The Zodiac Killer (1971) and Another Son Of Sam (1977) Blu-ray Now Available From Agfa and Something Weird Video
“Atlantis shall rise again! I am the super zodiac!”

Agfa (American Genre Film Archive), a non-profit that preserves the legacy of genre films, is pleased to announce details for The Zodiac Killer Blu-ray, which will be released on July 25! This is the first title of dozens in our collaboration with Something Weird Video following a successful 2015 Kickstarter campaign.

Directed by Tom Hanson, who had previously owned a chain of Pizza Man restaurants, The Zodiac Killer was made to capture the real-life Zodiac Killer. That plan didn’t work. Instead, we got the most outrageous and compelling “tabloid horror” vortex in the history of planet Earth. And beyond. During theatrical screenings, Hanson constructed in-theater “traps” to lure the killer from hiding. These included the use of an ice cream freezer filled with rent-a-cops and a raffle with a motorcycle as a prize. You won’t get insight like this by watching a David Fincher movie.

The Zodiac Killer (1971)
Fantastic Fest Announces Second Wave of Programming, Including ‘Arrival,’ ‘Toni Erdmann’ and ‘The Handmaiden’
The Zodiac Killer (1971)
Fantastic Fest has announced the second wave of programming for this year’s edition of the Austin-based fête, which runs from September 22 — 29. “The Bad Batch,” a new restoration of 1971’s “The Zodiac Killer,” “Toni Erdmann,” “The Handmaiden” and opening-night selection “Arrival” are among the most prominent selections, with a number of appropriately oddball offerings thrown in as well. Full list below.

“Aalavandhalan” (Suresh Krissna)

Kamal Hassan stars in this ridiculously entertaining tale of an Indian commando pitted against his own serial killer twin brother in a deadly race to save the beautiful Tejaswini from certain death.

“Arrival” (Denis Villeneuve)

When mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe, an elite team — led by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) — are brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers — and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life,...

Johnny Depp at an event for Waiting for the Barbarians (2019)
The U.S. TV show that made Johnny Depp famous is making its way to the big screen, under the watchful eye of comedy star Jonah Hill, according to reports.

Depp found fame playing baby-faced police officer Tom Hanson in 1980s undercover cop series 21 Jump street when he was just 24. The role helped him land parts in movies Cry Baby and Edward Scissorhands, which catapulted him to Hollywood fame.

Superbad star Hill will serve as the new film's executive producer and script writer, and will be joined by the original series' co-creator Stephen J. Cannell, according to Ew.Com.

Depp's camp has yet to confirm if he will consider a cameo appearance in the film.
