Question… What do Hugh Jackman, John Travolta, Halle Berry and Don Cheadle have in common? No, we are not talking about how they have all been in comic book movies! They were actually all together in one film that has become a cult classic over the years.
In 2001, Dominic Sena directed an epic thriller entitled Swordfish. It is hard to believe, but this film is coming up on its Silver Anniversary. But before it gets to that anniversary, Arrow Video has decided to give Swordfish a just as epic 4K UltraHD release.
Former master hacker Stanley Jobson (Hugh Jackman) is on parole after getting caught infiltrating an FBI program. Even so much as glancing at a computer could send him straight back to prison,...

Rescue Dawn was a dramatized adaptation of Little Dieter Needs to Fly, Werner Herzog's 1997 documentary. Both films depicted one prisoner of war's harrowing experience after being caught behind enemy territory.
Prime Video is now streaming Rescue Dawn, Werner Herzog's 2006 epic war drama. Based on the true story of German-American pilot Dieter Dengler (played by Christian Bale), the film depicted Dengler's ordeal after being captured in Laos during the Vietnam War. Herzog previously recounted Dengler's story in Little Dieter Needs to Fly, which detailed the suffering Dengler's fellow prisoners endured, including torture. These were depicted in Rescue Dawn but toned down for a PG rating. The sequences were shot in reverse order over 44 days, so Bale and his co-stars can gradually gain weight during filming.

Exclusive: Colin Bates (Queer) and Ella Kennedy Davis (Your Friends and Neighbors) will topline These Little Ones Perish, an indie drama from director Alex Noyer (Sound of Violence), which has wrapped production in New York.
For Noyer, the circumstances surrounding the shoot were extraordinary, as he went to set just one week after losing his home in the devastating Palisades fire that destroyed over 6,000 structures. Hailing from Genco Pictures and You Know Films, the project is an adaptation of the play by Patrick Hamilton, who penned the script.
The story begins after a young altar boy’s tragic death by suicide in a local church. Father Frye (Bates) discovers the body, only to face resistance from the church hierarchy, the local police and the surrounding community. His investigation is driven by the grief and distrust of the boy’s older sister, Siobhan (Davis), as well as the church’s apparent urgency to bury the truth.

The following contains major spoilers from FBI: International Season 4, Episode 8, "You'll Never See It Coming," which debuted Tuesday, Dec. 17 on CBS. It also contains discussion of suicide.
FBI: International Season 4, Episode 8, "You'll Never See It Coming" is a continuation of the story from the Season 4 premiere. It's also a big step down from that episode. In picking up the rivalry between Wes Mitchell and Greg Csonka, the CBS spinoff throws several different genre staples into a blender, and the end result is something that has entertainment value but little else.
"You'll Never See It Coming" sees Csonka, the robbery crew leader Wes and the Fly Team arrested seven episodes ago, brutally beat the young man who was scheduled to testify against him. In trying to salvage their case, the characters are pulled in a bunch of different directions, some of which work and others which don't. And by making fans...

There is a general feeling among movie critics and cinephiles that modern cinema has become too watered down and mild in an effort to appeal to the broadest audiences possible and not offend anyone. In the past, Hollywood studios were much more willing to make mainstream movies that risked provoking outrage from the public. One movie that did so in spades was 1999's Fight Club, starring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter.
Helmed with an uncompromising clarity of vision by director David Fincher, Fight Club was a violent, profane, bleakly satirical take on '90s consumer culture and the disenfranchised generation of middle America entering into adulthood at the time. The movie caused a sensation upon release for all the wrong reasons, even getting heavily censored in some places for its incendiary content.
Over time, Fight Club has gathered a passionate global following and is today regarded as a cult classic masterpiece.

David Fincher hasn't seen his film Fight Club in 20 years and has no desire to revisit it, comparing it to looking at old grade school pictures. Chuck Palahniuk, the author of Fight Club, expressed some reservations about certain elements of the film adaptation but has come to appreciate their fit in the overall cinematic version. Fincher's upcoming project, The Killer, is highly anticipated and features a stellar cast including Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton, with the film set to premiere on Netflix on November 10.
David Fincher's cinematic journey, marked by iconic movies like Se7en and Gone Girl, speaks to his lasting influence in the film world. Among Fincher's many memorable, Fight Club, rooted in Chuck Palahniuk's novel, shines brightest in the pop culture spotlight. While fans never tire of praising the film, it seems Fincher hasn't revisited it in a considerable amount of time. In a candid conversation with...

Author Chuck Palahniuk didn't like the "ticking bomb" countdown in the movie adaptation of Fight Club, finding it to be a trope. China censored the film and changed the ending to suggest that Tyler ended up in a "lunatic asylum" and his plan failed. Palahniuk joked about China's version, saying that everyone gets a happy ending there, but later acknowledged that it aligned more with the ending of his novel.
While chatting with Variety about his latest novel, Not Forever, But For Now, author Chuck Palahniuk revealed the one thing that he didn't like about the movie Fight Club.

