Exclusive: CEO Pritan Ambroase's Love Letter to Paris Fashion Week | Pfw Remains Fashion’s Ultimate Global Stage Shaping Culture, Business, and Global Values
Image
The crazier and more unstable global politics and political leaders become, the greater the responsibility of art and its many incarnations, be it cinema, fashion, art, music, dance, etc. In 2025, as we stand on the apex of chaos in politics, art is more important now than ever before. As the Editor-in-Chief of The Hollywood Insider, whose mission statement focuses on substance and meaningful entertainment, and a lifelong devotee of fashion, I feel this responsibility acutely every time I attend Paris Fashion Week. In the grand halls and historic ateliers of Paris, I witness firsthand how fashion – one of the most potent forms of art – responds to and reflects our turbulent world. Paris Fashion Week is not merely a parade of luxury runway shows; it is a cultural barometer and a bellwether for the global fashion industry.

I have seen how the artistry on display at Paris Fashion Week carries weight far beyond the clothes themselves.

Kim Kardashian Admits She ‘Couldn’t Breathe’ In Controversial 2024 Met Gala Corset
Image
Reality star Kim Kardashian admitted that she was uncomfortable in the corset she wore to last year’s Met Gala.

In early May 2024, Kardashian received attention at the Met Gala in a John Galliano for Maison Margiela dress, which looked extremely uncomfortable and drew massive backlash online from her fans.

The gown’s corset cinched her waist so tightly that it nearly looked painful on the Met Gala carpet.

Some fans were angered over the “unrealistic” and “unhealthy” beauty standards she displayed that night. Others asked about the strange gray sweater with piling she wore on top of the gown, which appeared to be inappropriate for the event.

During a confessional on the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kardashian talked about the corset she wore for the event.

Sky-High Heels: Lady Gaga’s Boldest Footwear Moments That Stole the Spotlight
Image
No one makes a statement with shoes quite like Lady Gaga. Standing at just 5 feet 1 ¼ inches (155.6 cm), Gaga is taller than Ariana Grande and Cardi B, but shorter than Hayley Williams, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Adele, and Taylor Swift.

To make up for her petite height, Lady Gaga embraces sky-high heels as part of her artistry. As she says, ‘I am a walking piece of art every day, with my dreams and my ambitions forward at all times,’ using her bold fashion choices to dominate every room she enters and inspire her fans to live boldly.

While most stick to 5-inch stilettos or 3-inch platforms, Gaga pushes the limits, confidently strutting in footwear that most wouldn’t dare try. Her shoes are as much a part of her iconic style as her extravagant outfits.

Lady Gaga proves that stature is no measure of star power, standing out on...

Butter Yellow Gowns & Golden Heels: Elle Fanning’s Prada Premiere Look Is Pure Glam Goals

In the biographical drama film A Complete Unknown, Elle Fanning plays Suze Rotolo, Bob Dylan’s girlfriend in the early 1960s. She was regarded as his muse, and Dylan acknowledged that she significantly impacted his art and music at the time.

She went the androgynous route in a brown Saint Laurent suit at the movie’s London photocall and went for Old Hollywood glamour in a buttery yellow Prada gown at the movie’s LA premiere.

Why Matthieu Blazy Is Perfect for Chanel (and Hollywood)
Image
At last it’s official, the most coveted job in fashion has been filled: Matthieu Blazy, formerly the creative director of Italian label Bottega Veneta, has been named the artistic director of Chanel, effective early next year. The 40-year-old, Paris-born designer will oversee creation of all haute couture, ready-to-wear and accessories collections for the house, which was founded by Coco Chanel in 1913.

Why is overseeing Chanel considered the plum position in global fashion? The brand remains a privately held company in a luxury industry that has experienced a merger mania in recent years. It’s also undeniably at the top of today’s respected houses: Gucci or Louis Vuitton may be hotter or buzzier with the public, but Chanel, which posted supremely healthy 2023 revenues of $19.7 billion, revels in its quiet reputation as the pinnacle of fashion, and that isn’t expected to change anytime soon. Chanel owners Alain and Gérard Wertheimer — whose grandfather,...

