One of her friends is Jodie Landon (Jessica Cydnee Jackson), one of the few competent students at the school.

Created by Grace Edwards, Jodie was first conceived as a Daria & Jodie spin-off series. Comedy Central ordered the Jodie series in 2020, but the project was changed to a movie in 2022.

Several offshoots of shows, like House of The Dragon and The Originals, have become widely loved, but they will always be remembered as spinoffs. There are also certain TV shows that originated from another show, but it is easy to forget that they are actually spinoffs.

These range from sitcoms to dramas and have become so beloved and critically acclaimed that the source material has become disassociated with them. Some of them take place in very different environments from the original and have too big of a universe of their own to be connected with the original. The news was announced alongside the release of the official trailer for the film (see below), which sees Beavis and Butt-Head (both voiced by creator Mike Judge), on a space mission with NASA in 1998 (the year after the original series ended) and winding up in the year 2022. As the Nsa and the U.S. government track them down, the two struggle to adjust to modern life, while retaining their childish sense of humor.

In the years since viewers were first introduced to Daria Morgendorffer, she's become a heroine of sorts for many who saw (or still see) themselves as outsiders – particularly women – for whom mainstream depictions of non-traditional characters were, at the time, few and far between. Why oh why is this Daria: High School Reunion trailer not a real thing? College Humor has outdone themselves and inspired a case for another Kickstarter fan project. Aubrey Plaza takes on the role of the deadpan Daria from the beloved Glenn Eichler and Susie Lewis Lynn MTV series. The story picks up after our sardonic heroine graduated from Lawndale High and invites us to the school's 10-year reunion. It's great to see the old gang back together and bursting with sarcasm. Plaza is perfection, and we think Daria voice actress Tracy Grandstaff would be proud. Now, if we can just get this thing into production — but with a much hotter Trent Lane, please. For the past two years, I've been lucky enough to be a small part of a show called Portlandia. The series -- created by the prolifically talented Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein and returning on Friday for a second season -- has been described by many a stinging satire of Hipster culture. While it does parody Hipster earnestness, the show pays loving tribute to communities Like Portland everywhere -- Silver Lake, Austin, Bolder, Williamsburg, Minneapolis, Northampton, Berkeley, etc, etc, etc -- and much has been made about how the show has puts Hipster Culture in the spotlight.

I must say, however, Hipsters are not a new TV phenomenon. With thick glasses, just-so-avant-garde fashion and knowing smirks, Hipsters have had a special place on TV since the beginning of the medium -- even before the birth of the term. For more than half a century, TV Hipsters have had a profound effect on American culture.

Throughout its seven seasons, ABC's medical drama Grey's Anatomy has had few light moments-from the traumas in the hospital to the dramas of their romantic lives. When its creator Shonda Rhimes announced plans for a musical episode last November, many were therefore skeptical about how the Broadway tropes would work on the hour-long show. But Rhimes had a formula to make the episode, which aired Thursday night, work-Grey's used songs from Snow Patrol, The Fray, and similar indie bands that were popularized in earlier episodes instead of trying to go the route of the Great White Way.
