Jim Gulliford
Jim Gulliford is originally from Chicago where he has performed in many local theatre plays. His love for acting started in a 5th grade play, he then auditioned for every play he could after that.......and was offered every part he auditioned for! Each role seemed to strengthen his hunger for acting. After moving to Phoenix in 1988, Jim continued his love for acting by enrolling in acting classes from various schools and teachers. After being in several more local plays and continuing his training, he wanted to expand his career into film and television. Since 1993, he worked with filmmaker Tiffany Dang in her college project, "Horror of Love," feature film trailer, "Regrets," short film, "Torn" (won Best Asian-American Romantic Short at the 1998 New York International Independent Film & Video Festival), TV pilot, "Half-Sis," and a romantic comedy feature, "Deceitfully Funny." His big break came in 2002 as he starred in a feature film, "Sometimes Sorrow Looks Like Elaine". Jim started to find that he was busy to the point where schedules conflicted and had to turn down some projects. But this was viewed as a good thing because that meant that he was keeping very busy. Jim then performed in another feature, "The Donut-Chronicles" in Sedona. He then returned to the stage and performed in "The Audition Room" at the Metro Arts Theatre directed by his long time teacher, coach, and friend Raymond Shurtz. Then came a feature film called "Downsized" that will was filmed in Las Vegas, Lake Powell and Phoenix. Last summer he had a short part in the film "How to be a Hit man". He is working on the film "Surface to Air" to be shot in Scottsdale, Las Vegas, and New Mexico. He is represented by FORD/Robert Black and has been in many other independent films as well as several commercials locally and nationally.
