Cargo Film & Releasing has revealed the trailer for documentary “The Conservation Game,” directed and produced by Michael Webber (“The Elephant in the Living Room”) via his Nightfly Entertainment banner.

The film explores the largely unregulated U.S. trade in exotic animals, especially big cats like lions, tigers, and leopards and their connection to celebrity conservationists. It follows retired police officer and exotic animal expert Tim Harrison and fellow animal rights activists including attorney Carney Anne Nasser — who initiated the wildlife trafficking case against “Tiger King” Joe Exotic — and Carole and Howard Baskin (founders of Big Cat Rescue).

The film tracks Harrison as he stumbles upon a bombshell discovery while undercover at an exotic animal auction and starts an investigation to track down the whereabouts of rare and endangered big cats. Tributes poured in on Saturday for Larry King, the beloved suspender-wearing TV show host who interviewed everyone from world leaders to Hollywood stars to ordinary Americans over the course of a six-decade broadcast career.

King died Saturday at age 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he had been hospitalized last month with Covid-19.

Regis Philbin was never formally on the payroll of “The Late Show With David Letterman,” but he might as well have been.

When Letterman retired in May 2015, Philbin, the TV veteran who died on July 24 at 88, emerged as the most frequent visitor to joke and spar with Letterman in the guest chair over the CBS late-night franchise’s 22-season run. He logged 136 appearances, far more than the No. 2 guest, animal handler Jack Hanna, at 75. Philbin also had numerous appearances during Letterman’s NBC days on “Late Night With David Letterman.”

Philbin made a career out of a being a TV host who made the rounds of every other talk show on the air — always with a wry smile and a great story at the ready. But his Letterman visits were always extra special. The two are clearly cut from the same cloth as men who seem born to speak extemporaneously on television.

Nat Geo Wild's Secrets of the Zoo returns to the Columbus Zoo to delve into the lives of zoologists and the animals they care for.

Two seasons into its run, Nat Geo Wild's Secrets of the Zoo apparently still holds some more secrets...of the zoo.

Secrets of the Zoo takes viewers behind the scenes of the Columbus Zoo in Ohio to get a better sense of what it means to create a healthy environment for the animals under the zookeepers' care. Previous seasons have documented the birth of Zuri the giraffe's baby, a polar bear party, and some kangaroo romances.

Now for Secrets of the Zoo season 3, National Geographic's Wild child has found even more stories from inside one of the country's biggest zoos. You can see a bit of what's in store for a new batch of critters in the exclusive first look at the third season.

Joan Meyerson, an award-winning TV writer-producer and a longtime WGA West board member, will receive the 2019 Morgan Cox Award in recognition of her decades-long service to the guild. She’ll be honored at February 17 at the Writers Guild Awards L.A. ceremony.

Following more than a million votes by the American public and the opinions of an expert panel of celebrity animal lovers and dog experts, “Chi Chi,” a four-year-old Golden Retriever from Phoenix, Arizona has been named this year’s most heroic dog, besting 265 other brave canines and capturing the top title of “American Hero Dog” at the 2018 American Humane Hero Dog Awards.

CBS’ The Bold and The Beautiful and HBO’s Sesame Street had seven wins apiece tonight to lead the way at the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The show, which honor daytime television programming crafts and are put on by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, was held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

The news comes ahead of the 45th annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Sunday, with Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood as hosts of the digital telecast.

This year, ABC’s General Hospital leads all programs with 26 overall nominations including for Outstanding Drama series, where it will vie against CBS’ The Young and the Restless and NBC’s Days of Our Lives with 25 noms apiece, and Bold and the Beautiful which snagged 18 noms.

CBS again leads all networks with 66 nominations, tying all syndicated shows in the running.
