Another Day in America Review: A Shocking Portrait of Workplace Rage
Image
There’s a certain sterile quietness to a corporate office park that has always felt unsettling to me, a silence that seems to be holding its breath. Another Day in America takes place in such a setting, the fictional Haskin Rogers corporation, and spends its runtime letting that breath out in one long, chaotic scream.

The film unfolds over a single post-pandemic workday, using an on-screen clock to mark the hours as they tick down like a timer on a bomb. We are introduced to a large ensemble of employees, from the top floor to the cubicle farm, each embroiled in their own personal and professional dramas.

What begins as a day of routine tasks quickly spirals. The film builds an atmosphere of palpable tension, making it clear that the simmering resentments and unspoken frustrations are about to boil over in a very public and unfiltered way.

Last Seen Alive (2022) Movie Ending Explained – Can Will Spann find his wife Lisa before Detective Paterson?
Brian Goodman
Director Brian Goodman’s film Last Seen Alive 2022 is an exasperating chase against time to find Will Spann’s missing wife through the criminal underbelly of a town in the middle of nowhere. This film commences with a startling premise of kidnapping with a prime suspect in custody confessing to the heinous crime of possible murder. The film is a linear narrative with the clear objective of finding Lisa, Will Spann’s wife.

The two protagonists’ journeys are parallel to each other who sought for answers when they employ their independent means of sleuthing to intersect at the exact location as the missing victim and events unveil a very different truth. With a fallacious assumption from the beginning, we experience the tipping of the scales when Detective Paterson meets Will Spann, who reports his wife missing as a mere indulgence to depict no criminal tendencies. Let us understand how...

‘Fatal Attraction’ Boss Explains Whodunit Reveal, Twist Ending and Major Changes From the Movie
Image
[This story contains major spoilers to the finale of Fatal Attraction.]

The ending to Fatal Attraction has been the topic of much debate in the decades since the classic film first released in 1987. Glenn Close, who starred as villain Alex Forrest, has spoken out about the ways she feels the movie failed her character; and it was revealed in recent years that the studio retooled the film’s ending, despite Close advocating for the original treatment.

All of that when looking back at the film in modern-day was precisely why showrunner Alexandra Cunningham initially had hesitations about reimagining the story for TV. But, when speaking freely about the entire series, Cunningham revealed that she ultimately seized the opportunity because she wanted to not only expand Alex’s perspective as the role is taken on by Lizzy Caplan, but also explore the effects on Ellen (Alyssa Jirrels), the daughter of Dan and Beth Gallagher, who are played by Joshua Jackson...

Every Main Character In Fatal Attraction Ranked By Their Ability To Ruin Your Life
Image
Few women in cinematic history have been vilified so much as Alex Forrest. Played by Glenn Close, this wild and seductive career woman terrorizes her married lover, Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas), after a weekend fling in the mother of all erotic thrillers "Fatal Attraction." The original Alex is the epitome of a femme fatale and embodies the saying, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Released in 1987, Adrian Lyne's film has been reevaluated through the lens of modern sexual politics, with a much more sympathetic reappraisal of Alex's character and a refusal to see Dan as the story's hapless victim. A reboot from creators Kevin J. Hynes and Alexandra Cunningham attempts to reckon with this complicated legacy in an eight-part series starring Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson as the toxic lovers.

The series begins with an incarcerated Dan (Jackson) confessing his sins in a parole hearing 15 years after...

Fatal Attraction Cast On How The New Series Differs From The Classic Film
Image
Paramount Plus’ new series Fatal Attraction offers a reimagining of the iconic film. Dan Gallagher (Joshua Jackson) and Alex Forrest (Lizzy Caplan) still have a short-lived affair, but thanks to this being a series and not a movie, there is a lot more to explore. Because of that, new characters are added in that are extremely important to the story.

Toby Huss plays Mike Gerard, Reno Wilson plays Earl Broker, and Brian Goodman plays Arthur Tomlinson in Fatal Attraction. All three men know Dan quite well, with Mike and Earl having worked closely with him in his line of work. Arthur is a friend of the family, as his wife and Dan’s wife, Beth (Amanda Peet), are very close.

