Stephen Dorff, Radha Mitchell (“Blueback”) and Italy’s Cristiana Capotondi (“The Ignorant Angels”) are set to star in indie rom-com “No Place Like Rome” from U.S.-based Italian director Cecilia Miniucchi (“Life Upside Down”).

Shooting has just started in Rome on the U.S.-Italy co-production, which revolves around an emotionally fraught American photographer named Connor (Dorff), who travels to the Eternal City from New York during the Christmas holidays for a combination of work and vacation.

His teenage son is supposed to join him in Rome, but after he changes plans, Connor — who still has ties to his ex-wife (Mitchell) — intersects with an “attractive and extroverted” Italian museum curator, played by Capotondi, according to the provided synopsis. After she guides him to take some pictures off the beaten path, Connor decides to stay for the duration of the festivities.

Filming on the third feature from Angelo Frezza, the story of a chaotic editor and a fascinating food critic, will begin on 19 October in Malta. Filming will begin in Malta on 19 October on The Fifth Taste (Umami), directed by Angelo Frezza (Sweet Sweet Marja) and starring Karin Proia, Angelo Orlando, Daphne Scoccia and Antonella Laganà, the latter also being an associate producer on the film. Filming will last three weeks before moving to Ascoli for another two weeks. The film centres on Anna Cardinali, a chaotic editor, and Alessandro Montagna, a fascinating food critic and an expert of the "Fifth Taste", the mysterious umami. 108 Media boards Italian romantic drama ‘The Fifth Taste’ ahead of shoot (exclusive)

Singapore’s 108 Media has acquired international rights to Angelo Frezza’s Italian romantic drama The Fifth Taste which is due to start shooting in Italy next month.

The deal excludes Italy and China, where Italian producer G&e Film Production holds theatrical and distribution rights respectively.

The film is about the owner of an artisanal food outlet who recognises her niece has an eating disorder. But it’s her estranged lovermwho seems to be the only person who can help the young woman through her personal struggle.
