As previewed at Toy Fair, Neca is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Rob Zombie‘s The Devil’s Rejects with Tiny and Baby Firefly action figures.
Tiny, played by the late Matthew McGrory, includes a hood that fits over his head. Baby, played by Sheri Moon Zombie, comes with a pistol and shotgun.
Each 7″ scale articulated toy is packaged in a window box. Pre-orders are live for a March 2026 release.
Longtime collectors may recall that Neca made figures of these characters back in 2005, but they’ve been reworked for the new releases.
In the sequel to House of 1000 Corpses, the homicidal Firefly family goes on the run, but the clan’s rampage is cut short when a sheriff follows.
Moon Zombie and McGrory star alongside Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Ken Foree, Leslie Easterbrook, and William Forsythe.

The mid-2000s were a wild time in horror. From originals like Wolf Creek, High Tension, and the dawn of Saw, to a litany of dark Platinum Dunes remakes. Audiences made it very clear that we wanted it nasty. Then we wanted it even nastier at home on an “unrated” DVD in the months that followed. It’s very apropos then that this is the era when Rob Zombie: Director was born. Following up 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses, the rock star turned director was ready to shock audiences with depravity once more. Only this time, he didn’t want you to laugh uncomfortably at his sick circus. He wanted to suck all the cartoon air out of the room and make you feel the horror as if you were there. To do so would require him to push his actors to the limits of their minds darkest places,...

Rob Zombie has been one of the most polarizing figures in the horror community since making the leap from musician to filmmaker. He made his feature writing and directorial debut with House of 1000 Corpses in 2003 — after being purchased by Lionsgate when its original studio, Universal, shelved it three years prior due to fears of it receiving a dreaded Nc-17 rating.
Corpses fell victim to many issues faced by first-time directors — Zombie was seemingly unsure if he’d ever get the opportunity to make another movie, resulting in an anarchic mélange of ideas and influences — but the end result remains potent all these years later. Despite the troubled production and a largely unfavorable critical response, the film turned a healthy profit, giving Zombie the sinister urge to make a sequel as his sophomore effort.
Released 20 years ago today, The Devil’s Rejects is decidedly more grounded in reality than its heightened predecessor.

Rob Zombie‘s The Devil’s Rejects turns 20 today, and Bottleneck Gallery is commemorating the anniversary with a poster by Matt Ryan Tobin.
The 36×24 screen print goes on sale today at 12pm Et. Hand-numbered out of 125, it will cost $65.
Bottleneck writes, “The Devil’s Rejects is an absolutely bonkers horror ride that rocked us to our very cores. Matt tackles Rob’s spectacularly violent sequel with a striking flag motif and some devilishly great renditions of our favorite family of lunatics. The Devil’s Rejects was a darker, more ambitious film than its predecessor, and Matt stepped up to the challenge with a truly killer poster design.”

Quentin Tarantino has directed many feature films which have been widely acclaimed, and fans will often have their own particular favorites. Superman helmer James Gunn is a Tarantino fan, and he has shared his own pick for his favorite film.
Per Konbini, Gunn addressed Tarantino films in a new video interview. He brought up 1997's Jackie Brown, written and directed by Tarantino, sharing that it's his personal favorite. While Gunn noted that he also really enjoys Pulp Fiction, he gives Jackie Brown the edge, as he feels that it's a "perfect" film. He also revealed how he loves the movie so much that he still watches it regularly.
"Jackie Brown is the best Quentin Tarantino film," Gunn said. "At least, it's my favorite film. I don't know if there are 'bests' of anything, but it's my favorite Quentin Tarantino film. I watch it at least once a year, and really...

The wildly diverse worlds of Star Trek and Quentin Tarantino’s arguably best film, Pulp Fiction, overlapped during the run of Star Trek: Picard. That’s when Amanda Plummer, who played Honey Bunny in Pulp Fiction, portrayed Picard’s season 3’s main antagonist, Vadic. Plummer, the daughter of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country co-star Christopher Plummer, appeared in six episodes as the changeling captain of the Shrike.
But a look at a casting memo written by Tarantino in advance of production on Pulp Fiction reveals that several future and past Star Trek figures were at least considered for roles in the writer-director’s film. Tim Roth ultimately starred as Pumpkin, but among those on Tarantino’s list of potential actors for the role was Christian Slater. A massive Star Trek fan and the son of Star Trek VI casting director Mary Jo Slater, Christian cameoed in VI as a...