In Vogue: The 90s Review – Fashion’s Most Radical Decade Decoded
Image
“In Vogue: The 90s” isn’t just another documentary—it’s a time machine back to the most transformative decade in fashion history. This six-part Hulu series chronicles how the 1990s completely reinvented the fashion landscape, with Anna Wintour at the epicenter of this radical transformation.

The documentary zeroes in on a pivotal moment when fashion burst from its traditional constraints, becoming a dynamic intersection of pop culture, art, and social movements. Under Wintour’s visionary leadership, Vogue magazine became more than a publication—it became a cultural powerhouse that defined an entire era.

The series captures the decade’s seismic shifts: the rise of supermodels like Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista, the emergence of grunge aesthetics, the explosive influence of hip-hop on style, and the blurring lines between high fashion and popular culture. From Madonna’s groundbreaking Vogue cover to Kate Moss’s heroin chic look, each moment represents...

Zendaya’s never been just to follow the crowd, and her fashion journey is no exception. Her sty, list Law Roach spilled the tea on something shocking—Zendaya has never worn pieces from the fashion industry’s “big five” luxury house, not on the red carpet, not the press, not even in public. All thanks to a few doors slammed shut early in her career. And honestly, we’re kind of here for it.

During a chat on The Cutting Room Floor podcast, Roach revealed how the fashion elite initially turned their backs on Zendaya when rousing in the industry. “I would write to the big five… and they would all say no,” he shared. The names on his “no list”? Saint Laurent, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, and Valentino. These fashion houses told Roach, “Try again next year. She’s too green.

‘In Vogue: The 90s’ Cements the Magazine’s Legacy as it Reflects the World of Fashion
Image
There’s something alluring about the fashion industry, the pursuit of beauty through infinite lenses, what goes on in the heads of tastemakers, reveling in runway shows of seasons past, and of course flipping through the pages of Vogue. ‘In Vogue: The 90s’ from Vogue Studios and Raw Entertainment covers the fashion magazine as Anna Wintour took the reins and the fashion industry went through a series of metamorphoses. Expertly shot and edited interview footage with Wintour, Vogue editors Hamish Bowles, Edward Enninful, and Tonne Goodman, as well as designers, supermodels, and the odd fashion-adjacent celebrity or influencer is intercut with Vogue spreads and high definition archival runway footage, something that is pretty difficult to find even with the internet at the world’s disposal. From era to era, controversy to controversy, runway to runway, look to look, join the people who were at the heart of it all as...

Apple TV+’s ‘La Maison’ Finally Gives Fashion the Dramatic Showcase It Deserves: TV Review
Image
As a setting for a TV show, fashion is a little like the restaurant industry: a rich, untapped source of detail and conflict, hindered by the logistical complexity of bringing its insular world to the screen. And just as “The Bear” was preceded by a legion of competitive reality shows, plus a misbegotten adaptation of Anthony Bourdain’s “Kitchen Confidential” starring a young Bradley Cooper, the French drama “La Maison” is the latest of many attempts to make couture into compelling drama. “Project Runway” remains an unscripted institution, but recent scripted efforts have ranged from dutifully reverential (“Becoming Karl Lagerfeld”) to confoundingly inept.

Unlike these earlier series, which fictionalized the lives of icons like Yves Saint Laurent and Coco Chanel, “La Maison” gives itself the freedom to take liberties. Perhaps relatedly, it’s by far the strongest of the recent efforts to graft fashion onto entertainment. Created and showrun by...

‘One to One: John & Yoko’ Review: An Exhilarating and Deeply Political Vision of a Year in the Life
Image
The bond between John Lennon and Yoko Ono, mutually inspired artists from very different worlds, is only one of the love stories at the core of director Kevin Macdonald’s vibrant and stirring new documentary. Tracing an eventful year, One to One: John & Yoko is, first and foremost, a portrait of the couple’s love affair with New York City, their newly adopted home. In its mix of remarkable archival material, the film is both tender and galvanizing, summoning up what New York felt like in 1972 (yes, I would know) and offering a fresh slant on a country’s upheaval and a generation’s countercultural awakening.

