South Park, the hit animated franchise that celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, debuted on Comedy Central on August 13, 1997. Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny were first introduced in the animated short The Spirit of Christmas, and from there, they were launched into television history.

Co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone (who shared their opinion about the new premiere date) are the show’s executive producers, along with Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II.

The season two premiere of Andy Samberg’s Digman! is being pushed out two weeks to Wednesday, July 23, just like the season 27 premiere of South Park. Digman! airs in Comedy Central’s 10:30 p.m. time slot, immediately after South Park at 10.

South Park’s season 27 premiere was delayed on Wednesday. The news came amid a streaming-rights battle between the creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and the channel’s parent company, Paramount Global.

Parker and Stone are not happy about the delay, and they made that known.

The Comedy Central animated series “Digman!” is the latest show to shift its premiere at the basic cabler.

The second season of “Digman!” was slated to debut on July 9, but it will now premiere two weeks later on July 23 at 10:30 p.m. Et/Pt. The move keeps the series in line with the launch of Season 27 of “South Park,” which also recently shifted its premiere date to July 23.

Directed by the creator of several iconic adult cartoon series, including Beavis and Butt-Head and King of the Hill, Judge's 2009 live-action comedy film Extract has become a streaming hit. The film climbed to #2 most streamed film on Paramount+ U.S.Extract stars Jason Bateman as Joel Reynolds, the founder of a company specializing in making flavoring extracts. The film had an $8 million budget to work with and ultimately grossed $10.8 million at the global box offices. Despite the lukewarm financial success, Extract was generally positively received and currently has a 62% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Danny Duran, a respected entertainment publicist for more than 25 years who founded boutique agency ddPR, died Wednesday after an eight-month battle with cancer. He was 58.

Duran started his career at Walt Disney Studios and then joined Sandra Bullock’s production company, Fortis Films. Under Brigid Walsh, he handled publicity for Bullock as well as for talent including Eric Roberts, Bill Pullman, Chris McDonald, and Ron Livingston.

In 2000, he founded ddPR, launching the firm with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment as a client. He helped the division transition from VHS to DVD and then Blu-ray, supporting the release of titles including “The Lion King,” “Snow White” and “The Little Mermaid.”

Duran and ddPR worked with a wide range of film and talent clients over the years, including Roadside Attractions, Savannah Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Disney, Universal, and Lionsgate. He also handled personal publicity for Jon Hamm, Beth Grant, and other actors, becoming valued for his personal approach.

All good things must come to an end, but an ending is usually less bitter when said thing has been enjoyed for a while. Unfortunately, that's an experience Kevin Bacon could only wish to have for his horror series, The Bondsman, which was, surprisingly, axed by Prime Video after just one season. All eight half-hour episodes of the series dropped on the streamer on April 3, and the immediate reception was positive. The Bondsman not only topped the charts in its early weeks but was able to sustain momentum thereafter, remaining within the Top 10 since its debut. The audience and critics loved it, and the show seemed poised for a return, but surprisingly, it would become one of those good shows to end too soon. Bacon took to his Instagram to commiserate with show fans, admitting that he feels "really bummed out" about the cancellation. The star said he loved doing the show and playing Hub, along with working with the talented cast and crew.

Even the actor couldn't provide a reason behind the cancellation, saying, "I wish I had an explanation for you, but I honestly don't."

Bacon starred as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who was murdered on the job and then was brought back to life so he could hunt down demons who have escaped hell and bring them back to the fiery depths. Season 1 debuted on Prime Video on April 3 with all eight episodes.

Last month, Amazon dropped eight episodes of The Bondsman on Prime Video. The show starred Kevin Bacon as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who dies and goes to hell. After that, he's given a second chance at life, provided he works for the devil chasing down demons who have escaped from hell and returning them to the underworld. He's also got to navigate a bunch of family drama. The show also starred Beth Grant, Jennifer Nettles, Damon Herriman, Maxwell Jenkins, and Jolene Purdy.

