On March 27, 2025, Abs-cbn‘s Film Archives and Restoration and Ayala Malls launched A Rewind, their retrospective feature partnership which aims to make “timeless films accessible to the wider audience” according to their press release. This is a great opportunity to launch retrospective screens in commercial movie theaters because the practice is quite rare in the Philippines. They chose to begin with a film titled “Kailan Ka Magiging Akin.”
Released in 1991 by Vision Films, a company that was subsequently absorbed by the film giant, Star Cinema, “Kailan Ka Magiging Akin” adapts for the screen a popular serial radio drama. The title refers to a drama between characters whose motivations center on one child. Dolor (Janice de Belen) is hired by Jaime (Eddie Gutierrez) to temporarily take care of the child adopted by his cousin, Adul (Vivian Velez). On the side of this set up are two women with extreme attitudes toward...

Edward and Bella Breaking Dawn Withdrawal? A Twilight Musical.
Just when you thought you wouldn’t make it to November for your next Twilight fix, Edward, Bella, and the rest of the Forks gang are headed to the stage, and you only have to wait until January 16.
First, let’s get the bad news out of the way. Twilight: The Musical is a one-shot show that will be presented at New World Stages on January 16 at 8Pm, according to Playbill, but it sounds like it will be an interesting evening if you happen to be in the neighborhood because you get two blockbuster franchises rolled into one.
In addition to the cast performing characters such as Bella, Rosalie, Alice, and Jasper, a couple of magical appearances will occur when Harry Potter and Hermione also show up. Yes, it’s the crossover we’ve all been waiting for as vampires and wizards finally meet.

If you’ve never heard of the band The Drums, good news: You can still get in to them now before they blow da f*ck up. This summer, they opened for Kings of Leon, and managed to remain bird-sh*t-in-the-mouth-free. This alone is a feat. The band has a brand new music video out for their haunting song “Down by the Water.” Catch it now before it is used in the next Julia Roberts and/or Joseph Gordon-Levitt trailer.
