"This can't be happening, this can't be real." Sony Pictures has posted an official trailer for a zany comedy series called Stags, created by Daniel Cullen. This originally premiered last year in the UK on Paramount+. It's now available to watch streaming in the US exclusively on the PlayStation Plus network in Sony Pictures Core. Stags is actually a 6-episode series (not a movie!) that follows groom-to-be Stu and his friends on his stag do trip down to South America. One review calls it "the exhilarating, gorgeous tale of eight idiots." Ha. Stu's stag do in South America goes bad when Greg collapses at customs and is found to be full of cocaine. Arrested, the group are taken to an island prison run by cocaine-smuggling siblings, Selma & Branco. Things go from very bad to much worse... Paramount+ has teamed up with Sex Education producer Eleven to make a series about a bachelor party that ends up with the revelers in prison.

Filming has commenced on the UK original, which is titled Stags and stars Nico Mirallegro (Passenger), Charlie Cooper (This Country), and Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing).

Other members of the ensemble cast include Corin Silva, Sophie Lenglinger, Paul Forman, Jojo Macari, Cavan Clerkin, Paulina Galvez, and Oscar Foronda.

Here’s the log line: “The six-part series follows groom-to-be Stu (Mirallegro) and his friends on his stag do in South America. What was meant to be a week of drink, debauchery and fun takes a dark turn. Instead of boarding a flight back to the UK, the stags are sent to a lawless prison island run by two warring siblings.

“Quickly it becomes clear that the stags need to pick a side to have any chance of survival.

However, her return is far from joyful considering once she’s checked herself and Annalee into a seedy motel and put the little one to bed, she makes a half-hearted attempt to turn a trick in the car park which goes horrifically wrong when a local sheriff (Shiloh Fernandez), arrests her, rapes her, and then calls his buddies to come over and have a turn. Desperation Road, directed by Nadine Crocker, explores guilt, shame, and revenge in the Deep South through the story of a struggling single mother and a man recently released from prison. While the screenplay by the author of the source material and the talented cast are commendable, the movie falls short of capturing the depth and evocative nature of Michael Farris Smith's novel. The performances, particularly Willa Fitzgerald as the weary Maben and her bond with her daughter, provide an engrossing and heartfelt aspect to the film, though some plot elements feel muddled and characters lack development.

Spectrum Originals has released the official trailer for the crime dramedy series “Panhandle.” The release date of the series’ first two episodes on Spectrum is Sept. 26.

The eight-episode series follows armchair detective Bell Prescott (Luke Kirby) and traffic cop Cammie Lorde (Tiana Okoye) as they investigate a murder in their small Florida town.

Along with Kirby and Okoye, the series stars Forrest Goodluck, Lorenza Izzo, Wallace Smith, Glenn Morshower and Lesley Ann Warren. Recurring guest stars include Melanie Minichino, Landon Chase DuBois, Mo Gallini, David De Vries, Deja Dee, Paulina Gálvez, Scott Takeda and Grant Freely.

“Panhandle” is created and written by executive producers Nick Stoller and Carla Kettner, with Conor Welch also executive producing. Colin Bucksey will direct and executive produce the pilot episode. Sony Pictures Television Studios produces.