A pick of our favourite reader responses to a question raised by Jaws’ 50th anniversary: which films did you watch at too young an age…?
Last week, in the wake of Jaws’ 50th anniversary, we asked: what films did you see at too young an age? For this writer it was – surprise, surprise – the TV premiere of the aforementioned 1975 shark thriller, which made such an impression on my four year-old mind that I refused to paddle in the sea for months afterwards.
“It was Jaws for me too,” says Film Stories reader Big Dunc. “I was seven when it was on TV for the first time, and I made it as far as the head popping out of the boat. I then took myself to bed but couldn’t sleep because I was too freaked out. I’m pretty sure I slept with the light on for a few weeks after that.

Rob Zombie is a divisive figure in the horror space. People either love him or hate him without much middle ground. If you fall into the former category, you may be pleased to learn that one of the director’s lesser known films is now streaming on Tubi. Indeed, Zombie’s animated outing, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, is now available to stream via the ad-supported VOD platform.
The news that an under-seen Rob Zombie film is now available to stream is exciting to fans all on its own, but you may be even more enticed with the added context that El Superbeasto features several beloved characters who fans will surely recognize. Both Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) and Otis Driftwood (Bill Moseley) of Firefly Family fame make a cameo appearance in this 2009 offering. Though they aren’t primary characters, it’s pretty compelling to see them make the leap to animation.

Writer/director Jack Hill’s 1967 film Spider Baby or, the Maddest Story Ever Told (watch it Here) – which boasts a cast that includes Lon Chaney Jr. and Sid Haig – ranks up there as one of my all-time favorites, so I’m happy to see that it has finally, nearly sixty years after the film was originally released, been given the novelization treatment! Written by Dayna Noffke, the novelization has been published by Encyclopocalypse Publications and is available for purchase, in paperback and Kindle editions, at This Link.
Here’s the description of the novel, which has a page count of 210: In a crumbling mansion on the edge of nowhere, the Merrye children live a secret life, watched over by their devoted caretaker Bruno and cursed by a rare genetic condition that causes them to regress into violent, childlike states while retaining the strength and appetites of adults. Encyclopocalypse has published a novelization of Spider Baby in paperback, mass market paperback, and e-book.
Based on the cult classic from writer-director Jack Hill, the book is written by Dayna Noffke. It includes a foreword by cult film scholar Mike Watt, as well as reconstructed “deleted scenes” and annotations that expand the twisted lore of one of the cult classic.
“In a crumbling mansion on the edge of nowhere, the Merrye children live a secret life, watched over by their devoted caretaker Bruno and cursed by a rare genetic condition that causes them to regress into violent, childlike states while retaining the strength and appetites of adults.
“Virginia catches flies in her imaginary web—then slashes them to pieces with butcher knives. Elizabeth sulks and plots. And Ralph… well, Ralph scuttles in the shadows, twitching, grinning, watching. When distant relatives arrive to claim the family estate, Bruno can only hope the “children” remember their manners.

By the mid-1960s, things were getting weird. At the movies, the French New Wave was reaching America’s shores and inspiring the first move toward experimental filmmaking in Hollywood. On the fringes of this, rogue independent filmmakers were finding ways to be experimental and artistic while also managing to make plenty of money through exploitation films, a charge led by William Castle and Roger Corman. Jack Hill came up through the earliest days of what would eventually be called the “Corman School” and made his debut feature for next to nothing under the title Cannibal Orgy or The Maddest Story Ever Told.
When the film eventually saw the light of day, it retained its subtitle but garnered the new, and perhaps more esoteric, moniker Spider Baby.
The film was made during an unusual time in the history of horror. The classic monster movies had long-since fallen out of vogue...

Long before the MCU was raking in billions and telling large, interconnected stories with beloved characters like Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Captain America, there was Howard the Duck. Marvel's first theatrical feature film, which tried to capitalize on the success of the wisecracking, womanizing anthropomorphic duck, was a legendary disaster that had the comic book giant reeling for over a decade from its failure. For as plagued with controversy, contractual disputes, and odd creative choices as it is, though, its tale is fascinating. A new documentary titled Howard the Doc (Or: How I Learned to Start Quacking and Love the Bomb) now looks to tell that story for the first time in film form. Collider can exclusively share that Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired the project and will release it in theaters this fall, followed by a physical and streaming release.

In an entertainment climate where western content seems to red-hot, who can forget the Kurt Russell gem Bone Tomahawk? It's hard to believe this year marks the 10th anniversary of the western horror film's release. And it featured quite the ensemble alongside Russell, including Patrick Wilson (Insidious), the late Sid Haig (a Rob Zombie regular) and David Arquette. MovieWeb recently caught up with Arquette amid the release of his police drama film Mob Cops, and the beloved Scream actor also took time to reflect on his experience shooting Bone Tomahawk alongside the other big names. Arquette told us:
"Working with Sid Haig was just such a honor because he's such an incredible, legendary actor. And that may have been his last film, so just feel really blessed to have met him and worked with him. And then Kurt Russell, I mean, we did 3,000 Miles to Graceland together, and then to...