For Macdonald (One Day in September, The Last King of Scotland), One to One is not only a return to form after his mixed-bag profile of John Galliano, but one of his finest pieces of work. He and co-director/editor Sam Rice-Edwards have conjured...

Image
Kim Kardashian is suffering for the sake of fashion. Her painful style secrets have been revealed. There are concerns with the Hulu star. Keep on reading to learn more.

Rebecca Minkoff Expresses Concern

Kim Kardashian shocked fans with her look at the 2024 Met Gala. She wore a custom-made Maison Margiela by John Galliano dress with a tight corset.

The reality star wore a sheer dress that featured silver flowers, floral motifs, and lace details. She clutched a gray cardigan across her shoulders to avoid a wardrobe malfunction.

Fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff spoke to The U.S. Sun at the Annual Accessories Council Excellence (Ace) Awards on Tuesday, May 7. She shared her thoughts about Kim’s controversial outfit.

“I was worried for her. I was worried that I didn’t know if she would be able to breathe,” Rebecca confessed. “To me, that’s too much, like, when you’re disfiguring yourself.

Did Tyla or Zendaya Win the Met Gala Red Carpet? The Answer Depends
Image
With a guest list that totaled 400 bold-faced names, the 2024 Met Gala may rank as the best-attended celebrity event so far this year. But beyond the sheer volume of high-wattage stars who ascended the Metropolitan Museum of Art stairs on May 6, who really won the night’s red carpet in terms of brand exposure?

In the latest edition of the Red Carpet Power Rankings, an exclusive partnership between Launchmetrics and The Hollywood Reporter, the results are in.

It should surprise no one that Zendaya performed well in the rankings of top-five women at the Met Gala, as someone who not only draws intense interest wherever she goes but also because the Euphoria and Challengers star did two laps on the red carpet, first wearing custom Maison Margiela, then changing inside the museum and climbing the steps once again, this time in vintage Givenchy, which she and star stylist Law Roach purchased...

Who What Wear? The Met Gala 2024
Image
Art © The Hollywood Insider. All rights reserved.

On the first Monday of May, fashion lovers tune into the Met Gala red carpet to see what each of their favorite celebrities are wearing. The Met Gala is a huge topic of conversation each year, while audiences analyze each fashion choice, each guest, and whether or not these celebrities fit the theme of the gala. This year, the Met Gala featured two themes of sorts. The Met Gala’s 2024 theme was ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, inspired by the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's latest exhibition. However, the dress code was ‘The Garden of Time’, nodding its head to the visuals of the briar woods of ‘Sleeping Beauty’. With this dress code, we were bound to see plenty of florals and nature-inspired looks this evening. In case you missed it, here are some of the most memorable looks from Monday evening.

Kim Kardashian Sparks Online Backlash For ‘Unhealthy’ Tiny-Waisted Corset & Messy Hair At The Met Gala
Image
Last week, reality star Kim Kardashian turned heads at the Met Gala in a John Galliano for Maison Margiela dress that looked incredibly uncomfortable and drew significant backlash online from fans.

The gown’s corset cinched her waist so tight that it almost looked painful on the Met Gala carpet. Some fans were angry over the “unrealistic” and “unhealthy” beauty standards Kardashian demonstrated that night, others questioned the strange gray sweater with obvious piling Kardashian wore on top of the gown, which seemed inappropriate for the event.

Kardashian’s explanation for the outfit seemed odd as well.

“This is like the wildest night of my life in a garden,” Kardashian said about her dress. “And I just ran out and grabbed my boyfriend’s sweater and threw it on. And had to get to work. My hair’s all messed up.”

Kardashian was also sporting icy blonde waist length waves...

The current fashion “it girl” Zendaya was reportedly snubbed by five prominent designers’ houses back in the day. In an interview with The Cutting Room Floor shared on Patreon Thursday, May 9, the “Challengers” actress’ long-time stylist, Law Roach, revealed she has yet to wear looks from five fashion houses on the red carpet after they refused to dress her early in her career.

