Here is Something We Won't Be Seeing on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" Anytime Soon
A few months ago we mentioned gay Austrian TV host Alfons Haider's desire to dance with a male partner on that country's version of Dancing with the Stars, and he finally got his wish.

Via Towleroad comes this clip, which showcases Alfons dancing a cha-cha-cha version of "Respect" with his young pro dance partner Vadim Garbuzov.

While technically it's ... not very good (they look like Siegfried and Roy: The Musical), it is a historic moment on TV.

Congrats to the pair, and here's hoping they can get far in the competition.

Charlies Angels has found Bosley. The modern Bosley was to be ab-endowed, a computer genius, and a rock for the Angels to lean on. The producers think theyve found that in Ramon Rodriguez, best known for a part in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I had been hoping for a gay Bosley, and I still hold out hope for that.

Charlaine Harris thinks she only has two more Sookie Stackhouse books left in her, bringing the total to twelve. She says she just wants to write something else. Still, thats a ton of material for Alan Ball to mine for infinite seasons on HBO.

If you remember all the Astroturf organizations that ruled the debate on healthcare, elections, socialism and the last two years, get ready for the new frontier: libraries. Many of those same groups are putting up new shell companies to agitate to remove objectionable books from local libraries.

Zap2it.com is asking readers to weigh in about our interview with Disney Channel President Gary Marsh about the exclusion of gay characters on Disney shows. So far, the comments are mostly pro-gay, except for a few "If they include them I'll switch to Nickelodeon," and some person who insists that Miley Cyrus and all of The Jonas Brothers are gay ... oh, and The Jonas Brothers aren't really brothers, and are gay for each other. Austrian television celebrity Alfons Haider (who many believe was the inspiration for Sascha Baron Cohen's Bruno character) will be dancing with a straight male partner on the next season on Austria's Dancing Stars. In ratings news, CBS has renewed Big Bang Theory for three more seasons. Meanwhile, ratings for last night's Southland aren't out yet, but last week's season premiere ratings were on par with last season.

Bruno Inspiration Chooses Male Dance Partner
Alfons Haider, the gay Austrian TV celebrity believed to have inspired Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno character, has selected a man to be his partner on the country's next TV dance contest. According to Reuters, Haider told the Oesterreich newspaper, "I am going to dance with a heterosexual. This is not about being gay. I do not want my appearance on the show to be reduced to homosexuality. This is about the show, about entertainment. I am not the gay Joan of Arc."Haider chose dance professional Balazs Ekker to be his partner on the Dancing Stars show, which he has hosted in the past. Reuters reported that it was unclear which man would lead. "There is no 100 percent answer to this because no one has done this before," Ekker told Oesterreich. "But there is no way I am going to don a skirt and stockings to give the impression we're normal.

Bruno
The movie Bruno was released in 2009. This movie has been directed by Larry Charles. This movie is a comedy that will, I think, make anyone laugh. Those who have a broad mind will enjoy the movie. There are two lead roles in this movie. Alfons Haider is playing one of the main roles. He is an entertainer, actor, cabaret star, reality show host, and singer. His age is almost 50. And the other one is Adi Weiss; a Vienna-based fashion journalist who is new to television. He plays a big role here. He is just 33. In this movie, Bruno will definitely shock a lot of people with graphic jokes and these jokes won’t be liked by everyone.

Sacha Baron Cohen has to be appreciatied for his quick thinking. He has clearly played the characters in this film...

'Real Bruno' speaks out on Cohen
The man believed to have inspired Sacha Baron Cohen's alter ego Bruno has spoken out about the comedian's alleged take on him. Alfons Haider, 51, said that the Borat star may have seen his Austrian television series while he studied in the country, People reports. He said: "Nine years ago, Sacha Baron Cohen studied in Austria for a year. Since I've done over 800 television shows in the past 15 years, I can't rule out the possibility that he may have seen me on one of my shows." The cabaret star, reality show host and singer added that he does not see a strong (more)...

Is There a 'Real' Brüno?
It looks like Brüno, Sacha Baron Cohen's over-the-top gay character, isn't as outrageous a fabrication as you may think. There's a debate raging in Austria right now over who the "real Brüno" could be, and there is not one but two contenders. Alfons Haider is the front runner. A deliciously theatrical 51-year-old entertainer - actor, cabaret star, reality show host, singer - thinks the discussion is a hoot. "Aren't we a funny country? It's like there's no recession or other problems in the world. Here the press is worried about who the real Brüno is." In between rehearsals for...

Austria Prepares to Combat Bruno
The Austrian press has begun to batten down the hatches in preparation for the arrival of Brüno, pondering the extent of possible damage to its national brand -- and dignity.

In Brüno, Sacha Baron Cohen plays a flamboyant gay Austrian fashionista possibly modeled on a real Austrian television presenter, Alfons Haider. Haider, who is known for his own diva-like style on screen, has no problems with the comparison -- for the most part. He is a little worried, though, about some of the right-wing stuff that Bruno comes out with.

That's a worry underlined by Brüno's recent statements off-screen elevating a notorious Austrian sex criminal to the status of national icon and flippantly bringing up a Hitler connection that the country would rather forget. "Will Nazi replace our Dirndl image?" reads one recent headline on the controversy. In light of what happened to Kazakhstan's reputation after Brüno's predecessor...
