Arrow Fan-Favorites Reunite for a Wholesome Reason 5 Years After the Show Ended
Image
Arrow premiered in 2012 on The CW, and it was instantly a huge success. Based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, the show ran for eight seasons until Jan. 2020.

The series kicked off the Arrowverse, which led to multiple spinoff shows that often featured crossovers. The original show followed billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who mysteriously disappears in a shipwreck for five years on a secluded island, returning home with a list and a desire for vengeance. Five years after the show's finale, several Arrow fan-favorites reunited for a heartwarming reason that star Colton Haynes shared on Instagram.

The actor, who played aspiring vigilante Roy Harper, shared a photo of himself, Amell, David Ramsley, and Emily Bett Rickards, who played Oliver, John Diggle, and Felicity Smoak, respectively. He also revealed that they reunited to celebrate Haynes' birthday. The...

DC Is Ready to Revive One of the Titan's Most Popular Storylines You'll Remember From TV
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Titans (2023) #18 ahead!

Raven has long been a fan-favorite character across all iterations of the Titans, despite often undergoing significant changes from medium to medium. Now, however, fresh developments suggest that DC is ready to make some elements from the Teen Titans! (2003) animated series canon, bringing more cohesion to Raven's character across various platforms.

Tensions run high in Titans (2023) #18 - written by John Layman, with art by Pete Woods – as the Titans are forced out of their tower in Blüdhaven and must go underground. Raven, normally stoic and controlled, reacts especially poorly to the change, snapping at her teammates in a rage and later being overcome by fear and violence in a firefight.

Beast Boy explains that "[Raven]'s personality was split into different pieces for months on end during the whole Dark-Winged Queen stuff," a plot detail that echoes the plot of the popular Teen Titans! episode, "Nevermore.

10 DC Heroes Who Died But Returned to Tell Their Tale
Image
In the fictional reality of DC Comics, death doesn't have as much permanence as it does in the real world. Plenty of prominent superheroes across the DC Universe have died over the years, but those deaths have a tendency to be reversed one way or another. Whether it's through resurrection in the Lazarus Pit or reboots to the timeline, many Justice League heroes have managed to cheat death.

When a character like Superman dies, readers know that it's simply a matter of time before he makes his triumphant return. Characters who possess inhuman durability on Superman's level aren't the only ones who have conquered death, of course; even heroes who lack tangible superpowers, such as Green Arrow, have successfully navigated resurrection through less obvious means. These 10 formidable superheroes have all died tragically at some point in DC history, only to circumvent their fates and live to tell the story.

“She nuked a whole city”: Stephen Amell’s Arrow and Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer Got Nothing on Another Hated Arrowverse Character’s Kill Count
Image
Phonk music starts playing against the backdrop of Keanu Reeves’ John Wick headshotting people mercilessly in a nightclub when we hear the word “kill count”. Although John Wick is a trained assassin, he still has a lower kill count than one TV character.

Stephen Amell in a still from Arrow | Credits: DC Entertainment

No, it’s not Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen, or Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer, for that matter. The character with a higher kill count than both Queen and Bauer is one of the most hated Arrowverse characters and she… was a lover of Green Arrow.

Felicity Smoak Has a Higher Kill Count Than Stephen Amell’s Arrow!

It started with a CW show with Stephen Amell portraying the lead role of Oliver Queen in a show called Arrow. The show received worldwide fame and managed to keep the network afloat until things became stable.

Its been quite some time since fans have seen Starfires villainous sister, Blackfire, in comics. Thats why her blink-and-you-miss-it return in the ongoing Titans series is more than welcomeespecially since shes sporting one of her best costumes to date. If this cameo proves anything, its that Blackfire is long overdue for a proper Titans comeback.

Everything That Happened Between Young Justice Seasons 1 & 2
Image
The time skip between seasons 1 and 2 of Young Justice can be quite impenetrable to new viewers, as retroactively figuring out what happened during this time is no easy task. After a strong season 1, Young Justice made the controversial decision to skip ahead in time by five years, going from New Year's Eve on 2011 to 2016 at the start of season 2. While reasons behind Young Justice's season 2 time skip may have been sound, the series would go on to never make such a dramatic leap forward in chronology ever again, and for good reason.

There is a lot about the five years between seasons 1 and 2 of Young Justice that is only slowly addressed in time over the course of the second season, retroactively explained via flashback or exposition. Some events in this time period are also unique to tie-in material, such as comics or the video game Young Justice: Legacy. Between political developments,...

