One of my all-time favorite movies is Date Night, and a huge part of why it was so funny is because Tina Fey and Steve Carell starred as married couple Claire and Phil Foster. Well, we get to see them reunite onscreen once again in a new project, Netflix series The Four Seasons!

This time around the two don't play a couple, but they are a part of the same tight-knit friend group. The series doesn't have a release date yet, though it is confirmed for a 2025 release on Netflix. There will be a total of 8 episodes. Plus, the streamer revealed some first-look images of Fey and Carell, as well as the rest of the star-studded cast!

As you can see in the photo above, The Four Seasons stars Will Forte, Colman Domingo, and Marco Calvani. There's also Superstore actress Kerri Kenney and Girls5eva's Erika Henningsen who are part of the cast.

Decades before shows like "Search Party" took an ever-shifting approach to the comedic TV format, "Laverne & Shirley" was switching things up season after season. The "Happy Days" spinoff started with a pretty consistent premise in its early seasons, focusing on two zany roommates working at a Milwaukee bottling company. By season 5, though, tomboy Laverne (Penny Marshall) and optimist Shirley (Cindy Williams) ended up in the Army Reserves, and season 6 saw them move to Burbank and work as department store gift wrappers. By the final season, Shirley was gone, and Laverne was working in the aerospace industry.

Cindy Williams, who played the perky, positive Shirley in the hit ’70s sitcom “Laverne & Shirley,” has died, the Associated Press reported Monday. She was 75.

According to the Associated Press, Williams’ children Zak and Emily Hudson confirmed the news through a statement to the publication. Williams reportedly passed away in Los Angeles on Wednesday, following a short illness.

“The passing of our kind, hilarious mother, Cindy Williams, has brought us insurmountable sadness that could never truly be expressed,” the statement to the AP reads. “Knowing and loving her has been our joy and privilege. She was one of a kind, beautiful, generous and possessed a brilliant sense of humor and a glittering spirit that everyone loved.”

Penny Marshall, who went from starring on the smash Happy Days spinoff Laverne & Shirley to helming such features including Big and A League of Their Own, died Monday night of diabetes complications at her home in the Hollywood Hills. She was 75.

Marshall also directed films including Riding in Cars with Boys, The Preacher’s Wife, Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Renaissance Man, which she also produced along with League of Their Own. She was in postproduction on a feature about basketball Hall of Famer and Kim Jong-un pal Dennis Rodman.

Laverne & Shirley was an out-of-the-box smash after premiere in January 1976 on ABC. The characters appeared on briefly on Happy Days — which was created by her brother Garry Marshall — but made enough of an impression to lead their own series. She’s baaaaaack (almost)!

After a three-month maternity leave, Savannah Guthrie will return to her spot co-hosting NBC’s Today on March 3, the NBC morning show announced on Wednesday.

Guthrie, 45, gave birth to son Charles “Charly” Max Feldman on Dec. 8. It’s her second child with husband Michael Feldman. The couple also share a 2-year-old daughter, Vale.

Of course, Guthrie’s appeared on Today a few times during her maternity leave — calling in to the show to gush about Charyl’s first Christmas and swinging by on Jan. 8 for a surprise appearance at Matt Lauer‘s 20th anniversary celebration.

Date Night

The Data Night extravaganza of Claire and Phil Foster, a suburban New Jersey couple, can be summed up as algedonic and well, somewhat romantic too. The movie starring the two comic juggernauts of television, Steve Carell and Tina Fey, boasts abundant action, excitement and suspense. It is an exceedingly delightful saga of a normal and unassuming couple whose romantic life is at a standstill and the sizzle of their marriage gone; they decide to hit a fancy restaurant in downtown New York to mend their fractured quotidian existence. But the landscape of their ordinary fate takes an uncanny turn when the Fosters are mistaken for another couple – Mr. and Mrs. Tripplehorn – and there begins an amusing odyssey involving corrupt officials, wild car rides, strip club dancing drive, a flash drive and a shirtless Mark Wahlberg as Holbrooke who reluctantly assists them in their pursuit to get through the dusky intact.

Steve Carell and Tiny Fey perform in the roles of Phil Foster and Claire Foster respectively, a tax lawyer and a real estate agent who describe themselves as a "boring New Jersey couple." Trouble is that Tina Fey.s character in Shawn Levy.s "Date Night" is hampered by Josh Klausner.s by-the-numbers script making Ms. Fey herself only slightly less vapid than Sarah Palin. There is some merit in the film: a critic could grudgingly concede that it would make the grade as a date movie, but otherwise even if you.re a regular fan of Saturday Night Live, you may find that the caricatures of cops, criminals and especially an African -American cab driver are alarmingly obvious. "Date Night" has some laughs and one of the better car chases of any modern romantic comedy, but even at an economical 88 minutes and despite its moving along briskly offers limited entertainment value.

