Marvel's next MCU saga might not be the one we hoped for after all
Image
What do we want in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? We want mutants, and more importantly, the X-Men! When are we getting it?! No one knows.

We’ve seen clues of mutants' inevitable to the MCU arrival in the Multiverse Saga through titles such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Marvels, Ms. Marvel, and more. However, other than the past actors from 20th Century Fox X-Men franchise appearing in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, there hasn’t been confirmation of when we’ll see Marvel’s Mightiest Mutants taking center stage. Sadly, this won’t be an article that gives hope for an upcoming mutant-led project.

Although Marvel Studios Preisdent Kevin Feige previously revealed that the "Mutants Era" would be the next chapter of the MCU that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be titled "The Mutants Saga". And now, a new report has cast doubt on just...

'I Definitely Cried': Avatar: Legend of Korra Star Reveals Series' Most Vulnerable Moment
Image
The Legend of Korrastar Janet Varney opens up about one of the show's deepest -- and most vulnerable -- scenes, both for her character as well as in the recording booth.

During the latest episode of Braving the Elements, the official Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise rewatch podcast, Varney discussed a key moment from the sequel series in which Korra collapses in Tenzen's arms, crying. When asked by Zuko voice actor Dante Basco if she remembered recording the scene, Varney replied, "I do, because that was the first time, on this show, I cried. And I remember [voice director] Andrea [Romano] was so, like, kind."

Avatar: Legend of Korra Voice Actor Opens Up About 'Vulnerable' Scene With J. K. Simmons

"Luckily this was the last scene of the episode," Varney continued, "So I think she cleared everybody out, so it was just J. K. [Simmons] and me... And I just remember her being very kind.

The MCU X-Men announcement we've been waiting for is finally here
Image
Ever since the inception of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have been asking for the Mutants to make their grand entrance and share the screen with the likes of Iron Man and Captain America. Unfortunately, Disney and Marvel Studios didn't have the rights to the live-action adaptation of the beloved group of characters, and it seemed like they were never getting it back. Instead, Fox was in charge of bringing the X-Men to life on the big screen, and it was that way for many years... until 2017 came and superhero fans were treated to a rather unexpected surprise.

Disney announced its plans to acquire Twenty-First Century Fox, and in 2019, it finally became a reality. As simple as that, the Mutants weren't isolated from other superheroes anymore, and we've been slowly watching them appear in more and more MCU projects ever since. Storn stole the spotlight in What If...? Season...

Neve Campbell Confirmed To Voice Polaris In X-men '97 Season 2
Image
Yesterday, we reported on a rumor that Scream star Neve Campbell had been cast as Polaris in an upcoming Marvel project. We didn't have much more to go on initially, but it was assumed that she would wither play the character in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, or appear in Avengers: Doomsday alongside the returning 20th Century Fox era actors.

A trusted source later reached out to tell us that Campbell would actually be voicing Polaris in season 2 of the X-Men '97 animated series, which former showrunner Beau DeMayo has now confirmed.

Incorrect. I cast her as Polaris in Season 2 of #xmen97. She does amazing work bringing something new, and felt right to have a 90s icon pick up where Lorna’s story was left in “Cold Comfort.”

Avatar: The Last Airbender Casting Director Reveals Why Original Cast Isn't Returning for New Movie

The casting director for The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbenderdiscusses not bringing back the original series' voice cast for the next Avatar animated feature.

In a Reddit Ama session, official casting director Jenny Jue answered fans' questions about Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action adaptation, Snowpiercer and other productions, including the upcoming animated feature The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender. When asked why the original voice cast didn't return for the upcoming film, Jue explained, "Since the original show was released, there’s been more emphasis in Vo to match actors’ ethnic/racial background to the characters they’re portraying. Atla is a fictional world, but there are cultural influences for each nation/kingdom, and we wanted to explore the talent from those groups."

15 Best Voice Actors Of All Time, Ranked
Image
Most of Hollywood's biggest talents are known by their faces. However, a notable few are beloved for their voice. In the often underappreciated art of voice acting, a host of otherwise unrecognizable names have helped define pop culture institutions and inspire generations of viewers by lending their vocals to characters we all know and love. From Homer Simpson to SpongeBob SquarePants, the voice actor is a foundational part of the entertainment ecosystem, yet they rarely see the same spotlight that live-action stars receive almost daily.

In rectification of that, let's recognize a who's who of voice acting legends by counting down the best voice actors of all time. As you can imagine, the specific rankings in this list are arbitrary, as all of these folks are exceptionally talented and largely for the same reasons. There are also plenty of folks we don't have the digital real estate to include, so...

