The icons of professional wrestling are paying tribute to the Hulk Hogan, who died Thursday at age 71, reportedly from cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida.
“Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business,” tweeted wrestler Ric Flair. “An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be. He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!”
Sylvester Stallone wrote, “I had the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old. He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky three incredibly special.

Recent rumors indicated that Maga (Make America Great Again) hats were banned at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Disney has confirmed that this is not true and the red and white hats are allowed at the parks.
Where did the rumor come from?
It came from the parody site Mouse Trap News. Honestly, they are great and creating a stir over completely made-up stuff. When the parody is hard to distinguish from reality you know they are nailing it!

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump unveiled Trump Mobile, a new venture that will offer 5G service through major cellular carriers.
Also in the works is a “T1 Phone,” a gold smartphone, albeit customers do not have to have one for the Trump Mobile service.
The president’s sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., both executive vice presidents of the Trump Organization, announced Trump Mobile on Monday, which is the 10-year anniversary of the launch of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
The venture is a licensing arrangement, with T1 Mobile LLC using the Trump name.

Washington — On Saturday, President Donald Trump held a hideously expensive military parade in Washington, D.C., on his birthday. Trump and his top officials stood on a stage at the National Mall behind two tanks, before two large digital American flags. Military bands and troops, some on horses, some in vehicles, some in tanks, others in Howitzers, marched in the streets. So did a few robot dogs. An army parachute team jumped down. Helicopters flew over. Drones flew by. There were many, many tanks.

Donald Trump spoke briefly at the 250th anniversary Army parade, after reviewing a procession of thousands of soldiers in present and past uniforms, an array of military hardware, aerial flyovers and a large fireworks display.
The weather did not interrupt the event, as Trump and members of his administration gathered on an elaborate reviewing stand set up on the Ellipse.
Lee Greenwood sang his standard, “God Bless The USA” and he, like a few others, also wished the president a happy birthday. Trump turned 79 on Saturday.
“Every other country celebrates their victories; it’s about time America did too,” Trump said.

The parade was a celebration not just of the history of the Army, but a nod to its future.

When President Donald Trump hosted the board of the Kennedy Center at the White House on Monday night, the adviser he selected to lead the institution, Ric Grenell, spoke briefly of what he characterized as a “fraud” in the way that the finances of the institution were previously handled.
But the person who Grenell replaced, Deborah Rutter, today called out what she called a “malicious attempt to distort the facts” about her tenure.
“I stand by my assertion that at the time of my departure, the Kennedy Center was fiscally sound, on
track to balance its budget for the year, and positioned to grow its endowment significantly while
serving as a beacon for free artistic expression and a place where everyone could belong,” Rutter said in a statement.

Two non-Equity national theatrical tours – Mrs. Doubtfire and Chicago – are on the 2026 schedule of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., marking a major shift in Kennedy Center policy that comes just two months after President Donald Trump complained about union costs.
A Kennedy Center spokesperson said in a statement to Deadline, “In order for the Kennedy Center to be more competitive in the industry, we are expanding our programming to include both equity and non-equity shows in our theaters and look forward to providing world-class shows to our patrons, regardless of their equity status.”
Richard Grenell, the Kennedy Center president installed by Trump earlier this year, said in a separate statement, “The Kennedy Center is the premiere institution for the arts in America, so we don’t want to limit the shows available to our audiences. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present non-Equity national tours for the first time, beginning with upcoming productions of Mrs. Doubtfire and Chicago. The change marks a significant departure from the venue’s long-standing practice of presenting only union-affiliated Broadway touring productions. The decision comes amid efforts by President Trump to reduce costs associated with union labor at the federally supported arts institution. While touring the Kennedy Center earlier this year, Trump stated that moving away from Equity-affiliated productions would “open up a whole bunch of more options as well as a lot more money.” Trump also publicly criticized expenses tied to the Kennedy Center's agreement with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE). Recalling an incident involving singer Lee Greenwood,...

Bruce Springsteen’s criticisms of Donald Trump last week appear to have triggered the president even further, as he is now calling for an investigation of the superstar singer’s endorsement of Kamala Harris, as well as other entertainers.

Updated, with additional details: On his visit to the Kennedy Center this afternoon, the arts institution’s new chairman of the board, President Donald Trump, was asked by a reporter why it was so important for him to spend his time with the venue and on its lineup.
“You have so much on your plate. Why come here today?” the reporter asked.
Trump answered, “This represents a very important part of D.C., and actually our country, and I think it’s important to make sure that our country is good shape and is represented well. When people look at this — I’ve been hearing for a long time that they come here, and they’re disappointed when they come here. We want them to be excited.”

Donald Trump successfully installed himself as the chairman of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts board this week, and Seth Meyers has a pretty good guess of who the president will name in the next set of Kennedy Center honorees.
To kick off his “A Closer Look” segment on Thursday, Meyers reminded viewers once again that the core issue that helped propel Trump back to the White House was grocery prices, and that voters simply want to be able to afford food.
“And I know it can seem sometimes like Trump is easily distracted by silly stuff, like annexing Greenland, or making Canada the 51st state, or dancing with a sword like he’s in a dinner theater production of ‘Pirates of Penzance,'” Meyers joked, “but I assure you, this man is locked in on the kitchen table issues that matter to the lives of average Americans.”

