A Lifetime movie that’s had a considerable amount of effort put into it is a rarity. The Girl with No Name, directed by Jeff Hare, is just that. It is still a Lifetime movie, though, and it comes with the usual hallmarks of it: corny acting, animated characters, a quick resolution, and a very amateurish plot. New Release: Romantic comedy Bitter/Sweet DVD
Vanguard will release the exotic romantic comedy Bitter/Sweet, starring Kip Pardue and Thai actress Mamee Nakprasit, on DVD on May 24.

Kip Pardue and Mamee Nakprasit fall for each other in the romantic comedy Bitter/Sweet.

The 2009 movie tells the tale of American executive and coffee expert Brian Chandler (Pardue, Stag Night) who is sent to Thailand by his coffee mogul boss (James Brolin, Capricorn One) to inspect a crop for purchase. Upon arrival, Brian meets Bangkok PR executive Ticha (Nakprasit) who takes care of Thailand’s glamorous multi-talented diva Tata Young (played by herself). Though each has a love life of of his or her own, Brian and Ticha’s journey leads them from the cosmopolitan bustle of Bangkok to the picturesque coffee plantations of Krabi and to the slow realization that they were made for each other.

ICG announces shortlists for publicist nods
The publicity teams behind Warner Bros. Pictures' "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," Walt Disney Pictures' "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe," Warner Independent's "Good Night, and Good Luck", Columbia Pictures' "Memoirs of a Geisha" and 20th Century Fox's "Walk the Line" have been nominated for the Maxwell Weinberg Publicist Showmanship Award, which will be handed out at the 43rd annual ICG Publicists Awards in March. ABC leads the showmanship nominees in the television category, with union publicists who worked on the networks' "Grey's Anatomy" and "Lost" grabbing two of the five spots. Other nominees include those who worked on CBS' "Without a Trace", UPN's "Veronica Mars" and NBC's "My Name Is Earl". Nominees for the Les Mason Award, which recognizes a publicist whose work reflects the highest professional standards, are DreamWorks' Sharon Black, Warner Bros.' Jeff Hare, PMK/HBH's Pat Kingsley, independent Tim Menke and Warner Bros.' Mary Hunter.

Lesley Ann Warren and Michael Lerner in When Do We Eat? (2005)
The Palm Beach International Film Festival will launch April 14 with the world premiere of When Do We Eat?, a comedy about a Sedar directed by Salvador Litvak and starring Jack Klugman, Michael Lerner, Ben Feldman and Lesley Ann Warren. The tenth annual festival, which runs through April 21, will screen over 150 films, including 11 world premieres. Led by exec director Hal Axler, the festival will conclude with an awards ceremony and the film Checking Out, directed by Jeff Hare.
