One of the most well-reviewed Marvel shows in recent memory is probably one many fans have not watched. Sporting a 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows a 13-year-old girl named Lunella, a supergenius who accidentally brings a (very lovable) dinosaur into modern-day New York City. Together, they are a crime-fighting duo that has the rare combination of being incredibly cute but also very powerful. After being unceremoniously canceled last year, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur will be ending on its own terms with the back half of Season 2.
It's been a year since the second season first premiered on Disney+, but the streamer has finally announced when fans will be able to watch the last 10 episodes of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (via The Direct). On Feb. 7, the final episodes of the animated series will be released on Disney+. Meanwhile, for those not subscribed to the streamer,...

There’s a great beating heart at the center of Lucy Kirkwood’s The Welkin, making its American debut after an ill-timed January 2020 premiere at London’s National Theatre. Fans of Sandra Oh’s masterful work on Killing Eve and Grey’s Anatomy won’t be surprised to find her bringing the same kind of acerbic warmth and casually razor-sharp intelligence that Eve Polastri and Dr. Cristina Yang shared to Elizabeth Luke, an 18th-century English midwife who finds herself wrapped up in a murder trial. Even churning butter, which Oh approaches with a ferocious purposefulness, Lizzy still has lots of bite.
The accused is Sally Poppy (Haley Wong), a maid who skipped town with a ruffian only to come back home to her husband drenched in the blood of the young rich girl she used to serve. She’s already been found guilty of murder, but she’s “pled the belly.

Update with Meghan McCain statement: Meghan McCain says her family has not authorized a new, planned musical inspired by – and named after – her late father.
But considering that the in-development musical features fictionalized characters based on public figures, John McCain included, it’s unlikely producers need any such authorization. Deadline has reached out to a show spokesperson for comment.
In an exclusive statement to The Messenger, McCain said, “My family has not authorized it nor was aware of it. I was as surprised as everyone else to see the announcement.”
This morning, producers Quixote Productions and Max Fose announced an invitation-only industry reading later this week in New York of what they call a “provocative and zeitgeisty” new musical titled The Ghost of John McCain. The musical features a book by Scott Elmegreen and score by Drew Fornarola.

There was come old-school writer cred on the picket line outside the Fox lot in Century City today. David E. Kelley, he of the 11 Emmys and 30 nominations, is a veteran of multiple WGA strikes going back to 1988. Introducing himself as “David E. Kelley, old writer,” the Love & Death creator — whose many credits also include Big Little Lies, Big Sky, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Undoing, The Practice, Ally McBeal, and Picket Fences — told Deadline why he’s striking this time.
“All the strikes have had merits on the writer’s behalf, but this one more than any other,” said Kelley, holding a picket sign with “Sow Me The Data” handwritten on it. “This is a real unprecedented time, especially when it comes to sharing the data. When one side is not wanting to be forthcoming, that kind of tells you all you need to know.”

Schmigadoon! season 2 takes Melissa, Josh, and viewers from the Golden Age musicals of the 40s and 50s to the darker musicals of the 60s and 70s that are parodied throughout. When Schmigadoon! was renewed for season 2, it was with the twist of a new setting and characters. While the core Schmigadoon! cast remained the same, with the exception of one actor who didn’t return from season 1, the Schmigadoon residents took on different roles to reflect the time period. As Schmigadoon! season 2 introduced viewers to the world of Schmicago, many musicals were parodied through songs, storylines, and characters.
Schmigadoon! season 1 focused on the musicals of the 40s and 50s, drawing its title and initial plot from Brigadoon, the 1947 Lerner and Loewe musical about a couple who stumbles upon a mysterious village that only appears for one day every 100 years. Schmigadoon! season 1’s musical numbers, characters, and plot also drew from musicals like The Music Man,...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the Schmigadoon! Season 2 finale.] Schmigadoon! Season 2 stuck the landing with its May 3 finale. Season 1 helped heal Melissa (Cecily Strong) and Josh’s (Keegan-Michael Key) relationship, but Season 2 taught them how to find happiness amid life’s many obstacles. After spending six deliciously seedy episodes in the darker world of Schmicago, Melissa and Josh left the magical town, choosing their real-life over fantasy. As the season’s final song states, the ending was a happy beginning. In the video above, the stars of Schmigadoon! share their happy memories of filming Season 2’s musical numbers. Strong and Key break down the Sweet Charity-inspired “Talk to Daddy” from Episode 4 and Strong’s star-moment, Cabaret-inspired Episode 5 solo “Maybe It’s My Turn Now.” Ann Harada and Jaime Camil sing the praises of their Promises, Promises, and A Chorus Line-themed scenes. And Jane Krakowski, ...