Amanda Peet & Alyssa Jirrels On Adapting Fatal Attraction For The Small Screen
Image
Fatal Attraction is probably one of the most infamous movies, even though it came out in 1987. Even if you have not seen the film, you likely know how it plays out. The story has now been adapted into a series for Paramount Plus. It tells a similar but expanded tale this time.

Amanda Peet stars as Beth Gallagher in Fatal Attraction, with Alyssa Jirrels playing the grown-up version of her daughter, Ellen. When her husband has a short-lived affair with a woman he works with, things end in death. The series follows what happens in the present, as well as the past.

Fatal Attraction Builds on the Iconic Film & the Cast and Creatives Agree
Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan in Fatal Attraction (2023)
This Sunday, Fatal Attraction returns.

The famed IP is getting the series treatment, which allows for a much deeper dive into the story and its characters.

Like you, we have IP refreshing and reboot fatigue, but we've seen Fatal Attraction Season 1 in its entirety and believe that further exploration has merits.

Dan Gallagher (Joshua Jackson) is an attorney on the cusp of a significant promotion. He's happily married to Beth (Amanda Peet), and the couple has a lovely daughter, Ellen.

But as bright as Dan's life seems on the outside, he's riddled with self-doubt when an opportunity slips through his fingers, and he begins looking outside of his family for validation.

Dan finds that validation in Alex Forrest (Lizzy Caplan), a coworker with an understanding of his professional pressures because she faces the same.

Dan and Alex have a one-weekend affair that scratches an itch for both of them. Dan feels seen,...

Though the Boiled Bunnies Are Lacking, ‘Fatal Attraction’ Has Intrigue in Spades: TV Review
Image
A curious Anne Archer lifts the lid off of a boiling pot only to discover the body of her young daughter’s mangled and bloated bunny. It’s a film scene that still echoes in the minds of cinephiles and physiological thriller enthusiasts alike. However, unlike the 1987 film starring Archer, Michael Douglas and the incomparable Glenn Close, Paramount+’s new series, “Fatal Attraction,” is void of boiled mammals. What it does have is a more intricately fleshed-out narrative of a pompous and ambitious district attorney Dan Gallagher (Joshua Jackson), whose tawdry affair with a young woman, Alexandra Forrest (Lizzy Caplan), quickly spirals out of his control.

“Dirty John” creator Alexandra Cunningham and writer Kevin J. Hynes’ series opens in the present day in Los Angeles, with a frazzled and bearded Dan pleading his case for parole. He’s served 15 years for killing Alex, a crime he attests to, before being granted his freedom.

Fatal Attraction: Lizzy Caplan will not be ignored in new trailer for Paramount+ series
Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan in Fatal Attraction (2023)
You don’t want to ignore the new trailer for Fatal Attraction, the upcoming eight-episode adaptation of the classic 1987 movie coming to Paramount+.

The Fatal Attraction series stars Lizzy Caplan as Alex Forrest, a woman who forms a deep connection with Dan Gallagher (Joshua Jackson) during a one-night stand, but when Dan decides to end the affair, Alex has trouble letting go. The series is based on the 1987 film of the same name starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. Writer/executive producer Alexandra Cunningham teased that while there will be similarities with the movie, it will explore different facets. “The screenwriter of the film, James Dearden said, to him the character of Alex Forrest is not a study in madness, but rather a sad, tragic, lonely woman under pressure from a really hard job,” Cunningham said. “As a frequently sad, not at all tragic, and not as lonely as I...

‘Fatal Attraction’ trailer: Paramount+ series reboots the ‘80s classic with Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan [Watch]
Image
The new take on “Fatal Attraction” will not be ignored any longer. On Monday, Paramount+ released the official trailer for the new drama series, which takes the familiar intellectual property from the 1980s and refashions the material for a modern age.

Starring Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan, the new take on “Fatal Attraction” begins with an interesting twist: Dan Gallagher (Jackson) in prison for the murder of Alex Forrest (Caplan) 15 years earlier. As the trailer shows, the drama bounces between time periods – with Dan out of jail in the present day and hoping to prove his innocence in Alex’s death, and then flashbacks to their clandestine affair in 2008. (The idea that Dan would face criminal charges for killing Alex has seeds in the ending of the original 1987 movie when Alex dies by suicide and then frames Dan for her death.)

In addition to Jackson and Caplan, the series stars Amanda Peet,...