Updated, with Rutter departure: Donald Trump announced that he has been elected the new chairman of the Kennedy Center, after he ousted about half of the arts organization’s board members who were appointed by Joe Biden.
Trump posted on Truth Social, “President Donald J. Trump was just unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The President stated, “It is a Great Honor to be Chairman of The Kennedy Center, especially with this amazing Board of Trustees. We will make The Kennedy Center a very special and exciting place!”

Updated, with additional comment: Donald Trump continued his takeover of the Kennedy Center today, as he named loyalist Ric Grenell to serve as interim executive director.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I am pleased to announce that Ric Grenell will serve as the Interim Executive Director of The Kennedy Center. Ric shares my Vision for a Golden Age of American Arts and Culture, and will be overseeing the daily operations of the Center. No More Drag Shows, Or Other Anti-american Propaganda — Only The Best. Ric, Welcome To Show Business!”
There is no executive director position at the Kennedy Center. Deborah Rutter currently serves as president of the arts institution, and it is unclear what her status is. In January, she announced plans to step down at the end of the year.
Grenell served as U.S. ambassador to Germany and acting director of national intelligence in Trump’s first administration.

Carrie Underwood sung “America the Beautiful” during the inauguration of Donald Trump on Monday, performing it a capella after a tech glitch over the piped-in music couldn’t be resolved.
The eight-time Grammy winner, the first among the musical performers to be announced ahead of Inauguration Weekend, was introduced following Trump’s swearing-in as the 47th President of the United State and his speech.
There was about a two-minute pause after Underwood was introduced, with the singers standing stage left across the podium from Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance waiting for her music to start. Eventually, after a whisper in her ear from an usher, Underwood told the crowd in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, “You know the words, help me out here,” and she began.

What in the world is Melania Trump wearing?
The First Lady arrived at Trump’s second inauguration wearing an outfit that sent social media into a frenzy, with many making comparisons to the character Carmen Sandiego.
Melania wore a dark outfit (watch the inauguration live stream below) with a hat that seemed taken straight from the 1990s video game heroine that promoted both jokes and some curiosity as to why she opted for such a dark vibe to an event that she would presumably consider a happy occasion.
“I vant to look like Carmen Sandiego at funeral,” as one wag put it, mocking Melania’s Slovenian accent.
But pretty much everyone else made the same joke: “Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?” or “I found Carmen Sandiego!”

The best laid plans for Donald Trump’s inauguration — the pomp and circumstance of the outdoor Capitol swearing-in ceremony followed by a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue — have been stymied by Mother Nature.
With the forecast of Arctic blast moving into Washington on Monday, bringing wind chills in the teens or even lower, Trump said earlier Friday that some of the biggest events will be moved inside.
When Trump and Jd Vance take the Oath of Office, that will be in the Capitol Rotunda, witnessed by a far smaller crowd, perhaps only about 1,000. We don’t need to delve into why, do we?
Donald Trump has been elected President on two separate occasions, yet he’s likely the most polarizing person on the planet — with many believing he’s a racist, a rapist, a fascist or some combination of all these things.

Updated: Oprah Winfrey has tried to tamp down the notion — which has gotten some traction on social media — that she was paid $1 million to endorse Kamala Harris.
The story gained fuel after a Washington Examiner story that cited campaign finance records showing that Oprah Winfrey’s production company, Harpo Productions, was paid a total of $1 million for event production.
There’s a reason that the payment was made: Campaign finance law.
Federal Election Commission rules require campaigns to pay the fair market value for the ancillary costs of holding events — everything from staging to the band to food and drink.
Federal law prohibits corporations from giving directly to a candidate’s campaign, so it would be up to the campaign to reimburse those costs. A performer could pick up the tab herself, but according to the Fec, “when a person or entity pays for services on the committee’s behalf,...

Sylvester Stallone Calls Donald Trump “The 2nd George Washington,” Compares President-Elect To Rocky
During a speech introducing Donald Trump at the America First Policy Institute Gala held in Palm Beach, Fla. at the Mar-a-Lago Club tonight, Sylvester Stallone called the president-elect “the 2nd George Washington.”
“We’re in the presence of a really mythical character,” he said, as captured in a C-span video posted to X. (You can watch it below.) “I love mythology. And this individual does not exist on this planet. Nobody in the world could have pulled off what he pulled off, so I’m in awe.”
He continued, with the out-of-left-field comparison: “When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was gonna change the world. Because without him, you could imagine what the world would look like. Guess what? We got the 2nd George Washington.”

Just before midnight on Nov. 5, Milo Yiannopoulos’ phone rang. On the horn from West Palm Beach, says a source familiar with the matter, was a member of Donald Trump’s family. The caller would soon take the stage at Mar-a-Lago, beaming onstage along with the president-elect as Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” blasted across a room full of supporters awaiting a victory speech. But first, they wanted to personally thank Milo for helping the campaign smear once “useful idiots,” allies no longer wanted in Trump’s orbit, he says. The call — if indeed it happened as described, which, when Yiannopoulos is concerned, is never a given — capped a return from the ash heap for the once-ubiquitous flamboyant far-right rabble-rouser, who shot to notoriety during the first Trump campaign but fell to earth after a series of bruising scandals.

