Martin Hames has had a very productive life, writing several books and exercising great influence over young people through his job as Headmaster of the Altamont School in Birmingham, Al. Quite a different role in real-life from that of the bartender in this movie, "Stay Hungry". He has been very active in "Town and Gown", the Birmingham Civic Theatre, as well as helping to produce the Miss Alabama contest.