Morrow and I had one of the bad kinds of Date Night experiences – the one where your time together ends with the girl checking into the Betty Ford Clinic, or shaving her head and trying to be a monk. Amazing, however, that this could have been spurred by a movie that starred Steve Carell and Tina Fey, some of the funniest people in showbiz today. What went wrong? How could these naturally entertaining people make a movie that doesn’t remind us of this scientific fact?

I had a great time at Date Night. You would be hard pressed to find more likable leads than Tina Fey and Steve Carrell, who have great chemistry together as boring New Jersey couple Claire and Phil Foster. Stuck in a serious domestic rut that many of you will recognize all too well, the two decide to shake up their usual date night of frequenting the same restaurant and ordering the same dishes on the same night every week.

Plot: Claire and Phil Foster (Tina Fey and Steve Carell) are a suburban New Jersey couple simply walking through their marriage like it’s a routine. Phil decides to take Claire out in the city to rekindle the marriage. When they’re mistaken for another couple, suddenly their lives are at stake, involving cops, mobsters and a shirtless man.

Who’S It For? Without a doubt, this one is obvious, you’re going to see it coming … this one is for married couples. The other audience will simply consist of people looking to see Carell and Fey at the top of their game.

Expectations: This is one of those films I was hoping for. I wasn’t hoping it would be good.

Leighton Meester may only land a supporting role in "Date Night", but she managed to turn heads when attending the comedy film's New York premiere on Tuesday, April 6. Hitting the red carpet rolled down in front of Ziegfeld Theatre, the 23-year-old looked lovely in her Giambattista Vali dress which sports fringe detailing on the back.

The "Gossip Girl" beauty completed her look with Cathy Waterman jewels and a pair of strappy Phi shoes. On the red carpet, she joined co-stars Tina Fey and Steve Carell, whose on-screen kids she babysits in the movie. She also struck some poses with Common who portrays Detective Collins.

Several other cast members also didn't missed out on the special screening event. Among them were Taraji P. Henson and Jonathan Morgan. Producer/director Shawn Levy also stepped out for the premiere. 20th Century Fox has invited celebrities to "Date Night" premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City on Tuesday, April 6 before dropping the movie in U.S. theaters on April 9. From Hollywood stars, including the cast members, to sportswoman and TV personality, they were seen showing up that night.

Putting on a simple black-and-blue dress, Tina Fey posed alongside her on-screen husband Steve Carell on the red carpet. Leighton Meester, who has a supporting role in the romantic comedy, also stole people's attention with her lovely appearance. Other actors such as Common, Taraji P. Henson and Jonathan Morgan also came to the special screening.

Later, Hugh Jackman was also pictured at the premiere, followed by Fey's co-stars in "30 Rock" Alec Baldwin and Jane Krakowski. Celebrity chef Rachael Ray, "90210" actor Tristan Wilds as well as tennis player Serena Williams were additionally seen among the guests.

Garry Marshall recently got some press after talking about a Laverne & Shirley movie, based on his popular sitcom. After hearing that Marshall wanted Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel as stars, we then heard Jamie Foxx was writing the script. Now we hear there's no truth to Foxx's involvement at all.

Laverne & Shirley, a spin-off of Marshall's Happy Days, stars Marshall's sister, Penny Marshall, and Cindy Williams in the iconic roles as two brewery bottle cappers. Each episode begins with one of the most famous opening sequences of all time, with the stars walking down the street reciting, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Schlemiel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated!" Alongside them are David L. Lander, Michael McKean, Eddie Mekka, Phil Foster, Betty Garrett, and Leslie Easterbrook.

The series ended the season Williams left, although they tried to keep it going without her.

Debuted by MTV, the first snippet sees Tina Fey and Steve Carell who have to witness Mila Kunis and James Franco making out when they visit the young pair's apartment to seek help. Kunis and Franco, however, try to save themselves and are ready to escape instead of helping the married couple.

I was overjoyed when it was first announced that Steve Carell and Tina Fey would be joining forces for Date Night. To see NBC’s comedy superstars bounce off each other at feature length sounds wonderful to me, even if said bouncing is directed by Shawn Levy of Night at the Museum/Pink Panther/Cheaper by the Dozen fame. But the trailer was pretty underwhelming. It’s peppered with some good lines, but seems overwhelmed by its action-comedy plot: Fey and Carell play a married couple whose date night turns is plagued by gangsters and car chases after a case of mistaken identity.

But comic timing can be ruined by the rules of trailer editing. Luckily, Yahoo! Movies has posted a three minute clip, an undoubtedly better representation of the film. The clip features Mark Wahlberg, and the interplay between the three is exactly what I was hoping for upon the first announcement.
