Bruce has been a member of the Director's Guild since May, 1967. He worked in television as a stage manager and associate director for the three networks and various production companies before starting as an assistant director in film in the summer of 1973. He worked in film until 1980, then freelanced in live and tape at the networks and production companies before going on staff at CBS, retiring in September 2000.
