HBO is rounding out the cast of its upcoming limited series Task.

The drama from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby has added Martha Plimpton and Mireille Enos to its already large ensemble. Mark Ruffalo heads the cast as an FBI agent leading a task force investigating a string of drug-house robberies in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Plimpton’s presence in Task was revealed Sunday in a teaser for HBO and Max’s upcoming programming. She will play Kathleen McGinty, a career FBI agent who recruits Tom (Ruffalo) to head up the task force, just as she learns that she is being forced to retire. Enos will play Susan Brandis, Tom’s wife and the heart and soul of their family. She and Tom married young and is the reason he left the priesthood.

Fatal Attraction will not be returning for a second season. The thriller is one of two shows the streaming service has cancelled this week. Kiefer Sutherland’s Rabbit Hole was also dropped after one season.

Paramount+ is breaking up with two recent additions to its roster by canceling the Kiefer Sutherland spy drama Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction, starring Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan. Paramount+ is in slash-and-burn mode, with the company removing titles as a cost-cutting measure.

“We want to thank both series’ entire creative teams, crews and the fantastic casts for their dedication to bringing these series to life,” said the Paramount+ spokesperson. “Both Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole will continue to be available on Paramount+ for audiences to discover.”

Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction join Paramount‘s other canceled series, including Real World: Homecoming, The Twilight Zone, Interrogation, Coyote, No Activity, Guilty Party, and The Harper House. More cancelations hit the streaming service in June, with Star Trek: Prodigy, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Queen of the Universe, and The Game going the way of the dodo. Paramount+ has canceled the Fatal Attraction reboot and Rabbit Hole after their freshman seasons.

The streaming service announced the shocking news Thursday.

"Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole will not be returning for second seasons on Paramount+," a rep for the streamer said via a statement obtained by TV Line.

"We want to thank both series' entire creative teams, crews and the fantastic casts for their dedication to bringing these series to life."

Fatal Attraction premiered April 30 on Paramount+ in the U.S. and international territories.

The streaming service described the series as "a deep dive reimagining of the 1980s cultural touchstone Fatal Attraction through the lens of privilege, personality disorders, family dynamics and murder."

Both “Rabbit Hole” and the “Fatal Attraction” TV series have been canceled after just one season each at Paramount+, Variety has learned.

“‘Fatal Attraction’ and ‘Rabbit Hole’ will not be returning for second seasons on Paramount+,” a Paramount+ spokesperson said in a statement. “We want to thank both series’ entire creative teams, crews and the fantastic casts for their dedication to bringing these series to life. “Fatal Attraction” was a reboot of the 1987 film of the same name. The show originally debuted on the streamer with its first three episodes on April 30 and concluded on May 28.

Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson starred in the series as Alexandra Forrest and Daniel Gallagher, the roles originally played by Glenn Close and Michael Douglass in the film.

The ending to Fatal Attraction has been the topic of much debate in the decades since the classic film first released in 1987. The official trailer for Paramount+’s Fatal Attraction (the series inspired by the film) begins with the man at the heart of the love triangle attending a parole hearing after serving time for second-degree murder. He addresses a panel of judges and explains he’s been fixated on discovering why he did what he did and why Alexandra Forrest died.

Additional scenes show what Daniel thought was going to be just a one-night stand transitioning into something much more dangerous. 1987's Glenn Close/Michael Douglas thriller Fatal Attraction is still considered a great example of the genre, even with its troubling aspects around the treatment of women and mental health. There's a new TV adaptation headed our way in a couple of months, starring Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan. Check out the first teaser.