The Real Reason Why Marvel's Wolverine And The X-Men Was Canceled On A Massive Cliffhanger
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

2008-2012 was a great yet frustrating era to be a fan of Marvel cartoons. That brief period of time saw the premiere of some of the very best television that's ever adapted Marvel Comics: "The Spectacular Spider-Man," "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes," and "Wolverine and the X-Men." I both blame and cherish these shows for making me a true Marvel Comics fan.

Yet, all these truly marvelous shows concluded prematurely for infuriating bureaucratic reasons. "Spectacular Spider-Man" ended when Sony ceded some Spider-Man television rights back to Marvel. Meanwhile, "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" was canned to make way for the far inferior (and Marvel Cinematic Universe-synergistic) "Avengers Assemble." Lastly, "Wolverine and the X-Men" never made it to season 2 because the show's financing fell apart.

Series writer-producer Joshua Fine confirmed as much in a 2011 interview. Even worse, season 2 was already in production; it had a season outline,...

X-Men '97 Gets Disappointing Season 2 Update
Image
X-Men ‘97 was one of last year’s breakout hits, tapping into the nostalgia of the original series, while also modernizing it and adapting it with great success. Unfortunately, it has disappointingly been announced that fans still have a while to wait before Season 2 gets here.

Per ComicBook.com, Marvel’s head animation honcho, Brad Winderbaum, has confirmed that the acclaimed series won’t be returning for its sophomore season until 2026. "Season 2 of X-Men ’97 is going to be in ’26. We’re working on it now. It’s exciting," explained Winderbaum, who is the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel. The news comes as a tremendous disappointment to fans, as it means they will have to wait nearly two full years for the resolution to Season 1’s cliffhangers.

X-men '97: Marvel's Brad Winderbaum Confirms That Season 2 Won't Arrive Until 2026
Image
Late last year, a rumor did the rounds that the highly-anticipated second season of X-Men '97 wouldn't premiere until 2026, and the lengthy wait has now been confirmed by Marvel's Brad Winderbaum.

"Season 2 of X-Men ‘97 is going to be in ‘26. We're working on it now," Winderbaum tells Collider. "It's exciting. That world of the ‘90s is just… Honestly, I can't believe they let me make it. I grew up at Marvel, as you know, clocked a lot of time here, and I feel like I used a lot of currency to revive this thing that I loved watching after school. So, the fact that we get to play in that universe with those actors is honestly why I went into this business in the first place."

When asked if we could expect more animated shows - and possibly a feature - to be announced soon, Winderbaum played it a little closer to the vest.

Mass Effect TV Show Return Gets Eager Response From FemShep Actor: “I Think They’d Be Really Smart…”

While the show is still in the early stages of its development, Jennifer Hale is already weighing in on potentially returning for the Mass Effect TV adaptation. Hale, a highly regarded voice actor, starred in the first three games of the sci-fi RPG franchise as the female version of Commander Shepherd, as the lead character came with both a male and female option for players to choose. Development on a Mass Effect adaptation began regaining steam after shifting to TV on Prime Video with F9: The Fast Saga's Daniel Casey set to write the show.

In November, Amazon revealed they’re working on a Mass Effect TV series. Jennifer Hale, the voice behind Commander Shepard, recently told Eurogamer she’s eager to join the project and hopes the original cast can be part of it too.

That was such a gift, and it’s a gift I will always be extremely joyful to receive.’ One big question, though, is whether Shepard in the show will be male or female.

7 Disney+ shows that definitely won't be back in 2025

As we look ahead to the new year, Disney+ is gearing up to release exciting new content for its global audience. We're talking about shows such as Goosebumps: The Vanishing, Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again and Andor season 2. However, for various reasons, there are some Disney+ shows that won't be returning with additional installments in the new year.

It could be because they were billed as miniseries, meaning that they were designed to conclude after only one season, which wrapped up this year. Another reason for them not returning could be that they won't be finished with the filmmaking process in time to make a 2025 release. There are also some Disney+ shows that won't be back next year because they ended or were canceled this year. Whatever the reason for them not returning, we're definitely going to miss them!

Sadie Sink Reportedly Wanted to Play Jean Grey in McU's X-Men Group
Image
The hunt is on for a new wave of actors to play the X-Men in the MCU, and although there certainly seems to be potential plans to have both new and old stars of the franchise involved in the cataclysmic Avengers: Secret Wars, a new name has been thrown into the mix about one of the new faces reportedly being considered for the role of Jean Grey. Previously played by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner, according to a report from Jeff Sneider, Stranger Things breakout Sadie Sink could be the next in line to play the incredibly powerful character.