Horror movies about clowns are their own specific breed of awesome. Some of the best horror movies out there center around the diabolical sweetness -- or lack thereof -- of clowns, so there's no underestimating how truly terrifying they can be within the right circumstances. Sure, there are some truly bad ones out there, but those truly pale in comparison to how much the good ones absolutely rock. One could even argue that the presence of a scary clown automatically elevates any horror movie, but that one might be just a matter of taste at the end of the day.
That said, there's no denying horror is truly a safe haven for the weird and wonderful, and evil clowns definitely fall within those categories. In fact, culture's most memorable clowns call horror their home. Horror allows for audiences to safely explore the antithesis of the joy clowns can conventionally give us,...

Last year, Charles Band’s company Full Moon announced that they were launching a new production label called Pulp Noir, which would focus on “edgier, weirder, darker horror and dark fantasy films.” Two Pulp Noir movies, Quadrant and Death Streamer, have since made their way through production – and while those movies were initially released in color, all of the Pulp Noir movies will also get black & white “noir” releases, so there are both color and black & white versions of Quadrant and Death Streamer available on the Full Moon Features streaming service. While we wait for more Pulp Noir movies to be made, Band has started going through the Full Moon library to give some of their older films the black & white / noir treatment. Last month, a “noir” version of the 1984 sci-fi thriller Christmas classic Trancers was released through Full Moon Features and YouTube, as was a black & white version of the 1997 creature feature The Creeps.

“Graham’s poster for Rob Zombie’s dark and bloody directorial debut takes us on a tour of the Firefly house and introduces us to each of the lovely members of the family,” Bottleneck Gallery writes. “Graham’s vintage-wash palette lends itself perfectly to this bloody good time of a flick, and we love how he was able to capture the visual language of the film with his bold and bloody portraits of the family.”

Since the Golden Age of Hollywood, gangsters have dominated the crime genre, with films like The Untouchables and Scarface exploring the lives of notorious mob bosses and drug kingpins. For some, these films represent the pinnacle of genres like thriller, crime, and drama, typically thanks to the great alignment of cast, writer, and director. Despite their violent nature, these films appeal to people of all stripes, often reinventing cinema altogether through their success.
Gangster movies vary in scale, with modern classics like Sexy Beast and A History of Violence making great use of relatively small casts. Other movies have reeled in audiences through their assembly of some of the biggest and most talented stars of their era, often turning in career-best performances. Through these movies, fans have been shown the inner workings of some of America's most dangerous criminal organizations -- even if they play fast and loose with the facts.

Netflix's new Western series American Primeval has quickly become one of the platform's biggest hits of the moment, holding the number one spot on the streamer for several days before being dethroned by another bloodbath, WWE Monday Night Raw. Written by The Revenant screenwriter Mark L. Smith and directed by Deepwater Horizon's Peter Berg, the series unflinchingly plunges viewers into the brutally violent world of the American West circa 1857, a time frequently mythologized and often toned down by Hollywood.
While many westerns offer a more sanitized view of 19th Century frontier life, others have been willing to go there before American Primeval hit the scene. One of the best examples from recent years can even be found on the same platform, just a click away after the final episode: 2015's Bone Tomahawk. Written and directed by S. Confession: puppets really creep me out. I loved The Muppets as a kid, but they also scared me. I put off watching Labyrinth for decades because of how terrifying the puppet creatures looked. So when I decided to watch and review a horror movie with the unique concept of having an all-puppet cast, I didn't know if it would be any good, but I knew I'd be highly uncomfortable. As a horror fan, that's a feeling I both love and hate. Abruptio is written and directed by Evan Marlowe with voice work from the likes of James Marsters, Jordan Peele, Robert Englund, and the late Sid Haig, in what was his last role. It's part thriller, part over-the-top sci-fi horror, part character study, and all the way strange. Not all of Abruptio worked, but I won't soon forget it.

It is limiting horror movies to only carrying a social or thematic message. Sometimes these films can simply exist as visceral showcases. Horror movies can showcase human craftsmanship in practical effects, gore, special effects, etc., eliciting immediate reactions from the audience that have also become one of the genre’s trademarks.
To that end, “Abruptio” by Evan Marlowe is a marvelous work of craftsmanship. The entire film is done via puppetry, with a mix of live puppetry and life-size puppet work. There might also have been actors wearing puppet masks to maintain continuity in a film doubling down on its discontinuous sensibilities.
A middle-aged man, living with his parents, stuck in a dead-end job, and having broken up with his girlfriend of two years, gets a text message revealing that a bomb is stuck in his neck. If he doesn’t want to be blown up, he would have to...

