    The daughter of Russian immigrant parents, she got into films with the help of her uncle Morris, who was a theatrical producer. During the 1940s she played the female lead in several low-budget westerns opposite Tex Ritter, Tim McCoy and Johnny Mack Brown but found few meatier assignments and quit acting for family life at the end of the decade.
