Who was eliminated in The Masked Singer season 13, episode 7?
Image
It was Carnival Night in The Masked Singer season 13, episode 7. It wasn’t all fun and games, though, as one masked celebrity needed to go home. We’d only just got to meet Group C!

I always find the first round a little brutal. There aren’t enough clue packages to really get to guess who the celebrity is, and they don’t really get a chance to shine in their talents. I remember thinking that Group B didn’t have any really strong singers the first week, but that changed during the second.

Meet Group C in The Masked Singer season 13 ,episode 7

Well, Group C took to the stage. It looks like we have three males and two females again.

We got to meet Yorkie, Stud Muffin, Nessy, Chery Blossom, and Mad Scientist Monster. Yes, all of them had their first clue packages revealed, and now it’s time...

Why Growing Pains' Last Season Failed Despite Leonardo DiCaprio
Image
Despite initial success, Growing Pains experienced a decline in viewership by the '90s and added Leonardo DiCaprio to the cast in hopes of attracting a younger demographic. Tracey Gold, who played Carol Seaver, struggled with anorexia while on the show and faced insensitive jokes about her weight, leading to a decline in her mental and physical health. Kirk Cameron, who played Mike Seaver, became a born-again Christian and made script demands to align with his personal values, causing tension on set and alienating his co-stars.

The classic ‘80s sitcom Growing Pains was a popular show that centered on the Seaver family as they attempted to raise their rambunctious kids. The series featured a dynamic cast including Robin Thicke, Joanna Kerns, and Kirk Cameron and was a ratings hit for ABC upon its 1986 premiere, swiftly establishing itself as one of television’s most wholesome and good-natured sitcoms.

Despite experiencing initial success,...

Matthew Perry's Other Works Besides Friends
Image
Matthew Perry is a household name that will always be remembered for Friends, but his career was so much more than that. Perry’s roles in films like Fools Rush In, The Whole Nine Yards, and 17 Again extended his comedy chops from Friends to film. With roles like Matthew Albie in Studio 60 and Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple, Perry pushed himself outside of his iconic role on Friends.

To say that Matthew Perry left behind a legacy is somewhat of an understatement. When the actor died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 28, after an apparent drowning, the internet and Hollywood erupted with memories and tributes to a brilliant actor gone far too soon. Perry was just 54.

Though he was largely known for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on Friends, Perry leaves behind a filmography that extends well beyond that sitcom and a history of supporting addicts as they attempted to get sober.

Wtf Happened to Matthew Perry?
Image
Seasons three through six of Friends had some of Chandler Bing’s funniest and most character-defining moments. There he is handcuffed, without pants, to a filing cabinet; remaining in “time out” in a box for nearly a full episode; hooking up with—and later marrying—Monica…We all remember them fondly. The one who doesn’t? Matthew Perry, who says these seasons were a blur due to his problems with substance abuse.

Wtf Happened to…Matthew Perry?

But to truly understand what the fuck happened to Matthew Perry, we go back to the beginning. And the beginning began when he was born on August 19th in Williamstown, Ma, the son of two prominent people: actor John Bennett Perry and mother Suzanne, who later served as press secretary to Canadian Pm Pierre Trudeau.

Perry developed an interest in acting after he served it up on the tennis court as a youth,...

Scott Foley
Listen: Scott Foley on How ‘Growing Pains,’ Alan Thicke and ‘Boner’ Inspired His TV Career
Scott Foley
Scott Foley isn’t afraid to admit his love for late 1980s family sitcom “Growing Pains.” “I watched everything about that show,” he told Variety’s “My Favorite Episode” podcast. “From the ‘Entertainment Tonight’ backstage clips where Kirk Cameron got a Honda Prelude — I mean, I remember what kind of car he got. I was a big fan of it. I had a crush on Tracey Gold. I still now will read the People magazine articles on these actors.”

Foley said “Growing Pains” was more than a sitcom to him — it was the dawn of his realization that he could act, on television, for a living. “It was one of the shows that I think I realized, ‘hey I can do that.’ I was at the age where I was starting to form ideas on what my future would be. I loved that time in television. We don’t really have that now.

‘Dance Til Dawn’ at 30: The Team Reflects on ‘Unusual Casting Process,’ #MeToo Relevance and DJ Dick
The spring and summer of 1988 were consumed with a writers’ strike within the film and television industry, but one project that launched in the fall came out of it unscathed: “Dance ‘Til Dawn,” an original television movie about Hoover High’s senior prom first aired on NBC Oct. 23, 1988. The movie was a who’s who of 1980s television — from Kelsey Grammer and Alan Thicke, to Christina Applegate, Tempestt Bledsoe and Tracey Gold — and its multi-generational casting allowed it to be an early pioneer of content aimed at a co-viewing audience. It was also a love letter to Los Angeles, utilizing iconic locations such as the Cocoanut Grove at the Ambassador Hotel as its soundstage. Now, 30 years after its initial release, “Dance ‘Til Dawn” also finds new relevance within the era of #MeToo and Time’s Up.

“The whole idea of a prom was a universal thing for everybody — everybody had...

How Alan Thicke Scored His Role in Growing Pains — and the Hollywood Action Star Who Almost Got the Part
Joanna Kerns, Alan Thicke, Kirk Cameron, Tracey Gold, Ashley Johnson, and Jeremy Miller in Growing Pains (1985)
Alan Thicke, who died Tuesday at the age of 69, was widely known for his starring role as Dr. Jason Seaver on Growing Pains — but it was a role he almost didn’t get.