It's over and done, but aren't you glad it happened?
On Schmigadoon! Season 2 Episode 6, Josh and Melissa get their Finale Ultimo, which turns out to be a "Happy Beginning."
The singular sensation Ariana DeBose is back, opening up the episode with a fabulous tribute to 1981's R&b musical Dreamgirls.
DeBose hasn't been featured as prominently in Schmigadoon! Season 2 as she was in Schmigadoon! Season 1, likely due to her career taking off after her Oscar win -- but this is a beautiful way to showcase her doing what she does best.
DeBose delivers dramatic, dynamic vocals with elegance and glamor. The number sets the tone for the rest of the episode perfectly.
Once again, Cecily Strong proves what a marvelous actor she is. We know there will be a happy end, but her commitment to the proceedings is admirable. Patrick Page's Kratt somehow remains both dapper and dastardly. His evil knows no bounds!

Jaime Camil and Ann Harada are back for Schmigadoon! Season 2 in wildly different roles.
Instead of dreamy Doc Lopez, Camil plays cop Sgt. Rivera, lackey of Octavius Kratt. No longer the mayor's demure wife, Florence Menlove, Harada is the hard-bitten Madame Frau.
Camil and Harada have extensive careers on stage and screen, but they clearly had a blast returning to the fantasy musical Schmigaverse.
We caught up with Camil and Harada to discuss what Schmigadoon! means to them, how they approached their characters, and who among their castmates most impresses them.
The delightful pair play off each other well onscreen and off, with occasional teasing but a great sense of fun and mutual respect.
You're both Broadway veterans. Jaime, you were even in Chicago! What's it like revisiting that world, albeit a skewed version?
Camil: Ann is Broadway royalty. I am not.
Harada: Jaime. You've been on Broadway!
Camil: Oh,...

Snag is part romance, part action, and part comedy. The new film follows an assassin named Snag (Ben Milliken) who thinks that the love of his life, Valentina (Sofía Castro), is dead. When he discovers otherwise, he does whatever he can to get her back.
Jaime Camil plays Snag’s best friend, Marco, who is also a deadly assassin. He owes Snag his life and is willing to help him rescue Valentina from her captors. This has been a busy year for Jaime, who also stars in Schmigadoon season 2, which is currently airing on Apple TV+.

"Schmigadoon," Apple TV+'s musical series that parodies iconic stage productions of the past, is back for season two - but don't expect the Golden Age musical numbers from season one. Season two - which the show renames "Schmicago" - turns its attention to the darker and sexier musicals of the 1960s and 1970s. Those productions - like the reference for the new title, "Chicago" - feature sex, murder, trauma, and war, and often don't end happily. In the series, Melissa (Cecily Strong) warns Josh (Keegan-Michael Key) that she's not as familiar with the shows of this era, so if that's you, too, we've got you covered. These are the biggest musical references for "Schmigadoon" season 2, aka "Schmicago."

