A specialist in recreating the hot jazz and dance music of the 1920s
and early 1930s. His "Nighthawks" band has been featured in many
movies, television shows, National Public Radio broadcasts and concerts
in several countries. He has produced and played on many CDs, including
the Grammy Award-winning 'Boardwalk
Empire.' He plays
many instruments himself, and is an expert in the rarely heard bass
saxophone. He has provided vintage orchestrations for many important
films, especially those of director
Woody Allen.
He lives in Brooklyn.
