Weirdest Amazon Prime Movies
Image
Amazon Prime Video has an array of great movies, from recent hits like Top Gun: Maverick to classics like Shrek and Good Will Hunting. While these are films that are sure to please a demanding audience, the streaming service also has a wide range of options for viewers. Quirky movies, for instance, are perfect entertainment for those looking for something absurd to watch.

Some of the weirdest movies on Amazon, like Burning and The Vast of Night, are thought-provoking and clever, leaving the audience with an odd but entertaining plot. On the other hand, dark comedies like Come To Daddy and Rubber are so strange it's hard for the audience to look away (even if they want to). These Amazon films are the best editions to the weird collection of strange but enticing storylines.

Review: Troll Hunter
This is the Pure Movies review of Troll Hunter (Trolljegeren), directed by André Øvredal and starring Otto Jespersen, Robert Stoltenberg, Knut Nærum and Glenn Erland Tosterud. Written by Richard Parkin for Pure Movies. This year’s boldness award goes to Troll Hunter. The simple fact that a Norwegian film has managed to grab so much attention is justification enough for such an accolade, but when you consider its concept you could almost stand up and give the air a nice congratulatory round of applause. The film has barely hit our screens and word has got out that Chris Columbus has bagged the rights to make yet another Hollywood adaptation à la The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, or Let Me In.

This week's new films
Jane Eyre (PG)

(Cary Fukunaga, 2010, UK/Us) Mia Wasikowska, Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bell

It's customary with literary chestnuts like this to ask whether or not we really need another version. But would you rather have a remake of, say, Eat Pray Love? The power of the source material pulses anew here, thanks to some bold tweaks to the structure, elegantly restrained visuals, and, above all, two handsome, capable leads. And the mix between gothic gloom and slow-burning passion is just about right. So yes, we did need it.

Friends With Benefits (15)

(Will Gluck, 2011, Us) Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis, Patricia Clarkson. 109 mins

A non-romcom that almost creams its pants trying to be contemporary (iPads, apps, flashmobs?). The vaunted sex-only pairing is an excuse to critique the old sugar-coated Hollywood formula, but witty dialogue aside, you know it's going to resort to it in the end.

A Lonely Place To Die (15)

(Julian Gilbey,...

The film offers tension, suspense and excitement. Trollhunter also has a brilliant script and excellent performances from the cast. Visually and aurally, Trollhunter is breathtaking both visually and aurally. Norway’s beautiful forests, fjords and mountains almost become secondary stars of the movie. Trollhunter Remake Nabbed by Producer Chris Columbus
Troll Hunter (2010)
Andr&#233 &#216vredal's Trollhunter is opening in select theaters today and can still be found on VOD platforms. An American remake of the Norwegian movie has been brewing for some time now, and the project has finally found a home with producer Chris Columbus and his 1492 Pictures company. We first reported about a potential Trollhunter remake in April.

Marc Haimes (Men In Black II) has been hired to write the screenplay for 1492 Productions, which is teaming up with Cj Entertainment & Media on the remake. Here's what Chris Columbus, the original creator behind Gremlins, had to say about this project.

"Trollhunter was a visceral, thrilling, cinematic rock and roller coaster ride of a movie. Visually, there are scenes in this film that American audiences have never seen. We want to introduce an international audience to this amazing moviegoing experience."

There is no word yet whether or not Chris Columbus will direct the Trollhunter remake,...

The Troll Hunter (2010)
Directed by: André Øvredal

Written by: André Øvredal

Cast: Otto Jespersen, Hans Morten Hansen, Tomas Alf Larsen, Johanna Mørck, Knut Nærum, Robert Stoltenberg, Glenn Erland Tosterud

All governments of the world have secrets.

Such secrets will vary strongly from the fabulously dull to the fantastically strange. How strange? Well, it might be a fancy new organic-based spaceship that's powered on human brains, an ancient arcane device that can be used to summon the great hoary lord of the infernal abyss, or it just may be something like, I don't know, maybe…

Troooooooooooooll!

A small group of students venture out into Western Norway, intent on creating a student film documentary on reported occurrences of bear poaching in the region. The team manages to get on the trail of Hans (Otto Jespersen), who's strange comings and goings has put him under suspicion by the locals of being involved in a recent string of illegal bear killings.

The Troll Hunter Movie Review
Troll Hunter (2010)
Title: The Troll Hunter Director: Andre Ovredal Starring: Otto Jespersen, Hans Morten Hansen, Tomas Alf Larsen, Johanna Morck, Glenn Erland Tosterud, Robert Stoltenberg, Knut Naerum Simply put, the 90 minute documentary styled “The Troll Hunter,” is easily the best in the genre since “The Blair Witch Project” popularized this concept. In some instances, it may actually be better than the innovative horror flick that has inspired this genre of fake documentaries; including the current “Paranormal Activity” franchise. By cutting out the all the pondering and ancillary footage, that really doesn’t have any entertainment value for the viewer – something that “Paranormal Activity” failed to do – this presentation requires one’s...
