Brandon Routh and Rachael Leigh Cook are seemingly a new couple!

The two actors, both 45, were spotted holding hands while leaving a movie theater after a date night on Friday (July 25) in Los Angeles.

This isn’t the first time they’ve been spotted together. Back in February 2025, the restaurant HomeGrown in Des Moines, Iowa posted a photo of the possible couple dining at the restaurant.

Coincidentally, both Brandon and Rachael have starred in Hallmark Channel movies and they were both scheduled to attend Christmas Con in late 2024, but both had to cancel. People recently confirmed that they’ll both be there in December 2025.

Brandon and Rachael both shot to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Scandal and horror aren’t exactly strangers to one another, and sometimes bad press is good for business. However, Captivity’s own controversy didn’t do it any favors, financially speaking; this 2007 movie flopped at the box office. What caused the public ire back then was a promotional campaign that onlookers found to be disturbing. In all likelihood, the most hardened horror heads probably didn’t bat an eye at that multi-paneled “abduction, confinement, torture, termination” billboard ad. Even that one poster of Captivity lead Elisha Cuthbert (House of Wax), the one where she’s buried in sand, pressed up against glass, and her chest is emphasized for obvious reason, isn’t especially egregious. Maybe it’s worth an eyeroll. Nevertheless, it wasn’t fans of the horror genre who took issue and aired their complaints to Lionsgate and the MPA.

Made by filmmaker Antonio Negret, Shaman will debut to watch including on VOD starting in August this summer. Shot on location in Ecuador. A Missionary trying to convert an Indigenous Community on this remote Ecuadorian volcano must come to terms with her Faith when her son is possessed by dark forces. Candice believes that an exorcism in the Catholic tradition will free her boy from the evil bonds that bind him. The local shamans know that this spirit is older than her religion and must be dealt with or the demon will take them all. Well Go USA Entertainment has exclusively provided Bloody Disgusting with the official trailer for Shaman, a new possession horror movie that’s being unleashed later this summer.

Shaman is coming to Select Theaters as well as Digital on August 8, 2025.

The horror film follows a missionary (Sara Canning) as she and her husband (Daniel Gillies) seek to convert an Indigenous community in a remote Ecuadorian village.

The 49-year-old Virgin River actor was spotted with Julia, 36, while arriving at Guarulhos Airport on Friday (March 21) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The film premiered at the 2024 Austin Film Festival. The film is directed by Antonio Negret and written by Daniel Negret. The film stars Sara Canning (A Series of Unfortunate Events), Daniel Gillies (The Originals), and Jett Klyne (Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness). The film is slated for a mid-2025 release in North America.

The deal was negotiated by Brennan Lane for Well Go USA and Paradigm on behalf of the filmmakers. Myriad represents international film sales and will be available at EFM.

Despite The Originals ending several years ago, there are still those who wonder why brothers Klaus and Elijah Mikaelson were killed off. Julie Plec wants to expand The Vampire Diaries franchise with a new story. The franchise has a rich mythology with many unexplored storylines from the books by L.J. Smith. There have already been two acclaimed spin-offs from The Vampire Diaries, the series Legacies and The Originals.

Julie Plec, the co-creator of The Vampire Diaries, has recently shared a major update on a new entry in the long-running franchise. Based on the books written by L. J. Smith, The Vampire Diaries aired 171 episodes over the course of eight seasons from 2009 to 2017, cementing its status as a fan-favorite series for all ages.

During its time on air, the franchise not only expanded its ensemble with stars like Joseph Morgan, Claire Holt, and Daniel Gillies, but also produced two successful spinoff shows, The Originals and Legacies. Julie Plec told ScreenRant at The Girl on The Bus premiere that she intends to expand The Vampire Diaries franchise even further.

In the crime drama Sight Unseen, currently airing on The CW, homicide detective Tess Avery (Dolly Lewis) has to quit the job she loves after she loses her sight while on a case, putting the life of her partner, Jake Campbell (Daniel Gillies), at risk. Diagnosed clinically blind and too stubborn for her own good, Tess seeks help from a stranger named Sunny Patel (Agam Darshi) on whats essentially a seeing eye app and the two work together to help Tess pass as sighted. If they can successfully enable Tess to continue to solve cases, then she might not have to completely redefine her identity.

