Movistar Plus+ da por concluido el rodaje de Yakarta, su nueva serie original creada por Diego San José y codirigida por Elena Trapé, el propio Javier Cámara, que ya había dirigido con anterioridad episodios de las series Rapa, Vamos Juan y Venga Juan, y Fernando Delgado-Hierro, quien también firma el guion junto a Diego San José y Daniel Castro (Un hípster en la España vacía).

Yakarta sigue a Joserra (Cámara), un desilusionado profesor de educación física –exjugador olímpico de bádminton– que sobrevive dando clases de educación física en un instituto público de Vallecas. Divorciado y sin ilusiones, Joserra cree haber encontrado su billete de salida cuando descubre a Mar (Quílez), una joven promesa del bádminton que podría llevarle hasta Yakarta, donde los jugadores como él son tratados como estrellas. The 2025 Athena Film Festival has revealed this year’s festival award recipients and the 2025 Athena List, its Black List-inspired selection of unproduced screenplays focused on female leadership.

This year’s Breakthrough Award, in partnership with Netflix, goes to We Strangers writer-director Anu Valia. The $25,000 prize is given to a feature-length film directed by a first- or second-time filmmaker without a U.S. theatrical distribution deal.

The Chinonye Chukwu Emerging Writer Award goes to Vasundhara Koshy for The Laburnum House. The $10,000 prize, distributed in partnership with Christine A. Schantz, is designed to help a feature-length writer who previously participated in an Athena Film Festival Writers Lab develop their script. The award is named for the Clemency writer-director whose script for the acclaimed Alfre Woodard-starring death-row drama was on the Athena List.

Ha comenzado varias localizaciones de Madrid el rodaje de la segunda temporada de Poquita fe, la serie original Movistar Plus+ creada por Montero y Maidagán y dirigida por Pepón Montero.

En la segunda temporada de Poquita fe han pasado tres meses. Con la crisis de pareja aún sin resolver, a Berta y José Ramón les echan del piso. Después de mucho buscar, un vecino del barrio les ofrece por un módico precio un piso al lado del que tenían, pero no estará libre hasta dentro de seis meses. Deciden esperar y, durante ese tiempo, irse a vivir con los suegros. Un día llega la cuñada, que también se ha quedado sin casa y se instala allí con ellos. Convivir con la familia, ya sea la familia política o la propia, es una prueba de fuego para cualquier pareja.

Alejandro Amenábar’s While At War leads the nominations for Spain’s 34th Goya Academy Awards but will face-off against Pedro Almodóvar’s Pain And Glory at the ceremony on January 25 in Malaga.

Amenábar’s Spanish Civil War drama has secured 17 nominations while Almodóvar’s semi-autobiographical film has 16 nods.

While At War has proved a box office hit following its debut at Toronto, ranking as Spain’s third highest-grossing domestic film of 2019 and taking more than $11.3m to date.
