D. Gregor Hagey is a Canadian Cinematographer. He studied Film at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario. During Gregor's start he worked as a PA on Searching for Bobby Fischer. He was so inspired by Conrad Hall's work that he decided to pursue Cinematography as a career instead of Directing. In his graduating year at Ryerson he was nominated for best student cinematography at the TVO Telefest Awards (1993). Gregor worked in the lighting department on many feature films and TV shows before becoming a Cinematographer full-time. He became a full member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers in 2008. In 2001 Gregor shot the first HD feature in Canada, Rub & Tug (Don McKellar). He was also an an early adopter of the Red One digital camera in Canada (the short films Feel My Pain, Love & Justice and Sir Francis Drake all shot in 2007). Gregor has received much recognition for his work from the Canadian Screen Awards, the CSC Awards and other organizations.
