The BBC will air the new series of MasterChef featuring Gregg Wallace and John Torode.
The future of the season had been in doubt after Wallace and Torode were both fired from the show following a report commissioned by MasterChef producer Banijay.
Today, the BBC said that “after careful consideration and consultation with the contestants” it will air MasterChef Season 21 on both BBC One linear and BBC iPlayer.
“This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it,” said a BBC spokesperson, appearing to anticipate backlash. “In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC.”

MasterChef is “much bigger than individuals” and can “absolutely survive and prosper.”
That proclamation was delivered with vigor by BBC Director General Tim Davie earlier this week when grilled by journalists about the misconduct scandal that claimed the jobs of UK MasterChef presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode in a manic few days.
Wallace’s sacking has felt inevitable in recent months and was rubberstamped by Lewis Silkin’s review into his behavior over a near 20-year period, with Banijay UK boss Patrick Holland calling his position “untenable.” Wallace apologized for using “inappropriate language” between 2005 and 2018, but denied more serious allegations.
More surprising was his friend and co-host Torode, who is exiting after the same review substantiated a complaint that he once used racist language, later reported by The Times of London to be the n-word. It’s an allegation Torode says he has no recollection of and “I do not believe that it happened.

Noel Fielding will be returning to work following the abrupt cancelation of his Apple TV+ series The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin. The historical comedy was axed by Apple last week mid-way through filming season two.
It was reported that Fielding, who plays the title character in Dick Turpin, had dropped out of the series even though three-quarters of the work had already been completed. The Sun originally claimed that Fielding "failed to come to work" for undisclosed reasons, but there is no official explanation as of yet. Producer Big Talk Studios ultimately decided to completely shut down production on Dick Turpin season two because the project couldn’t be salvaged without Fielding.

‘Dick Turpin’s Demise
Turpin hurtin’: Noel Fielding’s time as the swashbuckling Dick Turpin is over — and the whole adventure has collapsed around him. In an incredibly rare turn of events, Season 2 of Apple TV+ comedy The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin has been shut down around three-quarters of the way through its shoot. Fielding did not return to set after the Christmas break citing ill health, despite producer Big Talk Studios making adjustments to his shooting schedule and support needs. Now, a cast and crew of hundreds are out of work with nothing to show for their efforts.

The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin was Apple TV+’s high jinks vehicle for the very best of British comedy talent, but there’s nothing whimsical about the series coming to a clattering halt this week.
Production has ceased on Season 2 of the Big Talk Studios series about an 18th-century highway robber, putting a cast and crew of hundreds out of work with nothing to show for their efforts. Filmed footage cannot be fashioned into a scaled-back season and there is no hope of getting the show back on the road, according to three sources familiar with Dick Turpin’s demise.
At the center of this highly unusual situation is Noel Fielding, the comedy’s titular character, who is also known to American viewers as the co-host of The Great British Baking Show. The star, who shot to fame in surrealist noughties comedy The Mighty Boosh, failed to return...

Apple TV+ series “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin,” which stars Noel Fielding as the infamous highway bandit, has shut down in the middle of shooting Season 2, Variety has confirmed.
A source close to the project said Season 2 had “ceased production.”
Variety understands that the show, which was around three months into the shoot, is highly unlikely to get back off the ground. Another source said that Apple and production company Big Talk did “everything they could” to finish the series and were “really excited about it.”
Consisting of six episodes, the first season of the show launched on the streamer last spring, co-starring Hugh Bonneville, Tamsin Greig and Ellie White. It was directed by “The Inbetweeners” and “Douglas is Cancelled” helmer Ben Palmer. Fielding was also an exec producer on the project.

Apple TV+’s comedy series “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin” has stopped production because the main actor, Noel Fielding, left the show before completing a quarter of its second season. Big Talk Studios had to stop production early because the series could not continue without its lead star.
The shutdown happened after the 2024 holiday season because Fielding did not return to the set in early 2025. Apple TV+, Big Talk Studios, and Fielding’s team at Pbj Management have not explained why he left.
The comedy series featured Fielding as Dick Turpin, a surprising 18th-century highway robber who used his charm more than his taking abilities. The show’s first season had popular British comedians like Ellie White, Dolly Wells, Mark Heap, Marc Wootton, Duayne Boachie, and Michael Fielding.
Fielding worked as an actress and a writer behind the scenes. He wrote with Richard Naylor and Jon Brittain. The...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Great British Baking Show, Collection 12, Week 10] The 2024 season of The Great British Baking Show has been a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns, and the biggest surprise of all was left to the end when the judges selected the winner. In the season finale, the three finalists, Dylan, Christiaan, and Georgie, were tasked with three complex baking challenges. First up, they had to create scones, followed by an afternoon tea ensemble. Then, in the hardest Showstopper challenge of the season, the budding bakers had to create an elaborate hanging celebration cake. “This is the bake between winning or losing,” host Alison Hammond told the finalists as they set to work on their Showstoppers. Both Dylan and Georgie appeared to get flustered at various points, with the former having trouble with the consistency of his genoise sponge and the latter getting confused over what she was doing. This led many...
