The upcoming My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's TV anime series published a new piece of key art for the series today, following the previous release of a new trailer on July 16 . The series broadcasts in Japan beginning in October 2025. The series began serialization on Shousetsuka ni Narou in January 2017. Japanese publisher Overlap began releasing the novel's print edition featuring illustrations by Tozai in its Overlap Bunko imprint starting November 2017, with four volumes available in Japan to date. The novel's manga adaptation, illustrated by Hiroyuki Aigamo, began on the publisher's Comic Gardo website in July 2018, with six volumes released to date. Nobuyoshi Habara directs the TV anime adaptation at animation studio Sunrise. The official website for the upcoming My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's anime released its first main trailer today. The TV anime adaptation of the isekai fantasy light novel series created by Matsuri Akai (story) and Tozai (art) is scheduled to premiere in Japan in October 2025 . The clip features the anime's opening theme song "Issen" (Flash") for the first time, performed by Japanese virtual duo Vesperbell , which consists of Yomi and Kasuka . This is the first time that they have performed a theme song for an anime series.
