Fatal Attraction will not be returning for a second season. The thriller is one of two shows the streaming service has cancelled this week. Kiefer Sutherland’s Rabbit Hole was also dropped after one season.

Paramount+ is breaking up with two recent additions to its roster by canceling the Kiefer Sutherland spy drama Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction, starring Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan. Paramount+ is in slash-and-burn mode, with the company removing titles as a cost-cutting measure.

“We want to thank both series’ entire creative teams, crews and the fantastic casts for their dedication to bringing these series to life,” said the Paramount+ spokesperson. “Both Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole will continue to be available on Paramount+ for audiences to discover.”

Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction join Paramount‘s other canceled series, including Real World: Homecoming, The Twilight Zone, Interrogation, Coyote, No Activity, Guilty Party, and The Harper House. More cancelations hit the streaming service in June, with Star Trek: Prodigy, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Queen of the Universe, and The Game going the way of the dodo. Despite some strong names attached to each of their respective casts, two new shows at Paramount+ have already been canceled.

Per Variety, it's been reported that Rabbit Hole, starring Kiefer Sutherland, and Fatal Attraction, starring Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson, have both been officially canceled at Paramount+. Both of these shows had just debuted on the streaming platform earlier this year and had since been on the bubble. Rabbit Hole premiered in March and wrapped up its eight-episode freshman season on May 7, while Fatal Attraction similarly premiered in April and concluded its own eight-episode season on May 28.

Confirming that both Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction have been axed, a Paramount+ spokesperson said in a statement, "We want to thank both series’ entire creative teams, crews and the fantastic casts for their dedication to bringing these series to life.

Well, this is a bummer.

Paramount+ has canceled the Fatal Attraction reboot and Rabbit Hole after their freshman seasons.

The streaming service announced the shocking news Thursday.

"Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole will not be returning for second seasons on Paramount+," a rep for the streamer said via a statement obtained by TV Line.

"We want to thank both series' entire creative teams, crews and the fantastic casts for their dedication to bringing these series to life."

Fatal Attraction premiered April 30 on Paramount+ in the U.S. and international territories.

The streaming service described the series as "a deep dive reimagining of the 1980s cultural touchstone Fatal Attraction through the lens of privilege, personality disorders, family dynamics and murder."

However, unlike the 1987 film starring Archer, Michael Douglas and the incomparable Glenn Close, Paramount+’s new series, “Fatal Attraction,” is void of boiled mammals. What it does have is a more intricately fleshed-out narrative of a pompous and ambitious district attorney Dan Gallagher (Joshua Jackson), whose tawdry affair with a young woman, Alexandra Forrest (Lizzy Caplan), quickly spirals out of his control.

“Dirty John” creator Alexandra Cunningham and writer Kevin J. Hynes’ series opens in the present day in Los Angeles, with a frazzled and bearded Dan pleading his case for parole. He’s served 15 years for killing Alex, a crime he attests to, before being granted his freedom.

Anticipation was at boiling point at Canneseries on Tuesday, with the audience – and celebrity guests – storming the pink carpet for the international premiere of Paramount+ new offering “Fatal Attraction,” shown at the fest out of competition.

Written by Alexandra Cunningham and Kevin J. Hynes, the eight-episode series, now brought into the New York legal world, stars Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson as doomed lovers Alex Forrest and Dan Gallagher, whose exciting extramarital tryst quickly turns sour.

Amanda Peet, Alyssa Jirrels – cast as Jackson’s daughter, Ellen Gallagher – Toby Huss, Reno Wilson and Brian Goodman are also featured, while Paramount Television Studios and Amblin Television produce.

You don’t want to ignore the new trailer for Fatal Attraction, the upcoming eight-episode adaptation of the classic 1987 movie coming to Paramount+.

A television adaptation of the 1987 neo-noir Fatal Attraction is coming to Paramount Plus, and the streaming service has announced plenty of information about the release date, the cast, the trailer, and more. The original Fatal Attraction is an erotic thriller starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close as a pair of adulterous lovers whose lives become violently entangled. Douglas's Dan Gallagher has a weekend affair with Close's Alex Forrest, but while the successful family man tries to put the relationship behind him, Alex becomes obsessed. The official trailer for Paramount+’s Fatal Attraction (the series inspired by the film) begins with the man at the heart of the love triangle attending a parole hearing after serving time for second-degree murder. He addresses a panel of judges and explains he’s been fixated on discovering why he did what he did and why Alexandra Forrest died.

Additional scenes show what Daniel thought was going to be just a one-night stand transitioning into something much more dangerous. Brief clips show Alexandra pursuing Daniel, and even showing up at his home. The trailer ends with Daniel proclaiming his innocence and swearing he’s going to prove he’s not a murderer.

Starring Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan, the new take on “Fatal Attraction” begins with an interesting twist: Dan Gallagher (Jackson) in prison for the murder of Alex Forrest (Caplan) 15 years earlier. As the trailer shows, the drama bounces between time periods – with Dan out of jail in the present day and hoping to prove his innocence in Alex’s death, and then flashbacks to their clandestine affair in 2008. The official trailer for Paramount+’s “deep-dive reimagining” of “Fatal Attraction” starring Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson is finally here.
