As Tommy, he had been on the "Power Rangers" series longer than any other Ranger.

Jason was unable to attend the funeral of his Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993) costar Thuy Trang (who died suddenly as a result of a car accident near Bakersfield, California) because he was busy teaching at a martial arts school in Houston, Texas. He nonetheless sent his heartfelt condolences to the Trang family.

When filming Power Rangers he liked to pull pranks on the set. One involved kissing Amy Jo Johnson under mistletoe for the filming of a Christmas episode, but during one take he pulled his pants down on camera.

He cut off his iconic pony tail and in recent years sported spiky green hair, the green was supposed to represent his Green Ranger role from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993).
