When the marriage of a heavyweight in the music industry comes to an end, the divorce will be trending news. It’ll also probably be expensive. Here are seven musicians who faced costly divorce settlements.

Lionel Richie reportedly began a relationship with designer Diane Alexander while he was married to his first wife, Brenda Harvey. Richie and Alexander married in 1995, two years after he finalized his divorce from Harvey. The couple shares two children, and they divorced in 2003.

Per E!, Alexander reportedly claimed that she bought $15,000 of clothes a month and spent $20,000 on plastic surgery annually. The musician paid roughly $20 million in the divorce.

One of the great things about horror is the variety, which can go hand and hand with longevity; as fans we never get tired of the genre because there are so many rabbit holes to dive down, to drown in weird worlds of ghosts, dismemberment, and monsters. And even when a sub-genre isn’t in fashion, it’s nice to see a touch of the old in the current; case in point: The Being (1983), writer/director Jackie Kong’s (Blood Diner) feature debut and a breezy update of ‘50s sci-fi shenanigans.

Released by Best Film & Video in November, The Being was originally shot in 1980 under the title Easter Sunday; no takers were to be found until ‘83. The film did not light up the box office, nor did it receive any lofty notices. It did, however, signal the arrival of a fun new voice on the horror scene in the guise of Kong.

As the 1980s began, country superstar Kenny Rogers was fast becoming that genre’s most successful pop crossover artist. In September 1980, after a streak of major hits helmed by producer Larry Butler, Rogers enlisted songwriter Lionel Richie, of the Commodores, to write him a song. “Lady,” also produced by Richie, would soon become the biggest hit in Rogers’ solo career and one of the best-selling songs of the decade.

Not long before he died last month at 81, Rogers would record his last on-camera interview for the upcoming A&e Biography: Kenny Rogers special.

Country legend Kenny Rogers has ruled out ever going under the knife again, insisting plastic surgery is too risky at the age of 72. The "Lucille" star has previously admitted to a little cosmetic help to rid his face of wrinkles around his eyes, but he has no interest in having any other work done now he's got his six-year-old twins Justin and Jordan to think about.

He tells People magazine, "At my age now, I would never do that again because I have two young kids and there's a danger with any surgery." Rogers has been married five times. His fourth wife was actress Marianne Gordon Rogers and his current wife is the former Wanda Miller. He has a daughter and four sons.

So Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren have reportedly reached a $750 million divorce settlement.

That’s by far, far away the largest sum of money ever granted during a Hollywood divorce. According to The Daily Beast, the settlement also includes rules for Elin and Tiger to abide by. Elin is not allowed to speak about Tiger’s many affairs Ever and Tiger is not allowed to bring home any girls to meet his children until he’s married again! Boy, Elin must be harboring even more of Tiger’s secrets than we ever could have imagined if it’s worth $750 to buy his silence!
