In news that was also revealed via press release (but we first saw in The Hollywood Reporter), Nobody Wants This will see its Season 2 premiere on October 23, 2025. The cast was on hand yesterday to announce the premiere date at an Emmys event at the the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.

Season 2 of the rom-com series has set a premiere date of Oct. 23 at Netflix, the streamer announced during an Fysee LA Emmy event Sunday. Netflix know that a lot of somebodies want this. The second season of “Nobody Wants This” will premiere October 23. The show first dropped on the streamer last September to sparkling reviews, with IndieWire’s Proma Khosla praising the chemistry between leads Kristen Bell and Adam Brody.

The show, created by Erin Foster, finds Joanne and Noah (Brody) in a would-be conventional love story complicated by Noah’s position as a rabbi. Popular podcaster Joanne isn’t just not Jewish, she’s also unreligious generally — as is her entire non-traditional family. As Noah and Joanne attempt to acclimate to each other’s worlds, and Joanne explores converting, things get complicated — to put it lightly.

The event, which took place at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles, featured a screening of the Season 1 premiere followed by a live panel taping for Erin and Sara Foster’s podcast The World’s First Podcast.

Bell and Brody star as an agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi, respectively, who fall for each other and try to pursue a relationship but find themselves dealing with obstacles along the way, including family members on both sides.

Per Tudum, Netflix has renewed Nobody Wants This for a second season. The show getting its renewal comes just two weeks after the series debuted on Sept. 26, garnering positive reviews with a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score for the series is also quite high, currently sitting at 88%. Following the Netflix series' premiere on September 26, Glamour published "Netflix's Nobody Wants This and the Persistent Jewish Stereotype," an opinion piece by senior West Coast editor Jessica Radloff. While Radloff enjoyed the series (more on that later), she did take offense to the way Jewish women are portrayed in the romantic comedy: from an unwelcoming mother to the "Jewish trope of controlling/annoying wife who can't stand their other half." Foster, whose real-life romance with now-husband Simon Tikhman loosely inspired the series, recently spoke with the Los Angeles Times regarding the backlash:

"I think we need positive Jewish stories right now. I think it's interesting when people focus on, 'Oh, this is a stereotype of Jewish people,' when you have a rabbi as the lead. A hot, cool, young rabbi who smokes weed.

FX is heading back to Oklahoma. The network has picked up a drama pilot from creator Sterlin Harjo (“Reservation Dogs”) and star Ethan Hawke to series, Variety first reported and Gold Derby can confirm.

The series’ plot details are being kept under wraps, but it’s described as “a Tulsa noir about a guy (Hawke) who knows too much.” It’s a reunion of sorts for Harjo and Hawke, as the latter guest-starred in the second-to-last episode of Harjo’s FX comedy series “Reservation Dogs.” Harjo created the new series and directed the pilot and will serve as executive producer. Hawke will also serve as executive producer. Garrett Basch (“Reservation Dogs”) is also an EP.

The Disney-owned outlet has placed a series order for a drama starring Ethan Hawke (who guest-starred on the final season of Reservation Dogs). The untitled series, formerly known as The Sensitive Kind, is set in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is said to have a film noir vibe centering on Hawke’s character, a “guy who knows too much.” Other details are being kept quiet for now.

The pickup comes on the heels of Reservation Dogs‘ final season scoring a best comedy series nomination at September’s Emmy Awards, one of four nods for the show this year. FX is moving forward with its drama from Ethan Hawke and Sterlin Harjo, TheWrap has learned. The series originally received a pilot order in February, at which point it was tentatively titled “The Sensitive Kind.”

The upcoming drama is described as “a Tulsa noir about a guy who knows too much,” according to the official logline, and is produced by Fxp. Hawke will star in and executive produce the drama series, while the “Reservation Dogs” co-creator will serve as its creator, executive producer, writer and director. Garrett Basch also executive produces.

FX declined to comment for this story.

Ethan Hawke and Sterlin Harjo’s FX drama pilot has been ordered to series at FX, Variety has learned exclusively from sources.

The pilot was originally commissioned in February under the title “The Sensitive Kind” with Hawke in the lead role. Exact plot details are being kept under wraps aside from the fact it is described as a “Tulsa noir about a guy (Hawke) who knows too much.”

FX declined to comment.

The pilot was filmed in Oklahoma back in April and May. Keith David, Siena East, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tim Blake Nelson, Scott Shepherd, Tracy Letts, Kyle Maclachlan, and Macon Blair all starred opposite Hawke in the pilot, with additional cast including Killer Mike, Kaniehtiio Horne, Cody Lightning, Michael Hitchcock, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong.

Harjo created the series and serves as executive producer, while he also directed the pilot. Hawke will executive produce in addition to starring, with Garrett Basch executive producing as well.

Mindy Cohn opened up about a Facts of Life revival that was in the works but is now dead due to a “greedy” co-star.

The star of the NBC sitcom who played Natalie Green in all nine seasons of the show was a guest on a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, where she revealed that there was interest in reviving the series.

Cohn said that creator Norman Lear approached the cast about a Facts of Life reboot following the positive response to ABC’s Live in Front of a Studio Audience special in 2021, when episodes of The Facts of Life and Diff’rent Strokes were re-created.
