Marvel's What If...? Nebula Episode Almost Had A Tragic Ending
Image
This article contains spoilers for "What If...?" season 2.

"What If...?" season 2 only just premiered on Disney+ and brought with it another round of fascinating adventures through the multiverse. The Marvel Cinematic Universe could have turned out any number of ways -- had certain characters made different choices along the way. This new season kicks off with a Nebula-focused episode titled "What If... Nebula Joined the Nova Corps?" As the title implies, it sees the adopted daughter of Thanos taking something of a hero's turn as a member of the Nova Corps. But that gritty hero's journey almost wandered down a dark path.

Showrunner A.C. Bradley recently sat down with IGN to break down the show's second season. In discussing the season premiere, which was written by Matthew Chauncey, Bradley explained that the whole thing came about simply because the show's creatives love Karen Gillan's work as Nebula (and...

Every MCU Actor Replaced In Marvel's What If...? Season 2
Image
Warning: This article contains spoilers for What If...? season 2.

Several MCU actors did not reprise their roles in What If...? season 2, with new voice actors taking over. Characters such as Nova Prime, Drax, Mar-Vell, Gamora and Odin were voiced by different actors in What If...? season 2. Lake Bell, Mick Wingert, and Josh Keaton once again impressed with their portrayals of Black Widow, Iron Man, and Captain America, respectively.

While many MCU actors returned in What If...? season 2 to voice their animated counterparts, several others have been replaced by new voice actors. What If...? season 2 premiered on December 22, 2023, exploring new worlds across the McU's multiverse, and debuting new and familiar variants of some of Marvel Studios' most iconic superheroes and villains. Similarly to 2021's What If...? season 1, many actors from the MCU returned in What If...? season 2, reprising their roles despite playing different versions of their characters. However, a selection of...

Wilson Cruz, Robinne Fanfair, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Blu del Barrio, Sonequa Martin-Green, David Ajala, and Mary Wiseman in Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers for “Forget Me Not” and Short Treks’ “Calypso.”

In Star Trek: The Original Series, when the USS Enterprise computer randomly started calling everyone “dear” in the episode “Tomorrow Is Yesterday,” Kirk and Spock considered a minor annoyance and programming error. But, when the computer of the USS Discovery started getting more friendly with Saru in the Discovery episode “Forget Me Not,” it’s the first step towards a larger evolution. And, if you’ve seen the Short Treks episode “Calypso,” then you know how that evolution will eventually play out. Here’s what the emergence of the Discovery computer means, and how this journey foreshadows a potentially huge plot development we’ve already seen and begins to explain one of the biggest mysteries in Discovery canon.

When the ship’s computer recommends that Saru “share a meal” with the crew, and talks to...

With filmmaker Dennis Dugan as emcee, World of Dance’ Derek Hough as a speaker, Youtube music sensation Alex Boyé performing, and Power 106 FM and Los Angeles magazine as media partners, the 20th annual Alive & Running Walk/Run for Suicide Prevention surpassed its goal, raising over $425,000 for Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services’ Suicide Prevention Center.

Dennis Duggan and Derek Hough

The record-breaking event, which wrapped up Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month, took place on Sunday, Sept. 30 and drew over 2,200 participants. This year’s Alive & Running also marked the 60th year that the Suicide Prevention Center has been saving lives.

“The fact that so many of you are out here this morning bringing more awareness and bringing more support is incredible,” said Derek Hough, who lost his uncle to suicide in his teens. “The more we talk about it, the more tangible it becomes, and the more tangible it becomes, the more we can help it,...

Wonder Woman Promo Teases New Epilogue Scene For Blu-Ray Release
As we prepare for the digital release of the hit film Wonder Woman on August 29th, a brief teaser for a previously unseen ‘Epilogue’ scene has arrived on Twitter – focusing on the character of Etta Candy, played by Lucy Davis. Details of the scene have already been announced, but this snippet is our first glimpse of a moment that’s potentially very significant for the cohesion of the DC Extended Universe.

Titled Etta’s Mission, it’s been previously reported that “Etta Candy gets the boys back together for a secret mission that could impact humanity’s future.” Now, we can see that Sameer (Said Taghmaoui) and Charlie (Ewen Bremner) are the boys in question, and Etta seems to assemble them in the same London pub in which Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) and Diana (Gal Gadot) found them in the movie.

The aspect of this epilogue that’s most intriguing...

Review: DC Super Hero Girls: Intergalactic Games
What a great time to be a grandparent (or so I’m told). There are now plenty of books, games, clothing, and video to encourage girls to be strong and independent. DC Comics offers up their Super Hero Girls line and this week they have released their second animated feature, DC Super Hero Girls: Intergalactic Games, a 77-minute romp.

Writer Shea Fontana improves on the first offering with a story set at the Intergalactic Games where Earth’s powered women take on the vile challengers from Korugar Academy. To prepare for the competition Academy teacher Doc Magnus (Phil Lamarr) is building battlebots and supervising Batgirl (Mae Whitman) and Bumblebee (Teala Dunn) as they build their own. Principal Waller (Yvette Nicole Brown) is not amused nor is she happy that Magnus’ bots seem to have free will but were not programmed with any morality, a theme that plays out across the 77-minute fast-paced story.

The Life & Times of Tim: Steve Dildarian Talks About TV Show's Future
Recently, fans of HBO's The Life & Times of Tim were surprised to hear that HBO had cancelled the animated TV show after two seasons. The show's creator, Steve Dildarian, was just as surprised when he got the news a couple months ago but, as far as he's concerned, Tim's story is far from over.

The Life & Times of Tim follows Tim (Dildarian), a self-conscious and unassuming guy who works for a big corporation. Unfortunately, he often finds himself caught in the middle of bizarre and embarrassing situations. His friends are Stu (Nick Kroll) and Rodney (Matt Johnson) and he works under "The Boss" (Peter Giles), an egotistical and uncaring employer. At home, Tim lives with his type-a girlfriend, Amy (Mj Otto), and is friends with an aging prostitute (Bob Morrow), the one person who truly understands him. Other voice actors include Edie McClurg, Julianne Grossman,...

Julianne Grossman
With the 2004-05 development season winding down, NBC Universal TV Studio already is setting sights on its next cycle, signing playwright-performer Julianne Grossman in a development deal to create a comedy series project based on her one-woman show From Bonkers to Botox. Bonkers, written and performed by Grossman and produced by Grossman and Diana Stein, is described as a dark comedy which chronicles a young woman's three suicide attempts and as many hospitalizations in various psychiatric wards. After debuting at the Stella Adler Studio Theatre in Hollywood in April 2004, the show was featured at this year's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo., where it caught the eye of NBC Uni TV comedy exec Renate Radford.
