Legendary horror movie director Wes Craven, who is responsible for classics such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream, passed away earlier today at the age of 76, after battling brain cancer. The filmmaker made his mark with his first film, 1972's The Last House on the Left, and continued to be a driving force in the genre ever since. The filmmaker is survived by his third wife, producer Iya Labunka, sister Carol Buhrow, son Jonathan Craven, daughter Jessica Craven, stepdaughter Nina Tarnawksy and three grandchildren.

Wesley Earl Craven was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Caroline (Miller) and Paul Eugene Craven, raised by a strict baptist family. He earned his undergraduate degree in English and Psychology from Wheaton University in Illinois, and earned his Masters in Philosophy and Writing from Johns Hopkins University. After college, he was briefly a humanities professor at Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam, New York.

Wes Craven, director of such iconic horror films as "A Nightmare on Elm Street," "Scream" and "The Last House on the Left," has died of brain cancer at age 76, his family announced Sunday in a statement: It is with deep sadness we inform you that Wes Craven passed away at 1Pm on Sunday, August 30 after battling brain cancer. CW is on a roll as they approach the season finales of shows like Reign and The Vampire Diaries. Thus the network has decided it was time to release their TV listing for March 19th’s episodes. We will see relationships fail and people trying to save lives with both shows sort of having a similar theme to each other. TalkRadio 790 Kabc’s Jillian Barberie and John Phillips are saying goodbye to the lunchtime crowd and hello to afternoon commuters.

Starting Jan. 20, the pair’s Los Angeles radio talk show “Mid-Day La with Jillian Barberie & John Phillips” will move from its current 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. timeslot to the higher profile 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. period.

“Jillian and John have achieved demonstrative growth in the middle of the day,” a spokesperson for station owner Cumulus said in a statement issued to TheWrap. “They are a news-of-the-day smashing into pop culture juggernaut. It’s a whole different take that’s very current.

How do those who can't exactly go home celebrate Thanksgiving? Well, some of them throw their own celebration in the college dorms, while others, like a certain someone who wasn't invited, hit the road to try to find information about a lost friend. That's basically what's happening on The Vampire Diaries this week in "Fade Into You."

Caroline and Elena host Friendsgiving at their Whitmore College dorm, while Stefan, Damon and Alaric head to Portland to gather information about the Gemini Coven. However, dinner takes a drastic turn when Jo finds herself fighting for her life. Meanwhile, Tyler is determined to help Liv after she and Luke reveal disturbing information about their witch lineage and their coven's plans for them, and Kai makes a discovery that brings him one step closer to escaping.

Now that Ian Somerhalder’s Damon is back, Paul Welsey’s Stefan sort of has his partner in crime back. While Damon was on the other side, Alaric filled in those shoes. However, we appear to be seeing the duo grow into a trio for the episode “Fade Into You”. Stefan and Alaric return to Mystic Falls with news about the Gemini Coven for Elena and Caroline. I saw the Season 6 premiere of "The Vampire Diaries" last week and you've perhaps already seen my post with a handful of teases courtesy of showrunner Caroline Dries, who did a Q&A with a few reporters afterwards. 5.13 Basic Sandwich

It’s a bit tricky talking about this season finale of Community, Basic Sandwich, without acknowledging the fact that this could be the last time we’re talking about Community at all. Unlike last year’s season finale, which felt like the final straw for a lot of fans and inspired a sense of “that’ll do” that should really never have been applied to a show so daringly, brilliantly original, this second part of last week’s Subway vs. Greendale debacle has the sense of sweet finality to it. But then, maybe it’ll be back, it depends on what fails!

If you thought Thursday's (March 20) episode of "The Vampire Diaries" was intense, start preparing yourself now for next week's episode, "Rescue Me." Because based on the promo and the spoiler-heavy synopsis for the March 27 episode, things are about to get crazy.

At the end of "While You Were Sleeping," Elena and Damon tried to break up, but of course they just ended back in bed together. Will they be able to break up for good in the cold light of day, or will they keep falling back in bed (we don't blame them one bit ... see above photo)? Plus, they picked the worst timing to complicate their relationship, since they have to play surrogate parents for Jeremy at his parent-teacher conference at school, and it turns out he's not doing so well in his classes. That's probably since he spends so much time at Whitmore College with Bonnie. Too bad...

Her mother Viva (née Janet Sue Hoffmann) appeared in Andy Warhol's movies and lived at the Chelsea with Gaby's 11-year-old half-sister Alexandra, her daughter with ex-husband Michel Auder – the French video artist who later married the photographer Cindy Sherman. (Hoffmann's actual father was the actor Anthony Herrera.)

"The Vampire Diaries" fans, prepare to meet two new and extremely important faces when The CW's supernatural drama returns from its hiatus.

Heather Hemmens and Chris Brochu have just landed two recurring roles on "Tvd," E! Online reports.

Hemmens, a "Hellcats" alum, is the luckiest lady in the land because she gets the honor of playing Enzo's (Michael Malarkey) long-lost flame from back in the day. She will portray Maggie, first appearing in episode 19. Remember when Enzo told Damon (Ian Somerhalder) the story of a girl he fell in love with in 1953? That's Maggie, a former lab assistant to Dr. Whitmore. Enzo and Maggie fell in love and when she found out that Enzo was being tortured and experimented on, she told Enzo she was sorry and left.

No word yet on whether or not we'll be seeing Maggie in flashback form or in present day, although if we do see her in present day,...

Before "The Vampire Diaries" takes off for a few weeks (no one wants to tangle with the Olympics, even vampires), we have to get through a "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Here's a sneak peek of the upcoming Ep. 5.13, in which Stefan disapproves of Damon. What else is new?