Schmigadoon! season 2 is about to begin on Apple TV+, bringing with it a bevy of new songs, a new city, and new characters (played with visible joy by the same cast from season 1). While the first season of Schmigadoon! took on musicals from the 1940s and '50s, Schmigadoon! season 2 sets its sights on musicals from the '60s and '70s, including Chicago, Hair, and Sweeney Todd. Creator, writer, and songwriter Cinco Paul has managed to build on what made the original series great, with musical numbers that stack up to the best of the first season like the Emmy-winning "Corn Puddin'".

“Schmigadoon!” Season 2 is giving ‘em the old razzle dazzle. On Tuesday, Apple TV+ released a new trailer for the upcoming season of the Emmy-winning musical comedy series. Things on the show are taking a turn for the Fosse.

The trailer is heavy on references to the musicals of that era. It draws most prominently on “Chicago,” of course, but also on “Cabaret,” “Oliver!,” and “Hair,” among others. Season 1 paid homage to light and bright musicals of the 1940s, while Season 2 is moving forward to an era where the musicals were darker, with more sex and violence and no happy endings, as Melissa explains in the trailer.

Apple TV+ is subbing out “The Sound of Music” for “Sweeney Todd.” The first trailer for Season 2 of “Schmigadoon!,” the streamer’s musical parody series, has been released.
Created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, Season 1 of “Schmigadoon!” was a riff on the basic concept of “Brigadoon,” a 1947 Tony-winning musical. Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key lead the cast as Melissa and Josh, a long-term couple in a rocky patch of their relationship. The pair stumble upon the remote town of Schmigadoon and soon discover they can’t leave until they understand true love: something the magical realm determined the partners weren’t in. Every episode featured multiple original musical numbers, patterned from “Brigadoon” and other musicals of its era, all written by Paul.

Musical TV shows are a tricky thing, but Apple TV+ made magic happen with the first season of "Schmigadoon!," directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and starring Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key as a couple who find themselves stuck in the world of a Golden Age-styled musical. Inspired by the 1954 MGM movie "Brigadoon," the duo are trapped in this mystical musical town that follows the rules of classic Hollywood musicals — think "Singin' in the Rain" and "Oklahoma!" — and it nearly destroys their relationship. They managed to work things out and escape after six episodes, but it looks like the real world just doesn't hold the same appeal as one where you can sing your daily gripes instead of just mutter them. The trailer for season 2 of the Apple TV+ series is here, and it appears Melissa (Strong) and Josh (Key) are headed back into the woods to look for the fantastical forest town again.

‘Schmigadoon!’ Season 2 Trailer: Welcome to ‘Schmicago’ … and ‘Schmair’ and ‘Schmeeney Todd’ (Video)
Season 2 of “Schmigadoon!” lands Melissa (Cecily Strong) and Josh (Keegan-Michael Key) in an entirely new musical world, far from the sunny, upbeat climes of “Brigadoon.”
In the Season 2 trailer released on Tuesday by Apple TV+, Melissa tells a shocked Josh, “These musicals are darker with more sex and violence,” as they’re drawn into variations on sultry “Chicago,” flower-powered “Hair,” and the the bloody “Sweeney Todd.”
Oscar-winning “West Side Story” star Ariana DeBose shows off her moves as a chorus girl in the “Chicago” setting, while Jane Krakowski is a lawyer who promises to get Key off on charges of murder. Meanwhile, Tony-winning “Cabaret” star Alan Cumming wields a mean cleaver as butcher Sweeney Todd and Aaron Tveit (also a Tony winner) is a groovy hippie in “Hair” as the musicals intermingle into one big medley.

Schmigadoon! star Jaime Camil teases a darker town of Schmigadoon, now Schmicago, when Josh (Keegan-Michael Key) and Melissa (Cecily Strong) return in season 2. The musical comedy debuted on Apple TV+ in 2021, following estranged couple Melissa and Josh as they stumble into the picturesque town of Schmigadoon. However, they soon discover that they can't leave until they rekindle their love. The characters, setting, and music of the first season of Schmigadoon! parody iconic musicals of the 1940s and 1950s, including The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, and The Music Man.
