Harold Beach obituary
Engineer behind the charismatic Aston Martin that featured in early James Bond films

Harold Beach, who has died aged 96, was the engineer with overall responsibility for the design of Aston Martin's most important and charismatic postwar cars. The DB4, DB5 and DB6 helped the firm prosper throughout the 1960s and epitomised everything an Aston Martin should be.

Nine Setanta slots on BSkyB up for grabs
London -- The administrator for failed pay TV operator Setanta has put nine slots on BSkyB's satellite service up for grabs, which could raise as much as £1 million ($1.6 million).

Deloitte, the firm handling the dismantling of Setanta's business, has hired TV management company Canis Media to handle the sale of the nine slots.

The nine were used to broadcast Setanta News, Setanta Golf, Racing UK, Racing World, and the Arsenal, Celtic and Rangers TV channels.

Canis Media said Wednesday that there were also an unspecified number of unallocated digital Electronic Program Guide channels slots available.

"Sports broadcasters should obviously be looking very closely at the Epg to see how a channel move could help them," Canis Media chief Ed Hall said.

The clock is ticking for any moves by other broadcasters as BSkyB rules insist a channel can only be off air for 30 days before it is deleted from the Epg.
