Zoe Hale
Zoe' Hale has a long history of working as an artist in many fields. At 16 years old she wrote and illustrated a weekly Fashion column for her city newspaper. In 1974 she earned her BFA from Stephens College, Columbia Missouri in Fashion Design and won an award for best in Illustration and studied art in Europe. She then moved to Nashville, Tennessee and worked at Vanderbilt University as Designer-in-Residence. There she taught in the Theatre Department as head of the Costume Department and designed all of the theatre productions, including The Lincoln Center Project. At the same time she worked at the University Library as a Graphic Artist and designed a Sign System and Logo for the Joint University Library serving 5 universities in the area.

Zoe' moved to Los Angeles in 1980. She took drafting courses at UCLA and started as an Interior Designer, designing corporate interiors for Coast Federal Bank, S. Wooley Architects and Xerox Corp. Then, at International Masters Publishers, she worked in the Editorial Dept. as the Photography Studio Stylist for garden and recipe books and also wrote recipes for them.

She moved into the Movie Industry where she started as a Scenic Artist at Concorde/New Horizons Studio. Zoe' was invited into the Costume Department and designed costumes there. That started her 20 year career as a Set Costumer and Costume Designer. In Hollywood she worked at many studios such as Paramount, Universal, Sony, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros., Disney Prod., ABC. While working at ABC on "General Hospital" her team in the Wardrobe Dept won the Emmy Award. Zoe' was invited to join the Academy of Arts and Sciences as a Costume Designer and still votes for the Emmy Awards to date.

In 1990, Zoe' started painting in oils and was represented at the Pacific Design Center in L.A. at the LA Art Connection. She also was represented by Courtyard Collection and L.A. Art Seen and had shows at the Hilton Hotel and Le Meridian. In 2000, Zoe' moved to Tucson, AZ. and taught art at Tucson Unified School District to the emotionally disabled children and at Pima Community College. Her artwork was represented by Gallery 299, Rosequist Gallery, Max Gallery. Zoe' showed and sold her art at benefits supporting the Tucson Museum of Art, The Tucson Ballet, Mountain Oyster Club Art Show.

In 2014 Zoe' moved to Florida to be near her family. She teaches "The Joy of Oils" at the North Port Art Center and also "Oil Impressionism" at the Visual Art Center of Punta Gorda. Zoe' Hale's oil paintings are known for the appearance of movement and luminous, opalescent light qualities. She is represented by Cobalt Fine Art Gallery in Tubac, Arizona.
