Deadline reported that the series was pulled from the streamer due to viewership hitting "a significant lull over the holidays."

‘The West Wing’ Stars Reunite At Emmys To Encourage People To Vote & Talk About Political Storylines That Would Have Been “Far-Fetched”
Image
The West Wing’s President Bartlet and his staff reunited at the Emmys.

The not-so-secret reunion saw Martin Sheen, Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Janel Moloney and Richard Schiff appear in a replica of the Oval Office before presenting best drama series.

Sheen opened by saying, “From 1999 to 2006 I had the honor of playing the President of the United States on an extraordinary series created by Aaron Sorkin and produced by John Wells.”

“The name of that series was The West Wing, and we all had the honor of serving your administration,” added Hill.

Janney said, “It’s hard to believe that 25 years ago, Aaron and the writers actually had to use their imaginations to create interesting plot lines for The West Wing.”

Schiff replied, “Unlike today, where story lines can be plucked right off the news, storylines that writers would have deemed a bit far-fetched, if not utterly ridiculous 25 years ago.

West Wing Creator Aaron Sorkin Slams Today's Republican Party for Being Unreasonable
Image
The West Wing is widely regarded as one of the best political dramas in history, but creator Aaron Sorkin says that if he made the series today, people wouldnt recognize the "reasonable" Republican Party depicted in the show. Starring such Hollywood heavyweights as Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, Stockard Channing, and John Spencer, The West Wing burst onto television screens in 1999, immediately captivating the nation with its tale of Democratic president Josiah Bartlet, and all the goings-on inside the White House. During the course of its seven-season run, The West Wing managed to amass an impressive 26 Primetime Emmy Awards, and received high praise from political pundits for its realism.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Sorkin was on hand at an event in L.A. to celebrate the release of the upcoming book Whats Next: A Backstage Pass to The West Wing, Its Cast and Crew, and Its Enduring Legacy of Service, and...

BBC ‘Oppenheimer’ Series Returns To IPlayer 40 Years After Launch
Image
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has been grabbing plenty of headlines and dollars this week but the BBC has turned the clocks back to a different retelling, making its classic series available on iPlayer.

The BAFTA-winning series aired on the BBC more than 40 years ago and is available from today as a boxset on the VoD player.

Sam Waterston was the Cillian Murphy of the series, starring as the titular scientist as he led the weapons laboratory of the Manhattan Project, all the while under constant surveillance by the FBI because of his left wing politics and association with communists. As with Nolan’s movie, the show followed his role in developing the world’s first nuclear weapons and his rivalry with Edward Teller, through to being stripped of his security clearance by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission in the 1950s. David Suchet, Kate Harper, John Carson, Christopher Munke and Jana Shelden also starred.

Every Main Character On The West Wing Ranked Worst To Best
Image
Watching "The West Wing" now feels like revisiting a moment in time. Aaron Sorkin's groundbreaking political drama follows President Josiah Bartlet (Martin Sheen) and his senior staff as they strive to make the world a better place during two terms in the nation's highest office. It's an idealistic — some would say naive — depiction of politics that feels like a fantasy in the divided America of today. Airing in the early days of peak TV, the network drama was unique in its verisimilitude, lack of studio interference, and inclusion of characters who looked, felt, and acted like real people.

You'd think that a show about the White House would revolve around its most famous occupant, but Potus is just one of its many compelling characters. In fact, originally, the president wasn't supposed to be on the show at all. Rather, Sorkin's intent was to follow the staffers, assistants, secretaries, and...

The Cast of ‘The West Wing’ Just Reunited for the Best Reason
1999 was a simpler time in politics. We didn’t have Facebook, or people mining for your Facebook info. There were no presidents or vice president threatening to beat each other up. And — perhaps the best part — is that Jed Bartlet was in the Oval Office. At least the fictional Oval Office in one of TV’s best shows of all time, The West Wing! The stars of the beloved political drama have remained tight — and politically active! Several members of the cast — Martin Sheen, Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford, Dulé Hill, Mary McCormack, Janel Maloney, and Jimmy Smits — recently reunited to film a PSA for the organization Let America Vote. In the two-minute video, they urge Americans to take action against the voter suppression policies that will likely affect the upcoming midterm elections. Check out the PSA in the video below! The West Wing Cast Reunites For a Special Candidate
The West Wing is back! Sort of!

Fans will absolutely eat up this video the cast of the classic political drama just released on behalf of Bridget Mary McCormack, who's running on the non-partisan ticket for Michigan's Supreme Court.

If that name sounds familiar, it very much is. Bridget is the sister of Mary McCormack, who played Deputy National Security Advisor Kate Harper on the show, and went on to star on In Plain Sight.

The video features the cast doing the "Walk and Talk" and promoting Bridget, reminding viewers about voting in the nonpartisan section (which only 15 states have apparently) of the Michigan ballot.

Bask nostalgically in West Wing memories, chuckle and learn something below!

How's this for a political ad? Six years after The West Wing went off the air, several castmembers from the series have reunited to recreate their roles for a campaign spot for, no, not Barack Obama or Mitt Romney, but rather a Michigan Supreme Court candidate in a nonpartisan race. Wait, what? Yep. State judicial candidate Bridget McCormack managed to wrangle the likes of Martin Sheen, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford and several others to shoot a video that parodies their political drama. So, how did McCormack pull it off? Well, with a little help from her sister, Mary McCormack, who played security advisor Kate Harper on the program and who also appears in the mini-movie, which was...

'West Wing' cast reunion for Bridget Mary McCormack's Michigan Supreme Court race
For all of us who still haven't accepted that "The West Wing" is off the air. And have worn out the DVDs of several seasons. And sometimes pretend President Bartlet is real ... wait, what? Oh, sorry.

The cast of "The West Wing" has reunited and it feels so good. It all started because Bridget Mary McCormack, the sister of actress Mary McCormack, who played Deputy National Security Adviser Kate Harper on the show's final three seasons, is running for the Michigan Supreme Court.

The "crisis" in this mini "West Wing" episode is that because the Supreme Court races in Michigan are non-partisan, voters who vote straight-ticket end up not voting in the Supreme Court races.

Bridget tells M Live in an interview that it was her sister Mary's idea and it "sort of snowballed and all of sudden Martin Sheen signed up and [Bridget] was like 'Whoa.'"

Bridget also says...