August is that tricky time of year. It's not quite fall yet, but summer is on its way out. That can make planning activities for the remainder of the warm season a little challenging. But if you're here reading this article, chances are you're more of a stay-inside-and-stream kind of person. No judgment either way.
Peacock has had a pretty successful 2023 TV lineup so far. They started the year with a bang via the hit Poker Face. The hits continued throughout the spring and summer, with standouts Based on a True Story and the upcoming Twisted Metal. Even Pete Davidson's Bupkis, where he breaks out of typecasting by literally playing Pete Davidson, was an unexpected hit. The fall looks to be lucrative as well, with the John Wick prequel The Continental set for a September bow.

For director Maria Schrader, “She Said” was more than a truthful and thrilling recreation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning, #MeToo-bolstering New York Times report that exposed Harvey Weinstein’s decades of sexual abuse and harassment. It was also about the personal stories of New York Times journalists Jodi Kantor (Zoe Kazan) and Megan Twohey (Carey Mulligan). This made it a more complex and emotionally resonant film about female empowerment and the “crucible of motherhood,” which Schrader’s go-to editor, Hansjörg Weißbrich, leaned into.
“This was an investigative thriller and a more important aspect — their private life and how they got to know each other as a result of the collaboration,” Weißbrich told IndieWire. “This was an additional storyline that wasn’t in the book.”
But that first required Schrader and screenwriter Rebecca Lenkiewicz to gain the trust of Kantor and Twohey, to let them include their struggle with parenting along with...

Plot: New York Times journalists Megan Twohey (Carey Mulligan) and Jodi Kantor (Zoe Kazan) try to break the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault story but are met with opposition from the vast network of silence and intimidation that protected the former Miramax head.
Review: Long before #MeToo, there had been rumblings about what kind of predator Harvey Weinstein was, even far outside Hollywood circles. Yet, even though he was infamous in this regard, he was still celebrated and while people may look back now and say they didn’t know – that’s been proven not to be the case over and over. All this leaves She Said in a tricky position, as it’s a movie about breaking the Harvey Weinstein story produced by a major studio (Universal) inside this system that protected him. To that extent, She Said smartly focuses on the excellent investigative work done by Twohey and Kantor,...

The Good Fight, a sequel to the critically acclaimed show, The Good Wife, premiered its final 6th season on Sept 8th with the finale slated for Nov. 10th. Unlike many other legal shows, from its first season The Good Fight has embraced the gutsier stance of daring to comment on the true political drama of the day through its expert storytelling and evolution of its characters.
The realistic backdrop of events, whether it be the Presidential election or Supreme Court rulings, breathe life into the characters who portray life-like people with strong stances such as the heroine, Diane Lockhart and other season regulars. Looking at the main characters of The Good Fight and how they would be perceived by audiences in terms of likability is intrinsic to understanding and enjoying the show.

This article contains spoilers for a major plot point in "Devs."
As a filmmaker, Alex Garland has shown himself adept at tackling profound questions while maneuvering between science fiction and horror, sometimes within the same movie. You can see it carried forward from his early screenwriting projects like "28 Days Later" and "Sunshine," to later directorial efforts like "Annihilation" and "Men."
In 2020, Garland made the jump to streaming TV with "Devs," an Emmy-nominated FX on Hulu miniseries starring his previous "Ex Machina" collaborator, Sonoya Mizuno, along with Nick Offerman, Jin Ha, Alison Pill, Cailee Spaeny, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zach Grenier, Jefferson Hall, and Karl Glusman. Although their characters are all smooth talking legal experts on Paramount+ series “The Good Fight,” occasionally, some of the actors flub a line or two. And this is documented hilariously in this gag reel clip from the DVD release of Season 5, exclusive to TheWrap.
Mandy Patinkin, who plays Judge Wackner, is first up in the video, combining recess and research into a brand new word. Then Jane Curtin, who plays Judge Farley, replaces one defendant’s name for another. You can see more of the moments that left the cast chuckling in the video at the top of this page.
“The Good Fight” Season 5 drops May 3 on DVD, spanning three discs. It will also included deleted scenes.

Mandy Patinkin’s Judge Hal Wackner, the latest kooky character on the Paramount+ series “The Good Fight,” makes his litigants end each lawsuit by saying to one another, “I respect and I love you.” Critics have shared the exact same sentiment about this criminally underrated series, which has been earning some of the best notices of its entire run for its brilliantly bizarre fifth season that wraps up on Thursday.
Its new characters, including Patinkin’s Wackner and Charmaine Bingwa‘s enigmatic new lawyer Carmen Moyo, topical episodes on medical racism in the treatment of Covid-19 and hilarious, moving visits from historical figures like Elaine May’s Ruth Bader Ginsberg have earned the plaudits of critics. Kevin Fallon (Daily Beast) calls the season “flawless,” writing that the show is “having what may be its best season ever,” including “the most thrilling stretch of episodes in a TV series this year.