When Orphan Black co-creator John Fawcett read Kat and Niko Troubetzkoy’s new The CW show Sight Unseen, his response gave the half-sisters, who were producers on his own Peabody-winning BBC America series, a jolt of confidence. “We showed him the pilot [script] and he said, ‘This is one of the best detective thrillers I’ve read in a while,” Kat recalls.

The show follows Vancouver homicide detective Tess Avery (Dolly Lewis), who, after experiencing sudden sight loss and becoming clinically blind, resigns from her position. Soon after, she meets Sunny (Agam Darshi), an agoraphobic volunteer on a visual assistance app who remotely provides Tess with visual description via a lapel camera, and the two begin to take up cases on their own.

Sight Unseen follows Tess Avery (Dolly Lewis), a Vancouver-based homicide detective who steps away from the job when her vision loss nearly costs her partner (The Originals’ Daniel Gillies) his life. Tess continues to help the police department solve crimes with an assist from Sunny (Agam Darshi), an agoraphobic woman in New York City who serves as Tess’ eyes — while also providing some A+ commentary on Tess’ life.

A crime drama series, the Sight Unseen TV show was created by Karen Troubetzkoy and Nikolijne Troubetzkoy and was inspired by one of them having recurring experiences with sight loss.

The story revolves around Tess Avery (Lewis), an exceptional homicide detective in Vancouver. An incident in the field nearly results in her partner, Jake Campbell (Gillies), being killed, leading to her being diagnosed as clinically blind due to the fast onset genetic condition of Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy.

Sight Unseen is coming soon to The CW.

The network has had great success of late with crime dramas such as Wild Cards and Walker.

This latest offering focuses on a woman who loses her sight and tries to understand how to continue doing her job.

Monsters and Critics got the chance to watch the first two episodes and it’s definitely a show you should be watching.

Daniel Gillies is returning to The CW after several years away.

Best known for playing Elijah Mikaelson on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, the actor has also appeared on Virgin River and Seal Team.

Now, he will play a homicide detective on Sight Unseen.

Sight Unseen focuses on a young woman named Tess (Dolly Lewis), whose life is upended when she learns that she’s clinically blind.

After being forced to leave behind her homicide detective career, we see her trying to navigate a new way of life while simultaneously trying to crack cases.

Jake is there for Tess every step of the way, but their relationship changes considerably when Tess becomes more reliant on technology, which isn’t the type of policing Jake understands.

It’s official: The Vortex will be down one member when All American returns for Season 6.

TVLine has exclusively confirmed that Hunter Clowdus, who co-starred as football player JJ Parker since All American‘s debut, has exited the CW series ahead of its sixth season. A rep for the show tells us that JJ’s storyline “organically wrapped” at the end of last season.

Frasier hasn’t left the building just yet: Paramount+ has renewed the sitcom revival starring Kelsey Grammer for a second season, TVLine has learned.

Two CW shows that survived the network’s behind-the-scenes overhaul finally have return dates.

All American Season 6 will premiere Monday, April 1 at 8/7c, while Walker will kick off Season 4 on Wednesday, April 3 at 8 pm, it was announced at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Thursday. Walker will be followed that night (at 9 pm) by the freshman crime drama Sight Unseen, starring The Originals‘ Daniel Gillies.

These shows continue the network's trend of seeking content from non-u.S. sources, as both are co-produced with Canadian studios. The shows feature CW alums such as Vanessa Morgan from Riverdale and Giacomo Gianniotti from Reign, bringing a familiar feel to the programming.

The CW has ordered two new scripted dramas, the crime procedural “Wild Cards” and the detective drama “Sight Unseen.”

“Wild Cards” will see the return of CW stars Vanessa Morgan, known for her work on “Riverdale,” and Giacomo Gianniotti, known for “Reign,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “From Scratch.” As for “Sight Unseen,” the drama will star newcomer Dolly Lewis, “Dmz” star Agam Darshi, “The 100” star Jarod Joseph and Daniel Gillies, known for his work on “Virgin River” and “The Vampire Diaries.”