In an episode dedicated to unpacking the 2024 presidential election results, John Oliver’s through-line toward making sense of Kamala Harris’ loss was a running joke pinning the blame on Katy Perry’s “ill-advised” cover of Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All” at a last-minute rally.
While the Last Week Tonight host said that everyone seemed to be spinning their “own personal wheel of blame” to “generally make sure it lands on whoever you were mad at in the first place” — from progressives to bad campaign tactics to key demographics — he has someone else in mind.
“Personally, I kind of would like to imagine that everything that happened on Tuesday is Katy Perry’s fault because at Kamala’s Election Eve rally, she did this ill-advised cover,” he began, playing a clip of the pop singer’s admittedly off-key rendition.

John Oliver has long joked about Donald Trump and how bad a second term would be, but on Sunday night’s episode of “Last Week Tonight” — the final episode before the election — the HBO host got very serious, his voice even cracking from emotion at one point.
For the duration of the show, Oliver zeroed in on Trump’s business ventures, and yes, largely making fun of them and the people who are involved with them. But, to close out his show, he got serious, admitting that he’s talked less about Kamala Harris on the show, albeit for a “pretty clear reason.”
“This could come down to a handful of votes in a handful of states,” he said. “And given that, I’ve been thinking ‘What am I going to be feeling on Wednesday? And is there anything I’m gonna wish I’d said right now?’ So that...

John Oliver got emotional during the final “Last Week Tonight” episode before the U.S. election, urging his viewers to vote for Kamala Harris.
Though Oliver acknowledged that he’s spent a majority of airtime this election season discussing all the reasons not to vote for Donald Trump, he affirmed that he will be voting for Harris on Tuesday — even if her policies aren’t perfect. Born in the U.K., Oliver became an American citizen in 2019 and this year marks his second time voting in a U.S. presidential election.
“Elections alone aren’t efficient for large-scale change, but they’re absolutely necessary for it to ever happen,” Oliver said. “Because it’s the day you essentially get to choose who you’d prefer to be pushing for the next four years and where you’ll be pushing them from.”
Holding back tears, Oliver continued: “Look, I love this country.

Lee Greenwood’s song “God Bless the USA” has long been a staple of naturalization ceremonies for immigrants to the United States, but John Oliver thinks it’s time for a change. So, will the help of Will Ferrell, he’s created an alternative.
To close out his show on Sunday night, Oliver reflected on his own immigration process to the U.S., which indeed ended with a music video for Greenwood’s song. The presence of it got Oliver curious, so he dug into the details of how it came to be a piece of the ceremony.
As it turns out, the government began using it on their own, and when Greenwood found out, his team forced the Uscis into a settlement deal that now sees the singer get $700 a year for use of the song. Naturally, Oliver mocked the move, and most of Greenwood’s attempts to monetize,...

John Oliver enlisted the help of Will Ferrell on Sunday night’s (October 27) Last Week Tonight to introduce a new song to be played at U.S. naturalization ceremonies. As Oliver pointed out on Sunday’s show, when someone becomes a United States citizen, their naturalization ceremony includes a rendition of “God Bless the USA” performed by country singer Lee Greenwood. However, the comedian thought it might be time for a replacement, not least because Donald Trump has somewhat hijacked the song. “I am intimately familiar with the U.S. immigration process, having finally become a citizen in 2019,” Oliver said. “It was a long, stressful process capped by a moving naturalization ceremony.” “While Lee Greenwood has repeatedly claimed his song is apolitical, he definitely isn’t,” the late-night host added. “Honestly, I’m not sure why it’s being played at ceremonies at all? Not just contractually or even musically,...

When someone becomes a citizen of the United States, their naturalization ceremony traditionally features a rendition of Lee Greenwood‘s “God Bless the USA.” On the latest episode of Last Week Tonight, Will Ferrell showcased a potential replacement for Greenwood’s tune.
Host John Oliver spoke about Greenwood’s legacy, poking fun at the conservative country singer’s many career missteps. He then argued against Greenwood’s song being played at the naturalization ceremonies, like his own. “I am intimately familiar with the U.S. immigration process, having finally become a citizen in 2019,” Oliver said.

John Oliver took a jab at — who else? — Donald Trump in the opening segment of Sunday’s Last Week Tonight.
But first, there’s a lot of backstory to explain, for those who missed it, and it all has to do with McDonald’s, which has been in the news a lot of late.
First, an E. coli outbreak was linked to an item on the fast-food chain’s menu in recent days. Initially, it was believed that Quarter Pounders were to blame for at least one death and 75 other customers becoming ill across 13 states. However, on Sunday, McDonald’s said that testing ruled out the beef patties as the cause. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has said it now believes the source of the outbreak is slivered onions. As of Sunday, McDonald’s said it would be putting Quarter Pounders back on the menu but without the onions.