When the role first came up, Thicke was coming off the failure of his 1983 syndicated late night talk show Thicke of the Night — which was meant to rival Johnny Carson’s The Tonight Show but ended up being canceled within its first year. His reputation damaged, Thicke was worried the show’s demise might have actually marked the end of his on-camera career.

It Came From The Tube: The Dark Secret Of Harvest Home (1978)
I don’t like rituals, period. Whether straitlaced (Christian) or darkly purposed (Satanic), I just find them creepy…and off. So while I won’t stand on ceremony, I will watch, with fascination, films that trot out such pageantry. One of my favorites is a two part TV mini-series, The Dark Secret of Harvest Home (1978). Oh, and its horror, but I’m sure you already guessed that.

Originally airing on NBC Monday, January 23rd (in the NBC Monday Night at the Movies slot) and Tuesday the 24th, 1978, Dark Secret was up against the CBS juggernaut of M*A*S*H/One Day at a Time/Lou Grant. But while many were watching Hawkeye, Schneider, et al crack wise, something insidious was brewing over at The Peacock.

"Growing Pains" Turns 30 -- See the Cast Now!
Show me that smile again! It's been 30 years since we met the Seavers on "Growing Pains" in 1985 -- don't worry, we feel old too -- and we're celebrating the milestone by taking a look back at the show's cast to see what they've been up to for the last three decades. The series, which ran for seven seasons, followed the lives of psychiatrist Dr. Jason Seaver (Alan Thicke), his wife, Maggie (Joanna Kerns) and their family. Jason took care of the kids: ladies man Mike (Kirk Cameron), book worm Carol (Tracey Gold), wild child Ben (Jeremy Miller), youngest daughter Chrissy and, for a little while, a homeless boy played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Since starring in the beloved '80s series, Thicke went on to appear on "Hope & Gloria," "jPod," "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "How I Met Your Mother." The 68-year-old actor is currently starring in his own reality show,...

As we continue to mourn the loss of this legend, we're revisiting his best work with nine of his best films.

Wesley Earl Craven was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Caroline (Miller) and Paul Eugene Craven, raised by a strict baptist family, although his father died when he was just five years old. Jeremy Miller, Star Of 'Growing Pains,' Opens Up About Alcoholism
Growing Pains star Jeremy Miller recently opened up about his battle with alcoholism and the medical implant he says has helped keep him sober.

Jeremy Miller Talks About Alcoholism

Miller starred as Ben Seaver, the youngest son in the Seaver family, on Growing Pains from 1985 to 1992, and took some time away from acting after the show ended. Instead, Miller reveals he began binge drinking after the show ended. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Miller says he would start every day with a trip to the liquor store and drink until he passed out.

At his lowest moments, Miller admitted that he considered suicide, saying, “There were probably a few nights it was awful close. I’m glad I did not own a gun, because I hated myself so thoroughly, I would have done something very stupid.”

Miller made the decision to truly get sober about eight years ago, around...

'The To Do List': Laugh, reminisce, and even get a little misty
Bill Hader, Alia Shawkat, Rachel Bilson, Sarah Steele, Andy Samberg, Scott Porter, Aubrey Plaza, Johnny Simmons, Donald Glover, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse in The To Do List (2013)
The To Do List is a hilarious, raunchy comedy about class of 1993 valedictorian Brandy Klark (Parks and Recreation’s Aubrey Plaza) checking off various acts on the hand-written spreadsheet she keeps in her Trapper Keeper. It’s all in preparation for losing her virginity to Rusty Waters (Friday Night Lights’ Scott Porter), a hot college guy and fellow summer lifeguard who does a mean acoustic version of Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” And, even with all the bawdiness, it made me tear up. Spoiler Alert!

If, like me, you also graduated high school in 1993, some of Brandy...

TV on Tap: Michael Vartan Checks in to the “Bates Motel” and “Sunny” Days Are Almost Over
News

Bates Motel has cast Alias hunk Michael Vartan as a “charming divorcé who catches Norma’s eye,” according to TVLine. If he’s a love interest for Norma, I think he dies before the season is over.

Let the campaign for a streaming video service to save Bunheads begin!

On the other hand, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia gets to plan its goodbye, ending with its tenth season. The ninth season of the sleeper hit comedy debuts in September, so they have time to fashion a satisfying ending.

Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy producer Shonda Rhimes has sold a drama to ABC, according to Deadline. The script is inspired by the story of Wynona Ward, a trucker who went to law school at the age of 41, eventually starting an organization that helps victims of domestic abuse.

Once Upon a Time has recast its Robin Hood, TV Line reports.

Arrow’s Kelly Hu Never Knew Danger Like Kissing Kirk Cameron on Growing Pains
Danger surrounds actress Kelly Hu today.

As the nefarious China White in Arrow, she plays the head of an assassins syndicate that goes head-to-head with Green Arrow; and in her new role as Cece on The CW’s The Hundred, she’ll be facing incredible odds in an enthralling, futuristic thriller.

But at no time was she in more danger than when she kissed Kirk Cameron in her debut role on Growing Pains.

Hu is among several notable actors whose careers took flight after taking their initial bow in a guest appearance during Season Three of Growing Pains. Four-time Academy Award nominee Brad Pitt played his first character with an actual name in the ninth episode of the season, “Who’s Zoomin’ Who?”; The Hangover star Heather Graham doubled that feat by portraying her first two “name” characters as Cindy in “Michaelgate” and as Samantha in “Some Enchanted Evening”; and Butch Hartman,...