Roach, who has styled the “Dune” star since she was 14, has continued to work with the actress despite announcing his retirement from celebrity styling over a year ago. Roach, who recently styled Zendaya for the Met Gala, where she walked the carpet in a stunning gown by Maison Margiela’s John Galliano, said it was a challenge to get certain luxury fashion houses to work with the star in the past...

Zendaya’s Stylist Law Roach Names Designers Who Refused to Dress Her on Red Carpets, Including Dior and Gucci: ‘If You Say No, It’ll Be Forever’
Image
Stylist Law Roach revealed on “The Cutting Room Floor” podcast that Zendaya still hasn’t worn looks from five fashion houses after they refused to dress her early in her career.

“I would write the big five. I would write Saint Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, Dior, and they would all say, ‘No, try again next year. She’s too green. She’s not on our calendar,’” Roach said during the interview.

“I still have the receipts,” he continued. “By the time she got to [the cover of] American Vogue [in 2017], she still had never worn any of those designers. She still hasn’t.”

Roach, who has styled the “Challengers” and “Dune” star since she was 14, clarified that Zendaya has worn designs by the “big five” in editorial shoots, but never in public or during red carpet appearances.

“She still has never worn Dior on a carpet. She still has never worn Chanel on a carpet.

In Full Bloom: A Detailed Look At Zendaya’s Three Enchanting Garden-Themed Costumes at the 2024 Met Gala
Image
Zendaya made a spectacular comeback to the Met Gala on Monday! Following a five-year absence, Zendaya returned as a co-chair for the 2024 Met Gala, joining Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny. Before this, her last Met Gala appearance was in 2019 when she dazzled the crowd in her magical Tommy Hilfiger Cinderella ball gown.

The 27-year-old actress delivered more than I could have imagined at the 2024 Met Gala, showcasing not one or two but three exquisite outfits appropriate for a co-chair. Her latest outing came following a whirlwind press tour for Challengers, where she once again demonstrated her mastery of method dressing by donning chic tennis-inspired looks.

In true Zendaya and, of course, Law Roach fashion, they did not let fans, including me, down.

Kim Kardashian made a lot of money with the Keeping Up with the Kardashians show on reality TV and her expensive outfit shocked and mortified fans who saw what she wore to the 2024 Met Gala. Of course, she shocked people in the past, but this time, some people think she went over the top and looked likely to pass out.

Kim Kardashian Stunned Reality TV Fans

Two years ago, Kim lost a lot of weight to be able to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s gold Jean Louis dress at the Met Gala. In fact, there were some observations that the reality TV star might have damaged the custom-made dress. If you don’t know, she borrowed the gown from Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! stock. Perhaps that’s why this year, she wore a dress by John Galliano.

The announcement set the stage for some of the celebrities who Anthony and her co-hosts, Gwendoline Christie and Ashley Graham, interviewed throughout the night who also showcased their sustainable red-carpet choices.

Met Gala 2024: Zendaya’s stunning looks is making us go crazy
Image
The Met Gala 2024 is taking place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Zendaya, who is also among the other hosts for the grand evening, dazzled in a Maison Margiela by John Galliano gown, inspired by a 1994 Dior design. She donned the bottle green and blue jewel toned gown with a long flair.

For her second look at the Met carpet, Zendaya surprised all in a black gown. It included a corseted lace-up bodice with long, puffy off-the-shoulder sleeves. She was seen wearing Givenchy dress 1996.

Since attending her first Met Gala in 2015, Zendaya has always nailed the theme, and of course, the Met Gala 2024 is no exception.

She walked the red carpet twice. Her killer looks is making us go crazy.

Met Gala Stunners: Zendaya, Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo Make THR’s 15 Best Dressed List
Image
Did Anna Wintour add more tables to this year’s Met Gala? Because the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art felt especially crowded on Monday evening, May 6, teeming with Hollywood A-listers wearing a plethora of artful looks. And while not everyone leaned into the evening’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” for the most part the stars acquitted themselves well in looks that ranged from quiet elegance to over the top and outrageous.

