The Sopranos‘ Michael Imperioli has signed on to Fox’s Memory of a Killer, a new drama expected to debut in 2026. Imperioli joins Patrick Dempsey in the upcoming series, inspired by the 2003 Belgian film De zaak Alzheimer (La Memoire Du Tueur).

Fox offered this description of the series and of Michael Imperioli’s character: “Memory of a Killer is a dramatic thriller about a hitman, Angelo Ledda (Dempsey), leading a dangerous double life while hiding an even deadlier personal secret — he has developed early onset Alzheimer’s.

Imperioli will star as Dutch, an accomplished Italian chef who owns a restaurant in the Bronx, a stalwart establishment that is also a front for Dutch’s less sociable activities — such as running a criminal enterprise. As ruthless and mercurial as he is affable, Dutch is Angelo’s oldest friend, as...

Drew Barrymore Talks Dating During Perimenopause: ‘I Don’t Want You To Think I’m Some Dusty Old Dry Thing’
Image
Drew Barrymore is getting real about perimenopause and her dating life.

Barrymore joined Oprah Winfrey, Maria Shriver, Dr. Sharone Malone, Dr. Heather Hirsch and Dr. Judith Joseph for a conversation about menopause, which aired on Winfrey’s OprahDaily.com Wednesday, where she shared how the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause have impacted the way she dates.

Per the Mayo Clinic, perimenopause means “around menopause” and “refers to the time during which your body makes the natural transition to menopause, marking the end of the reproductive years.”

“There’s something in that stigma that I don’t want you to think I’m some dusty, old, dry thing. That’s not the image I want,” Barrymore shared after revealing that she hesitated to tell a date about the panel, and namely, it’s topic of discussion.

“I feel very confident, normally, and I want to be who I am and present myself.

One of the best horror films of the year, Insidious, haunts DVD shelves July 12th
One of the best horror films of the year, did not include the gimmick of 3D, nor was it a sequel or remake, and it was made for less than $2 million dollars! Insidious is considered to be one of the most profitable films of the year because it has grossed over $50 million at the box-office and cost a little more than a drop in a bucket to produce. The talented tag-team of James Wan and Leigh Whannell nailed it again with an edge-of -your -seat, old-fashioned ghost story that proves that there is still a demand for well-made original horror films (you can read my review of the film Here) . Now, the ghostly film is heading to DVD and Blu-ray on July 12. Special features on the disc include three featurettes on the making of the film: “Horror 101: The Exclusive Seminar”, “On Set With Insidious”, and “Insidious Entities.” If...

Looks like our creepy lady/witch has gotten a hold of the latest quad poster for James Wan's Insidious. This new one is familiar but with one thing added or should I say missing, the eyes have been scratched out on Ty Simpkin's character Dalton.  Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Barbra Hershey, Andrew Astor, Angus Sampson and co-writer Leigh Whannell all star in the film.

Be sure to check out my interview with Philip Friedman who plays the creepy lady in the film! ...

Philip Friedman turns on his scare factor and changes his gender to portray the sinister Old Woman spirit in the new horror/thriller “Insidious” from director-writer team James Wan and Leigh Whannell (Saw), releasing on April 1, 2011 by FilmDistrict.

Insidious is the terrifying story of a family who shortly after moving discover that dark spirits have possessed their home and that their son has inexplicably fallen into a coma. Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again, only to discover that it was not their house that was haunted. The Old Woman (Friedman) is an evil entity spirit who has been lurking about, seeking to inhabit someone in the family longer than anyone suspects.

That creepy old woman in 'Insidious'? It's a dude.
So, you know how in our review of Insidious we talk about how director James Wan has a phobia of old ladies in Victorian wedding dresses? We found out an interesting fact about that old lady in Insidious.

It's a dude.

Philip Friedman (not to be confused with Phillip J. Fry) underwent a gender change to portray the sinister Old Woman spirit (that's 'gender change', not 'sex change', for people who don't understand the difference between sex and gender. He changed his mannerisms, dress, and stuff). Philip's character is the image that the film has been using for their main marketing campaign, appearing on the poster and frankly, the part of the film that is the most interesting, the silliest, the scariest, and the most downright fun.

No homophobia allowed! We love that actors are open to changing genders to portray a character without letting uptight societal standards of gender...