Naturally, this kind of rumor should be handled as some kind of wayward multiverse variant of the truth until it is confirmed or denied by Marvel Studios. It is likely to be one of many such rumors to come in the near future as the MCU gears up to welcome the...

Stranger Things Star Rumored for Major Role in the McU's X-Men Reboot
Image
It's known that the X-Men are coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point, but it has yet to be officially announced exactly when the characters will appear. However, a new rumor has emerged about one of the main characters in the McU's inevitable X-Men reboot, suggesting that the cast may finally be getting put together.

According to film scooper Jeff Sneider of The InSneider, Sadie Sink has become the frontrunner to play the new Jean Grey in the MCU. The report has not been addressed by Marvel Studios, Sink, or anyone directly involved at this time, but the rumor has nevertheless already gotten a lot of fans buzzing on social media. It's unclear if Sink is actually in talks to take on the role, or if she's been formally offered the part. If the project is in the midst of getting cast, this will likely be the first...

Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool (2016)
Marvel has officially confirmed beloved show won't return in 2025
Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool (2016)
There are a lot of Marvel Studios projects to look forward to in 2025. That's certainly a good thing, because as great as the offerings from the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been this year, there haven't been that many of them. We had Echo at the beginning of the year on Disney Plus, Deadpool and Wolverine released in theaters this summer, and Agatha All Along closed things out with a spookily sensational run on Disney Plus that had the world guessing the whole way throughout.

The third and final season of What If...? is set to premiere this holiday season, and separate animated series X-Men '97 enjoyed a critically-acclaimed run earlier this year. It's been a good year for Marvel, but there were also a number of titles that were supposed to release this year that didn't due to delays.

Many of them will be coming out next year instead, as...

One Of The Best Sci-Fi Video Games Of All Time Is Becoming A TV Series
Image
Space opera video game series "Mass Effect" is officially making the jump to television. Variety reports that Amazon MGM Studios has ordered a "Mass Effect" series from writer Daniel Casey ("F9"). Executive producers include Karim Zreik of Cedar Tree Productions, Michael Gamble of "Mass Effect" owner EA (Electronic Arts), and Ari Arad (son of famous "Spider-Man" producer Avi Arad).

A "Mass Effect" TV series was first revealed to be in the works at Amazon back in 2021. Previously, there were also plans to turn the "Mass Effect" video games into a movie, but that never rose out of development hell.

It's easy to trace this news back to Amazon's recent success with adapting the "Fallout" games into a TV series. Amazon MGM Studios also recently announced a "God of War" TV series (showrun by "Star Trek" and "Battlestar Galactica" legend Ronald D. Moore) and "Mass Effect" fits right in with these other plans.

Marvel confirms hit show won't be coming back for season 2 in 2025
Image
After a relatively conservative round of announcements at San Diego Comic-Con, D23, and New York Comic Con regarding upcoming Marvel Studios releases, no one anticipated that the biggest wave of announcements would come in the form of a Disney+ promo dropped just before midnight on the streaming platform.

In the 60-second spot, Marvel confirmed the release dates and windows for over half a dozen live-action and animated Marvel Studios titles set to come within the final two months of 2024 and across 2025.

The list for 2025 included highly anticipated live-action shows such as Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, and Wonder Man, as well as a handful of animated originals that have been long in the works.

There were a lot of amazing shows confirmed to be coming to Disney+ in 2025, but there was one notable hit series missing from the promo — an omission that seems to hint that the show won’t be...

Every Death In Agatha All Along, Ranked
Image
Warning! This article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along season 1.

Agatha All Along has finally reached a brilliant conclusion, though getting there was a long journey fraught with death for many of the characters involved, not all of which are equally significant. Being a spooky series centered around witches and magic, it's not surprising that Agatha All Along has been steeped in death. With the Agatha All Along finale now released, the final kill count of the series has left some chilling memories, though not all of them are crafted with the same level of finesse.

Across its 9 episodes, Agatha All Along has featured a handful of notable death scenes. Some of them manage to be tear-jerking moments in which the members of Agatha All Along's cast that audiences slowly grew to love were cruelly taken away in heart-breaking sequences. Others are more bombastic, being fun to watch because...

Joe Locke opens up about keeping MCU secrets and what his Agatha All Along character’s identity means for the future
Image
Heartstopper‘s Joe Locke is having a week. He’s been keeping one of Marvel’s worst-kept secrets for two years, and after the latest episode of Agatha All Along, he can finally breathe a sign of relief. I say worst-kept because anyone familiar with Marvel Comics has known his character’s identity for years. Sure, Marvel could always pull a fast one, but all signs have pointed to Locke’s “Teen” being Billy Kaplan, also known as Billy Maximoff, also known as Wiccan, the Scarlet Witch’s son. Whether you’re shocked by Teen’s true identity or not, Billy’s arrival in the MCU stirs the cauldron into something fierce, especially since we don’t know if he’s a good or bad witch. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Locke opens up about waiting for the reveal and what his place in the MCU could mean for the Scarlet Witch’s return.

