Action Point Review
Johnny Knoxville is getting older. He knows it too. The one-time (and perhaps perpetual) Jackass is close to hitting 50. His youth is fading behind him. He’s nearer to his old-man persona than the recluse provocateur he was two/three decades earlier. And the thing is, Johnny Knoxville isn’t in denial. Adulthood might not come gradually for the man, but it’s coming. His glory days have dwindled. He isn’t going to be performing too many stunts in the near future — unless he seriously wants to get hurt. Action Point isn’t merely another studio comedy from the stunt-man entertainer; it’s the last hurrah. It’s a twinkle-eyed remembrance to the days of yesteryear, glittered by nostalgia and a smidgen of remorse, but by no means regret. His reckless youth is both no longer in fashion and the inspiration for thousands of idiots on YouTube. His relevance is dated.

‘Action Point’ Trailer And First Look Images Revealed!
Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for the upcoming action-comedy, ‘Action Point’. The film centers around Johnny Knoxville‘s D.C., who owns a low-rent amusement park. After D.C.’s ammunsment park is threatened to go out of business by the opening of a spiffy new rival park, D.C. and his teenage daughter pull out all the stops to keep their park alive. There’s plenty of great moments in the trailer, but it really feels like a potentially great funny combination of ‘Jackass‘ and ‘Bad Grandpa‘.

The film will be directed by Tim Kirkby and produced by Knoxville, Bill Gerber and Derek Freda. It is based on a story by Knoxville, Freda, John Altschuler, Dave Kinsky and Mike Judge, with a screenplay by Altschuler and Kinsky. In addition to Knoxville, ‘Action Point‘ will star Chris Pontius, Dan Bakkedahl, Matt Schulze, Eleanor Worthington-Cox, Johnny Pemberton, Brigette Lundy-Paine,...

Johnny Knoxville Presents Bad Grandpa In Mexico, Talks Spike Jonze's Deleted Character
Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa opens in Mexico until next week (11/29) but Johnny Knoxville already visited the city to support the release. Together with director Jeff Tremaine, producer Derek Freda and co-star Jackson Nicoll, Knoxville met with the press for a short conference and, actually, leaved all the crazy fun for another time. There was no bad grandpa makeup or anything weird, just a regular 18-minute talk with Knoxville and Tremaine as protagonists. The most interesting subject discussed was co-writer Spike Jonze's character, which didn't make the final cut of Bad Grandpa and most likely will be seen on the Blu-Ray. In the gallery below you can read more about Knoxville, Jonze and Bad Grandpa with the top quotes from the Mexico City press conference! Jackass Presents:...

Ryan Dunn tribute: Johnny Knoxville and MTV to remember 'Jackass' star
MTV announced Friday that they plan to air a one-hour special devoted to "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn, who died in a horrific accident while driving drunk in June. Dunn was 34.

The tribute will reflect on Dunn's childhood in Ohio as well as his years of mischief with "Jackass" star and best friend Bam Margera and his untimely death in the crash which also killed his passenger. It will include commentary and accounts from Margera, Johnny Knoxville, Rob Dyrdek, Wee Man, Chris Pontius, Jeff Tremaine, and more.

"It's a surreal thing to undertake, doing a tribute to our brother Ryan's life. I still can't believe he's gone, but we wouldn't trust anyone else with this, so we are doing the best we can for Ryan, his family, friends and everyone who loved him," Knoxville says in a statement. He and Tremaine are executive-producing the hour along with Spike Jonze and Derek Freda.

Bam Margera
Jackass Number Two
Bam Margera
It didn't seem possible, but Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Wee Man and company might just have cooked up a sequel that's even wilder, funnier, extra-depraved and more gag-inducing than the seemingly incomparable "Jackass the Movie".

But whether or not it goes down in cinema history as "The Godfather: Part II" of self-mutilation documentaries, "Jackass Number Two" -- aptly named given an even greater obsession with bodily fluids -- ensures that the screams of laughter come fast and furious in this frat boy's fever dream of a circus sideshow.

While the uninitiated should probably keep their distance -- this one's definitely goosing the boundaries of its R rating -- the appreciative fan base that helped make the original one of Paramount's most profitable pictures of 2002 is certain to put a big smile on Sumner Redstone's face when the opening weekend figures start pouring in.

Granted, nothing quite matches the inspired novelty of the repeated downing of those giant mounds of wasabi or the totaled rental car return that were among the highlights of the first, too-hot-for-TV, big-screen edition, but director Jeff Tremaine and his resident Jackasses have kept the overall consistency of the bits higher, while pushing it all along at an appropriately breakneck pace.

Again, raging bulls, slithering reptiles, scary inanimate objects and High Voltage meet up with dangling personal extremities to outrageous effect, but even as one wonders if they might have crossed over a line (or two) during, say, a sequence involving the "milking" of a primed stallion, resisting laughter remains futile.

Here as before the secret to their surprising cross-gender appeal is that Knoxville and the boys like to keep their gleefully juvenile pranks all in the family. Most of the time, the ones being punk'd are part of the Jackass inner circle, and despite all the nasty welts and burns and expulsion of various forms of matter, there's seldom an overt meanness to their antics or even a whiff of the pervasive sexism, racism or homophobia that have become part and parcel of the usual shock comedy experience.

Also coming back for more are Tony Hawk, Rip Taylor and Bam's hapless mom and dad. Directors John Waters and Spike Jonze, who's one of the producers, also join in on the fun, with Jonze donning a pair of perilously pendulous prosthetics to play a very old lady with an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.

There's even enough money left in the budget for a big closing number that pays homage to bigger-than-life movie musicals; it doesn't really deliver the anticipated goods but nevertheless gives rise to the notion of an all-Jackass Oscar ceremony.

It would be worth it just for the gift bags.
