Exclusive: Shudder has picked up rights to the horror film The Unheard in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
Pic puts AMC’s genre streamer back in business with director Jeffrey A. Brown, whose 2019 debut feature The Beach House proved to be one of its buzziest early titles. His latest will stream exclusively on Shudder starting on March 31st.
The Unheard follows 20-year-old Chloe Grayden (Lachlan Watson), who after undergoing an experimental procedure to restore her damaged hearing, begins to suffer from auditory hallucinations seemingly related to the mysterious disappearance of her mother. The script was written by Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen — who previously penned the Paramount alligator horror, Crawl.
The project was developed and produced by Andrew D. Corkin through his Untapped banner that he shares with actor Theo James (White Lotus) who also serves as an EP.

The director of Shudder’s horror movie Spiral, Kurtis David Harder is back with new movie Influencer, and Deadline reports that Shudder has acquired the film for multiple territories.
Influencer will debut on Shudder in Spring 2023.
“Influencer tells the story of Madison (Emily Tennant), a popular social media influencer who is having a lonely and uneventful trip in Thailand despite what she tells her followers on Instagram. While reflecting on her boyfriend canceling the trip, she meets CW (Cassandra Naud), a fearless and enigmatic traveler who offers to take her to some of the most Instagram-worthy locations. Together they share authentic meals and drinks with locals, discussing the differences between Madison’s online presence and CW’s lack of one.
“After showing Madison all of the amazing sights, things take a different turn when CW brings her to a surprise location — a deserted island that is completely off the grid.
