Marvel Trend
Image
Quick LinksMarvel's Most Controversial Era Was the Wrong Basis for the MCUSam Wilson Had No Lead-Up to Becoming Captain AmericaGuardians of the Galaxy Was an Exception, Not the Rule

Captain America: Brave New Worldhas now been out for a few weeks, and the movie's fate may already be sealed. While it had a more than respectable opening weekend, its tepid-at-best reviews have yielded a box office intake that may see it end up flopping. Unfortunately, this cements many current issues with Marvel Studios, especially when it comes to Sam Wilson.

Making Sam Wilson into the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new Captain America emulates the largely unsuccessful "All-New, All-Different" era of Marvel Comics, making the decision incredibly questionable. The character's transition into the role was even more haphazard than it was in the comics, which may have impacted viewer reception. Furthermore, it seems that Marvel Studios is now unable to get its...

11 worst Marvel movies ever made, ranked
Image
The superheroes of Marvel Comics have been headlining movies for decades. We're not just talking about the last few decades, either, when the Marvel Cinematic Universe came to fruition. The juggernaut franchise, created by Marvel Studios, has broken every box office record there is to break, grossing a collective $31 billion (and counting!) in the years since its 2008 inception with Iron Man. 35 movies into that franchise, it shows no signs of slowing down.

But again, the heroes of Marvel Comics were on our screens long before that, with beloved characters like Spider-Man and the X-Men flying the flag for comic book movies at a time when there weren't all that many. And, before that, Captain America was headlining his own TV movies, while Man-Thing became a horror legend.

Even in today's day and age, Marvel Studios doesn't make all of the movies involving Marvel characters. 20th Century Fox produced the Fantastic Four...

The MCU Needs to Bring Back This One Beloved Trope
Image
Quick LinksLove and Romance in the Marvel Cinematic UniverseRomance Is Both Smart Storytelling and a Good Business DecisionSome of Marvel's Biggest Multiverse Saga Hits Have Had Strong RomanceRomance Stories Could Help Marvel Regain Audiences BackWays the MCU Can Correct This

As someone who is a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is one issue I have with the franchise that has been growing over the years: where is the romance? This mainly came to my mind while watching the latest MCU movie, Captain America: Brave New World. One of the new supporting characters in the film, Leila Taylor, portrayed by Xosha Roquemore, is one of Sam Wilson's romantic interests in Marvel Comics. Sam Wilson describes her as a friend, and the movie paints it as nothing more, not an ounce of romantic tension.

Meanwhile, actress Rosa Salazar was cast as the Serpent Society member Diamondback but was later cut from the film.

When Chris Hemsworth’s Son Picked Another Superhero Over Thor: Even The God of Thunder Couldn’t Sway Him!
Image
Chris Hemsworth Son Superman (Photo Credit – Facebook)

Chris Hemsworth might wield Mjolnir on screen, but at home, he faced a tiny but mighty superhero preference crisis. The Thor: Love and Thunder star recently shared an amusing Instagram post revealing that his seven-year-old son doesn’t see the God of Thunder as the ultimate hero. Instead, he has his sights set on DC’s caped crusader.

“Holding my little man’s hand and asking him the age-old question, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’” Hemsworth wrote. “‘Dad, I wanna be Superman.’ Lucky I have two other kids.”

The post featured a cute pic of Hemsworth walking with his son, who proudly donned Superman’s signature red cape. Judging by Hemsworth’s long locks and casual set attire, the pic appeared to be taken on the set of Thor: Love and Thunder, filmed in Australia.

Quick LinksThe Hulk Has Been in a Bad Place For Some TimeBrave New World Puts the Hulk in an Even Worse Position"Saving" the Hulk Can Only Be Done By Returning to His Roots

This article contains mild spoilers for Captain America: Brave New World, in theaters now.

When The Incredible Hulk was released in 2008, I remember immediately falling in love with how it balanced so many inspirations behind the character. From the man on the run narrative that came from the TV show to him being hunted by Ross with technology unlike anything the world had seen, it was clear that the movie knew what worked with the character but also left a lot on the table for things to grow. But, what I didn't know was that seeing the Hulk explode back onto the big screen would be the start of a slow decline that has, unfortunately, made...

Star Wars legend reportedly cut from Disney Plus show
Image
It goes without saying at this point that the Star Wars movie series is one of the biggest in the history of Hollywood. Heck, it's been that way for decades. If you weren't onboard after watching the original 1977 film, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, you absolutely were when the credits rolled on critically-acclaimed 1982 sequel The Empire Strikes Back. Flash forward five decades and the Star Wars domination continues.

After a cinematic hiatus, the franchise is returning to the silver screen in 2026 with The Mandalorian and Grogu, but it has never been far from our screens anyway, as the Lucasfilm saga has carried on in the form of multiple Disney Plus shows. And those Disney Plus shows are the reason that this upcoming film exists, as The Mandalorian is where we first met the titular characters.