By the time you’re done screening The Good Fight‘s Season 5 trailer, you might have the same question as Zach Grenier’s David Lee: “What the f—k is going on?”
The two-minute promo (embedded above) teases more of the legal drama’s slightly absurdist storytelling, including the addition of Mandy Patinkin’s peculiar new judge, appropriately named Hal Wackner. When Hal decides to open his own courtroom in the back of a copy shop — a venture he describes as Little Rascals-esque — Marissa (Sarah Steele) and the firm become entangled with Hal’s endeavor, which looks even more bizarre than it sounds.

Exclusive: The Good Fight is getting a high-profile new cast addition for Season 5. Emmy and Tony winner Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) is joining the praised Paramount+ drama series as a series regular with a one-year deal.
Patinkin will play Hal Wackner, a layman with no legal training who spontaneously decides to open a court in the back of a copy shop. Against all odds, the court catches on, and the team at Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart find themselves contending with judgements that mean nothing legally, but are honored by much of the entertained public.
This marks Patinkin’s return to television following his eight-season run as CIA vet Saul Berenson on Showtime’s Homeland, which landed him a Golden Globe nomination and four out of his seven Emmy nominations. Patinkin won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role as Dr. Jeffrey Geiger on CBS’ Chicago Hope.

Ray Donovan fans will, after all, get a satisfactory ending to their favorite Showtime series.
The fixer is returning in a feature-length film, which will pick up where season seven left off after its surprise cancellation last year.
Liev Schreiber will return as Donovan and will co-write the script with series showrunner David Hollander, who will direct. Jon Voight will also reprise his role as Mickey Donovan, as will Kerris Dorsey as Ray’s daughter Bridget.
Production is tentatively scheduled to begin later this year in New York.
It comes after Showtime made the surprise decision to end the series in February 2020 with its seventh season. Hollander admitted that the show’s creative team had been blindsided by the decision and Schreiber took to social media to promise that “there will be more Ray Donovan”. The actor has kept his promise.

Exclusive: Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart has made a new attorney hire. Charmaine Bingwa (Black Box) is joining the cast of CBS All Access/Paramount+’s drama The Good Fight as a series regular in the upcoming fifth season.
She will play Carmen Moyo, a tough, unsentimental, young lawyer whose working-class background allows her to bond with Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart’s most infamous, difficult clients.
“We are thrilled that Charmaine is bringing her enormous talents to The Good Fight ensemble,” co-creators/executive producers Michelle and Robert King said. “The moment that we saw her audition, we knew that we had found our Carmen, and we can’t wait to start writing for her in Season 5.”
Bingwa is expected to fill the void left by the departure of original cast member Cush Jumbo who, along with fellow original star Delroy Lindo, exited as series regulars at the end of Season 4.

On election night 2016, CBS All Access’ “The Good Fight” was filming its pilot episode, which had baked into its premise the assumption that Hillary Clinton would win the presidency. Her loss not only inspired the show’s opening scene, in which Christine Baranski’s feminist attorney Diane Lockhart watches Donald J. Trump’s inauguration aghast, but also proved kismet for the series, which fast became the most incisive political satire of the Trump era. With Trump’s tenure now ended, will Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild voters finally honor this delightfully bonkers legal thriller with first-ever nominations?
Although perennially overlooked at the Primetime Emmy Awards, “The Good Fight” has been a mainstay at the Critics’ Choice Awards. It just nabbed nominations for Best Drama Series and Best Actress for Baranski, bringing its total haul to 10 nominations over its four seasons. Though those previous nominations haven’t translated to corresponding...

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until July 13 to cast their 2020 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for programs (save for animated documentary/nonfiction which are restricted to their peer groups). Unlike the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally. In the past, voters were limited in the number of programs that they could put forth. Three years ago that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted.
While there has been an explosion in the number of comedy and drama series recently, the limited series genre had been almost static. There were 25 entries in 2015, 26 in 2016 and 25 again in 2017. But there has been an uptick as of late, with 33 such shows submitted in 2018, 35 last year and 41 for this awards cycle. Even so, with five nominees for Best Limited Series, the odds for each of the entries detailed below is pretty good.

Stephen King isn’t afraid to throw out recommendations for movies and television shows to watch, to the extent that we’ve recently compiled a list of all the Netflix titles he’s ever suggested. Indeed, just a few weeks ago, King was talking up Da 5 Bloods, Spike Lee’s feature for the streaming platform. But he’s also given the thumbs up this week to the Alex Garland Hulu/FX series Devs, which has been winning praise since launching back in March this year.
The author had to this to say on Twitter about Devs:
“Devs (Hulu/FX) is brainy, beautiful, and mind-bending. I was totally engrossed. If you decide to watch, go into it cold, knowing nothing. Better that way.”
Garland’s show focuses on a software engineer working for a Silicon Valley tech company who begins investigating her boyfriend’s apparent suicide, believing that there...