Even with the nature-centric theme, the night surprisingly was highlighted by some stars in neutrals. Nicole Kidman offered a great backstory for her black and white Balenciaga gown, while Cardi B served up the night’s best drama in a Windowsen black gown that almost spanned the width of the museum steps. Flesh-toned gowns likewise were abundant, including Pamela Anderson in Oscar de la Renta and Lizzo in a custom floral-inspired corset gown by Paris-based designer Victor Weinsanto.

Met Gala: See All the Craziest Looks, Wildest Hair and Strangest Fabrics
Image
The theme of the 2024 Met Gala was “The Garden of Time” — based on a story by J.G. Ballard – but, really, the theme of all Met Galas always has been: Go big or stay home!

While there have been myriad gorgeous gowns, jewels and natty tuxes over many Met Gala years, what do the most dress-obsessed actually remember? Cher half-naked. Lady Gaga’s change of dress performance art. Billy Porter’s royal entrance in Egyptian armor and entourage. Katy Perry as a chandelier. They all proved: It doesn’t pay to stay staid — even if staid means gorgeous.

So the question comes down to: Does one do good outrageous? Or outrageously bad? Both the bad and the beautiful always get the most ink — sometimes, you can’t tell the difference. With such risky looks, it’s a toss of the coin. If you’re Cher, you can pull off anything. Everyone...

Zendaya Flexed Her Fashion Power Wearing Two Looks on the Met Gala Red Carpet
Image
With several gowns reportedly being considered until almost the last moment, Zendaya’s choice for the 2024 Met Gala ultimately was a custom haute couture look from Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano as well as a surprise archival look — also by Galliano.

In the hours before the Challengers star and Met Gala co-chair arrived on the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the rumor mill had kicked into high gear about who she might be wearing. Multiple gowns were mentioned as contenders, a sign of the power Zendaya wields in the fashion industry.

But her first choice indeed reflected the blend of 19th century romance and modernity that Galliano creates like perhaps no other designer, with elements that subtly evoke the gala’s theme of “The Garden of Time.” The emerald green and electric blue gown is a custom design made of organza and sage-hued lamé crafted...

Kim Kardashian Opts for Cozy Cashmere and Corset Met Gala Ensemble
Image
Straying from her typical Met Gala ensemble, Kim Kardashian stepped out in a cozy meets couture look.

The reality star and brand mogul wore Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano. The designer created a haute couture ensemble comprised of a pale grey cashmere cardigan, a couture corset rewoven from antique silver brocade and a skirt tooled with silver metal.

The luxury fashion brand said the look was meant to evoke lace, flowers, leaves and sprigs alongside silver chain and floral motifs cut from mirror fragments. The silhouette was “inspired by the symbiotic love-affair between Elizabeth Taylor and her jewelry,” according to a release.

Kardashian has been a constant at the Met Gala for the last few years. Interviewed by long-time best friend La La Anthony for Vogue on the red carpet, she said that getting the chance to see those important to her is what she looks forward to the...

Met Gala 2024: Lana Del Rey Channels Briar Rose in Thorned Alexander McQueen Gown
Image
Lana Del Rey looked sharp at the 2024 Met Gala.

Fresh off headlining two weekends of Coachella, the “Video Games” singer stepped onto the moss-inspired carpet in a veiled cream Alexander McQueen sheath gown by Seán McGirr, who took inspiration from Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti.

A haute couture version of a fit-and-flare silhouette from the label’s spring/summer line, Del Rey wore a silk, tulle and georgette corseted dress with hand-embroidered thorny vines that appeared to climb up from her skirt and behind her head. The singer finished the look with a crystal-embellished red rose corsage. The look was a nod to the British fashion house’s “crown of thorns” headpiece from the fall/winter 1996 collection of then-creative director Shaun Leane.

“I’m with Sean [McGirr at] McQueen — Oh god, I hope I don’t poke him,” Del Rey joked on the red carpet, where she stood beside collaborator Kim Kardashian. (The...