One of the best aspects of the shows has been their abilities...

12 MCU characters who need their own Disney Plus show
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is packed with a score of characters who more than deserve their own Disney Plus show.

The MCU franchise has been known for a lot of great supporting characters. Some are drawn from the comics, while others are more original, but they all shine nicely, adding to the narrative in ways that are often unexpected. Some are able to rise up thanks to the actors, while others sadly don’t get the attention they should. Thankfully, with Disney Plus expanding the horizons of the shared universe with so many new TV shows over the past few years, there are more opportunities for folks to rise up and get some of that long-overdue spotlight.

It’s tricky to decide which ones would thrive in that spotlight, however, as some characters really are better when they aren't the main focus. We loved Luis in the Ant-Man movies, but...

10 MCU Movie Moments We Desperately Wish Were In Other Films Instead
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have the best intentions, but the series doesn't always do a good job at balancing when certain events and characters should appear, and in what movie. As a crossover superhero franchise, it's no secret that the MCU is full of crossover appearances that combine various characters and events into single films. While the series did a good job balancing this at the beginning, as things became more and more bloated, certain storylines crop up way too early or late in the MCU timeline.

In most cases, the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduces important characters at the wrong time altogether, swapping around classic villains long associated with certain heroes in the comics for one of their peers. The upcoming Captain America: Brave New World's use of Red Hulk as the villain of a Captain America movie is a perfect example, though the sticky legal situation regarding...

Marvel Admitted A Major Loophole That Could Bring Back Scarlet Witch In The MCU And Agatha All Along Season 2 Is The Perfect Opportunity To Explore It
Image
Thanks to an ambiguous detail, Agatha All Along set the stage for Scarlet Witch's MCU return in a potential second season of Agatha Harkness' solo show thanks to one ambiguous detail. Scarlet Witch's MCU story apparently came to an end in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where Wanda Maximoff sacrificed her life to stop herself from causing more chaos across the multiverse. Since then, Scarlet Witch's legacy has been explored through her son Billy Maximoff a.k.a. Wiccan and her WandaVision nemesis Agatha Harkness, both of whom starred in Phase 5's Agatha All Along.

Scarlet Witch was still at the peak of her popularity in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and she still hasn't starred in many of her comic book counterpart's storylines in the MCU. Theories about Wanda Maximoff's resurrection abound, as death is often not permanent, neither in the MCU nor in the source material.

10 Dream Movie Castings That Turned Into Nightmares
Image
Sometimes, the casting of a notable name can look astounding on paper, but ends up being a complete disaster when the film is eventually released. Many of the best actors of all time have dark spots on their résumé that leave viewers scratching their heads and wondering how such a great actor ended up giving such a lackluster performance in a movie that left a lot to be desired. While this can be disappointing, it also signals the actor is taking a risk, and one of the biggest keys to success is being willing to fail.

Plenty of great actors have been in terrible movies, and this shouldn’t necessarily destroy their legacy. Like in any profession, Hollywood actors have their ups and downs, and across the history of a long and fruitful career, the failures can be just as important and interesting as the hits. While all these movie...

10 Marvel Characters Who Died and Actually Stayed Dead... Seriously
Image
Whether it be Marvel or any other comic publisher, death is frequently treated as an impermanent narrative device meant to compel the plot or characters forward. However, its impermanence threatens to steal the real meaning of death in a story. When a character or their loved one is gone, that’s supposed to be it. The trauma, grief, and sadness can motivate those around them to accomplish impossible feats.

As morbid as it sounds, fortunately, some Marvel characters never come back. Some have been gone for decades. When these characters departed the world of the living, each left behind a shock wave of impact, changing the lives and destinies of other Marvel characters forever. Their deaths mean something because they aren’t coming back. It can be hard and hurtful to see your favorite heroes and villains finally bite the dust, but their deaths often serve a greater storytelling purpose.

Thor Got His Strongest MCU Power Yet 7 Years Ago Without Knowing According To 1 Phase 3 Theory
Image
One MCU theory explores the moment that Thor unknowingly got his strongest power yet, and it answers many questions about his character. As an Asgardian, the God of Thunder’s unique set of skills has been an asset to the Avengers since he first joined the team in the 2012 film. Thor has since experienced plenty of change in his life, from his stint using Stormbreaker to the return and subsequent loss of Jane Foster. However, one of the biggest changes for the character may be in a power that he has already unknowingly acquired.

The Odin Force is the power used by the Kings of Asgard, most notably Thor’s father Odin. When the leader dies, it’s believed to be passed on to the next in line for the throne. Thor was inevitably going to become the ruler of Asgard and as a result, inherit the Odin Force. However,...
