Shammi and Priyanka, played by newcomer Dev Goel and semi-newcomer Adaah Sharma, are chaddi-buddies. To prove it, he even flashes his chaddi in her face. Thankfully, he isn't wearing it when this occurs.

This is one of the many irreverent scenes showing the couple's comfort level that keeps recurring with discomforting frequency in the film with the potential to make us lough out aloud. Alas, the laughter is often waylaid.

The film comes from a banner that has given mainstream Hindi cinema such blockbusters in the past as 'Dus Lakh' and 'Ek Phool Do Maali'. Devendra Geol, who made these successful films is much respected..

While animation movies are hugely popular Overseas, they have, with the exception of one or two movies, never really found their niche in the Indian market. But Hollywood giant Warner Bros. and veteran Jyotin Goel hope to bring animation movies in the spotlight with Bird Idol, their first collaboration. Coming from a background of working with big-name stars such as Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla, some might believe that Jyotin took a risk by entering an unproven medium in India. But Jyotin is quick to refute such claims. He believes that there is a huge, untapped market for animation movies in India, as seen by the success of foreign animation films that release here. Bird Idol, he promises, will prove to be a game-changer and will open up a new market for Indian films. Says Jyotin, "Bird Idol is a laugh-out-loud riot, combining international quality animation with pure, unadulterated comedy.

The funny story behind a memorable song
Veteran lyricist Verma Malik passed away few days back on March 15th. He had written a quiet a good number of memorable songs and one of the most famous amongst them has been the Aaj Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai number from Devendra Goel’s Aadmi Sadak Ka which released in the year 1977. This song has been a perennial favourite of all the bands that play during the wedding baaraats even till date.

But not many are aware about the interesting story behind how the song came to be what it is today. It happened so that, Goel had explained the song situation to Verma Malik as an engagement song to be.