Agatha All Along Midseason Trailer And Poster Reveal Billy's Origin Story And Hypes Up Remaining Episodes
Image
Comic book fans have known from the start that Joe Locke's Teen was likely Billy Maximoff/Wiccan, and his true identity was finally revealed in last week's fifth episode of Agatha All Along, "Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power."

Revealing that he secretly has powers, Billy seemingly killed Agatha Harkness, Lilia Calderu, and Jennifer Hale after Alice Wu-Gulliver's death at the hands of the title character.

However, in this newly released midseason trailer, we see that Agatha manages to survive after rising from the ground to ask, "What does Billy Maximoff want at the end of the Road?"

If we had to hazard a guess, it's probably his mother, Wanda! The Scarlet Witch seemingly died at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Billy is bound to have some questions for her...including the location of his father, Vision, and brother, Tommy, we'd bet.

Joe Locke Became Wiccan in ‘Agatha All Along’ by Using Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch Movement Coach: ‘The Way They Use Their Magic’ Is Similar
Image
Joe Locke is finally able to breathe after the fifth episode of “Agatha All Along” dropped on Disney+. That’s because the installment, titled “Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power,” ends with the long-awaited reveal that Locke’s character Teen is actually Billy, the son of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch whose also the teenage superhero Wiccan. Fans expected the twist, but it still delivered shock and awe as a Scarlet Witch-like crown formed on Billy’s head.

“It’s so nice. I feel like I’m breathing. I love it,” Locke told Entertainment Weekly about the big secret finally being out there in the world, adding that he took four doses of melatonin the night before the episode started streaming so he’d be able to calm his nerves and sleep.

“I’m in the U.K. The episode drops at 2:00 a.m.” Locke said. “I knew...

Agatha All Along Star Joe Locke Confirms He's Playing [Spoiler]; Teases What's Next On The Witches' Road
Image
In last Wednesday's episode of Agatha All Along - read our recap here - we learned that Joe Locke's Teen is Billy, the son of Vision and the Scarlet Witch.

When we last saw him as a little boy, he faded into nothingness when the Hex came down. However, there are plenty of ideas from Marvel Comics that Marvel Studios can use to explain Wiccan's shocking resurrection.

The closing moments of "Darkest Hour / Wake They Power" saw Wiccan use the powers he'd kept a secret to fling Agatha Harkness, Lilia Calderu, and Jennifer Hale into quicksand-like mud. Meanwhile, a Scarlet Witch-inspired crown appeared on his forehead to the tune of Billie Eilish's "You Should See Me in a Crown."

"The show starts getting real," Locke tells Entertainment Weekly. "The show starts with Billy being very much the familiar, the secondary to all the witches. Now we know he is also a witch,...

Ryan Reynolds, Harry Styles & Sydney Sweeney Lead Cast in Live-Action Scooby-Doo Fan Trailer
Image
Scooby-Doo is as popular as ever well, we wont talk about Velma and while there are several animated and live-action projects currently in development for both Max and Netflix, the bizarre world of AI-generated movie trailers has beaten them to the punch to deliver a star-studded what if concept trailer for a new live-action movie.

The trailer, which is narrated by an AI version of Shaggy, brings together some intriguing - and some odd casting choices to develop a new Mystery Inc. team. Starting from the top, we have the voice of Scooby-Doo being listed as Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, and the role of Shaggy going to pop-star-turned-actor Harry Styles. The rest of the gang comprises of Zac Efron as a very youthful looking Fred, Sydney Sweeney (hilariously credited as Sweeney Sydney in the trailer) as Daphne, and Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in an unlikely casting as Velma.

Velma Returning to Max for New Halloween Special
Mindy Kaling
Velma is heading back to Max with a surprise Halloween special this October. The Mindy Kaling-created Scooby-Doo reimagining has failed to connect with audiences and critics across its two seasons so far, but it seems that you cant keep a heavily criticized show down, so on October 3, Max will play host to Velma: This Halloween Needs To Be More Special!

While it seemed that Velma had come to the end of the road when the character was killed off at the end of Season 2, that is not the case at all, and now it appears that Velmas spirit and the gang have a chance to bring her back to life which would suggest that someone is genuinely planning on Season 3 becoming reality. The synopsis for the special reads:

With just 24 hours to bring Velma back, the friends search for a dark spellbook while trying to avoid the wrath of a vengeful spirit.