Scream Factory is bringing Ghosts of Mars, Humanoids from the Deep, Galaxy of Terror, and Sick to 4K
Blu-ray.com reports that Scream Factory has announced that they’ll be bringing four horror movies to 4K in February – and each one of these is a cool title that a lot of genre fans will be picking up. Scream Factory’s February 4K line-up consists of Ghosts of Mars (2001), Humanoids from the Deep (1980), Galaxy of Terror (1981), and Sick (2022)!
Directed by John Carpenter from a screenplay he wrote with Larry Sulkis, Ghosts of Mars is one of the least popular films in Carpenter’s filmography… but still, it’s Carpenter, so that means a 4K release is going to be a must-buy for a good number of fans. Here’s the synopsis: Long inhabited by human settlers, the Red Planet has become the manifest destiny of an over-populated Earth. The recently resurrected Anchor Bay Entertainment will release a trio of new indie horror films on Blu-ray and DVD on December 10: Crust, Cursed in Baja, and Abruptio.
Character actor Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs) makes his feature directorial debut on Crust, an offbeat horror-comedy about a sock monster that he co-wrote with Jim Wald.
Whalen stars with Daniel Roebuck (Terrifier 3), Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), and Ricky Dean Logan (Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare).
In Crust, “Vegas Winters is a former child star who owns a laundromat. One of the benefits of running the place is finding all the leftover socks from his customers, which Vegas uses in creative ways. After Vegas becomes the victim of bullying, he seeks refuge from the attack in the pile of socks. His pain somehow creates a monster willing to seek vengeance for Vegas.”

Two years have passed since the release of musician / filmmaker Rob Zombie’s latest film, his update of the classic sitcom The Munsters, and we still don’t know what he’s going to make next (although we do have a wish list of movies we’d like to see him make). While we anxiously wait to hear what Zombie’s going to do next, we have decided to take a look back at all of the movies he has made, from House of 1000 Corpses to The Munsters, to put together a list of some of the Best Scenes from Rob Zombie movies to date.
House Of 1000 Corpses (2003): Home Visit

Halloween: Resurrection in 2002 seemed to close the door on the original film’s run. It had run out of gas and failed both critically, with a 10% score on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as commercially, with it only bringing in 37 million on its 15-million-dollar budget. The next year would see Freddy and Jason clash with each other and Leatherface get the remake treatment from studio Platinum Dunes. While Freddy and Jason would get their own remakes in 2009 and 2010 respectively, you know you can’t keep a good masked villain down for long. So, before his two main slasher rivals got their day in the sun, Michael Myers would receive his own remake that came out in 2007. With a drastically different take and a new producer behind the wheel, Halloween would get a chance to do something drastically different than anything we had seen before. It's been nearly a decade and a half since the TV phenomenon known as Lost came to its conclusion, and even though not all the show's cast members have managed to maintain that same level of brightness in the spotlight that the show had once allowed them, some have gotten extremely lucky. When fans think of the show's most successful cast members, names like Evangeline Lily and Daniel Dae Kim are sure to come to mind. However, even though Matthew Fox has taken an extended hiatus from acting, it's impossible to deny that he, too, has certainly had one of the most successful post-series finale careers. While his acquired film credits are small, they've been pretty impressive, from We Are Marshall to Speed Racer. It's Bone Tomahawk (the last major film he appeared in), however, that has become arguably his most popular one.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Marsters discussed the many reasons why his new, innovative horror film offers a fresh take on the genre. If you’ve heard anything at all about the film Abruptio, it’s most likely been positive, and you’ve probably wondered why you can’t find it in a theater or streaming. All of that is changing, which is a very good thing if you’re a fan of unique horror movies.
Released in 2023, Abruptio played at 37 international festivals, winning 21 awards along the way. I was lucky enough to receive a screener at that time, and I absolutely loved it. But, don’t take just my word for it. My colleague Brian Fanelli recently had the opportunity to watch Abruptio and he also gave it an extremely positive review.
Abruptio opened in select theaters on September 27, and will continue its run through at least mid-October. Hopefully, it will expand into even more theaters, because it’s a film that deserves to be seen on the big screen.

Horror is a genre that, by its very button-pushing nature, tends to target younger audiences. Its propensity for breaking taboos and pushing boundaries makes it a natural vector for youthful rebellion, and the same is said of rock and roll. All this would seem to place Rob Zombie firmly in an adolescent area of pop culture which makes his focus on older characters a pleasant surprise. In a recent interview, the filmmaker said he wants his next movie to star Danny Trejo, an 80-year-old actor who wouldn't even be the oldest actor in the Zombie clique.