The show got decent reviews, but it must have not been enough for Amazon, because The Bondsman has been cancelled, according to The A.V. Club.

The action horror series originally debuted its entire eight-episode first season on Prime Video on April 3. Amazon has not released any viewership information for the show, but it did make one appearance on the Nielsen streaming charts the week it debuted.

For the week of March 31-Apr. 6, “The Bondsman” made it to the number nine spot on the Nielsen streaming originals top 10 with 563 million minutes viewed, equivalent to approximately 9.38 million hours.

He stars as Hub Halloran, a murdered bounty hunter who’s resurrected by the Devil to send back demons that have escaped from Hell. With the help of Jennifer Nettles as his estranged wife, Maxwell Jenkins as their son, Beth Grant as his mother, and Jolene Purdy as Hell’s emissary, Hub pursues a second chance at life.

“Because I always come to things from an acting standpoint, it really has to be about the character,” says Bacon.

“Are these people that we can relate to? These people don’t have superpowers. These are regular people who are trying to live their lives. But all of a sudden, there’s this extraordinary situation that they’re thrown into.

The service tries to appeal to a multitude of audience groups, and its next attempt at crowd-pleasing content comes in the form of a new series called “The Bondsman.” The show makes its premiere on Thursday, April 3, but its concept leaves room for doubt as to whether or not critics will go wild for the series.

The Bondsman star Kevin Bacon recently talked about his personal experience of owning a haunted house. According to the Hollywood icon, it was rather fascinating.

During an appearance on Mythical Kitchen's Last Meal, Bacon responded to the notion that there is a non-zero chance that he actually killed a demon in real life after having purchased and demolished what was supposedly a haunted farmhouse. "It wasn't my choice, believe me," Bacon said. "It was the seller, who was not willing to sell this place unless I tore the house down because he believed that it was possessed."

"He had somebody to come by and rid the house of demons, but I guess he thought that didn't work," Bacon explained. "His concern, 'cause he lived across the road, was that if we lived in this house, we would become possessed. Then, the energy of our monsters would come across the road and kill him.

The Bondsman is a fun show with interesting characters. Each one has their own frailties and quirks. There are some nice music choices to go with each episode and plenty of humor. Horror fans will enjoy the action, gore, and intrigue. At times the characters' actions are hard to believe or predictable. I didn’t find that intrusive enough to prevent me from enjoying the show.

To the uneven extent that Amazon’s The Bondsman works, it’s thanks primarily to Kevin Bacon’s effortlessly winning lead turn as Hub Halloran, the titular country musician turned bounty hunter turned undead demon killer.

The star is able to land the show’s humor with a well-timed grunt, and its emotions with the perfect hangdog expression. He looks damn cool when he’s lighting up monsters with his trusty shotgun, but also slightly, endearingly pathetic when he’s not. Such is his charisma that he’s nearly able to make this whole strange jumble of tones and tunes and supernatural gore sing, through sheer force of will.

Nearly, that is, but not quite. Outside of Bacon’s performance, the horror dramedy is more of a mixed bag — fitfully amusing but rarely as funny or heartfelt or surprising as it wants to be, and never as memorable as its...

When you throw in the idea of a protagonist being enlisted to hunt down demons and send them back to Hell, you can count the 1998 Fox series Brimstone and the 2007 CW show Reaper amongst similar concepts. Even Ash vs. Evil Dead had a good balance of the genres, though it did lean more towards comedy, unlike the grim Brimstone. Striking the right amount of levity and chills can...

No one will mistake The Bondsman for the next Supernatural, but it’s the closest we’ve gotten in a while—maybe even the most enjoyable. The new Kevin Bacon series embraces an engaging monster-of-the-week format, featuring demons running amok and serving up a satisfying blend of horror and thriller fun.

It also helps that Kevin Bacon leads the show with his signature laid-back charm and effortless charisma, making him instantly watchable. While The Bondsman takes a few episodes to find its groove, it ultimately becomes a monster mash of thrills, chills, and howls, keeping the story fresh and entertaining for viewers.
