The project from Akiva Goldsman, Jordan Cahan and Greg Lessans is loosely based on the 1992 movie starring John Ritter and Pam Dawber. The series would follow Rannells and Gad as they find themselves trapped on the wrong side of the screen and forced to navigate their way through TV’s most binge-worthy obsessions.

Cahan serves as showrunner on the potential series, reuniting with Rannells after previously working together on Showtime’s “Black Monday.” 20th Television is the producing studio. Loosely based on the 1992 cult classic film of the same name starring John Ritter and Pam Dawber, Stay Tuned was created by Akiva Goldsman, Jordan Cahan, and Greg Lessans, with Cahan set as showrunner. In the TV series take, Rannells and Gad will find themselves trapped on the wrong side of the screen and forced to navigate their way through TV’s most binge-worthy obsessions.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ One Battle After Another trailer shows Leonardo DiCaprio‘s character trying to keep away from Sean Penn’s character while seeking help from Benicio del Toro’s. The new trailer arrived with posters featuring the star-studded cast.

In addition to DiCaprio, Penn, and del Toro, the dark comedy stars Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Chase Infiniti, Wood Harris, and Alana Haim. Oscar nominee Paul Thomas Anderson wrote the screenplay, directs, and produces. Adam Somner and Sara Murphy also serve as producers, with Will Weiske executive producing.

Warner Bros. hasn’t released the official synopsis, but the studio has set a September 26, 2025 release in theaters and IMAX.

One Battle After Another‘s behind-the-camera team includes directors of photography Michael Bauman and Anderson, production designer Florencia Martin, editor Andy Jurgensen, costume designer Colleen Atwood, and casting director Cassandra Kulukundis. Jonny Greenwood is the composer.

One Battle After Another adopts a more serious tone in the latest trailer, which teases the plot at breakneck speed. It's a glimpse of the main character's backstories, fleshed out by a star-studded cast; Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Benicio del Toro top the list. Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti are also compelling in brief appearances. Inspired by author Thomas Pynchon's Vineland, director Paul Thomas Anderson takes after the novel's tone and premise, but the film is set in the present day, referencing recent events.

"When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunites to rescue one of their own's daughter," the official logline reads.

It more explicitly spells out the plot, with DiCaprio’s Bob starting out as a more passionate revolutionary and rejoining the fray after his child (Chase Infiniti from Apple’s “Presumed Innocent” series) is abducted by a psychopathic colonel (Penn). It’s even set to a jaunty Beyoncé tune most closely associated with the presidential campaign for Kamala Harris.

Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies unfurled the first teaser for “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants” on Wednesday, giving fans their earliest look at the irrepressible fry cook’s return to the big screen. The 90-second spot sets sail for the high seas—and an underworld lit by ghostly green fire—ahead of the film’s theatrical release on December 19, 2025.

Series stalwarts Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Carolyn Lawrence and Mr. Lawrence reprise their roles, joined by Regina Hall, George Lopez, Sherry Cola, Arturo Castro and rapper Ice Spice, who will also contribute a new song. Alison Brie (Community, Glow) is set to star in FX’s as-yet-untitled witness protection pilot, Deadline reports.

In the potential drama, “a violent confrontation drives a high-end D.C. madam (played by Brie) to turn on her partner and enter witness protection in seaside Maine with her adolescent daughter,” according to the official logline.

Judy Greer, West Duchovny, and Tory Devon Smith have all joined the series in recurring roles. The trio join previously announced cast members including: Jennifer Garner, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan, D’Arcy Carden, Harlow Jane, Timothy Olyphant, David Denman, Josh Hamilton, and Rob Huebel.

Elin Hilderbrand is opening up about her many books that are being adapted for the small and big screen. At Nantucket Film Festival’s “Flipping the Script: Bestsellers to Screen” panel on Sunday, Hilderbrand was joined by Jenna Lamia, the showrunner of “The Perfect Couple” and the team from the upcoming “Five-Star Weekend” series, writer and producer Bekah Brunstetter, UCP executive Jen Gwartz, NBCUniversal’s Lisa Katz and producer Sue Naegle.

“The Five-Star Weekend” is currently in production, starring Jennifer Garner, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan, D’Arcy Carden and Timothy Olyphant. But it’s one of many in the works for Hilderbrand, whose first adaptation was “The Perfect Couple.”