“I was pissed when they killed off Captain Cold”: CW Made Things Worse For Itself by Making an Unforgivable Mistake With Heatwave in The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow
Image
Throughout its run, the Arrowverse amounted to a total of 699 episodes, which aired across 37 seasons of television, ranging from good to bad and sometimes ugly in terms of quality. Similar was the case with the superhero suits, as while we had some gems with Deathstroke and Flash’s outfits, there were also a healthy number of suits, which didn’t translate well onscreen.

I'm Not Ready for the Teen Titans to Relive Their Worst Moments of All Time - But DC Is Making It Happen

The Teen Titans are one of DC's most powerful teams, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Justice League. When the League is off-planet or unavailable, it's the Titans who step in to save the world. While their adventures as youngsters were often light-hearted, they've also been through their share of trauma, and now I'm afraid they're going to be forced to relive all of it.

As DC moves into the All In initiative, it seems that life is better than it's ever been for everyone on Earth - except for the Titans. The Most Disappointing Arrowverse Heroes
Image
The Arrowverse had many great superheroes yet failed to deliver truly compelling stories for some major DC superheroes. The Arrowverse prided itself on bringing in more obscure heroes that had fewer expectations. It allowed certain heroes the time and space to develop away from the restrictions of being a well-known character with a deep comic book history.

Every Arrowverse superhero had the potential to be great, but not every hero was given the respect they deserved. Many were written out of the Arrowverse way too quickly, while others had time but never developed into a standout superhero. Others, like Supergirl, were able to establish a new legacy, influencing future iterations of the character, as seen by Supergirl featuring in The Flash movie.

Image
DC fans are currently looking forward to the slew of projects that are set to kickstart James Gunn’s Dcu, and Teen Titans is close to the top when it comes to the most hotly-anticipated projects. Currently set to be in the ideation process, recent updates have revealed that instead of focusing on the team featuring the likes of Robin, Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg, the movie is set to be based on an earlier roster of the Teen Titans, as seen in the comics.

That, in itself, not only sets up one major part of the Dcu’s future, but also potentially gives an update to one major character that has been featured in DC live-action previously, in the form of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman/Diana Prince. Early rosters of Teen Titans, which was created in the comics back in 1964, featured Dianna Troy as Wonder Girl, Prince...

10 TV Show Storylines Ruined By Actors Exits

TV shows heavily rely on core actors to drive compelling storylines, creating a big impact. Unexpected actor departures can lead to odd plot twists, with shows often declining afterward. Lead characters' exits can disrupt narrative arcs, but other plots may keep the story moving.

TV shows rely on strong characters to carry the story and keep the audience engaged, but when the actors drop out, the stories suffer. Most TV shows revolve around a central star or core cast that moves the story along. Regardless of how big or small a series is, these actors have a huge impact on driving storylines, undergoing a character arc of change, and creating compelling narratives.

Young Justice: Who are Will, Jim & Roy Harper - and How to Tell Them Apart

The intricate storylines and character relationships in Young Justice set it apart from other superhero cartoons. Roy, Will, and Jim Harper share a complex genetic origin story in Young Justice, diverging from their comic book counterparts. Young Justice remixes source material, creating unique character arcs like Roy Harper's clone conspiracy.

The maturity and complexity of the storylines in Young Justice were features that first differentiated it from many superhero cartoons and likely why so many fans fought ardently for its return following season 2. DC's New 52 Continuity Problems Actually Make Perfect Drama in 1 Justice League Story

Reboots like the New 52 have drastically affected character histories, like Roy Harper's interactions with his daughter. DC Comicshas become notorious for its absurdly messy continuity over the past few decades, which has made learning about character history especially within the Justice League an especially daunting task. Why A Dcu Teen Titans Movie Beating Justice League's Reboot Is Secretly Very Smart
Image
Releasing a Teen Titans movie first in the Dcu allows the universe to build and grow at its own pace - avoiding past Justice League mistakes. The Teen Titans' various ties and relationships can set up wider Dcu connections and can tee up upcoming projects. The Titans have taken over for the Justice League in current comics, depicted as an older team that the Dcu could also emulate.

Having a live-action Teen Titans movie before a Justice League feature in the Dcu is secretly a genius move (in more ways than one). Confirmed to be in development, DC Studios' rebooted DC Cinematic Universe will soon include a movie starring one of the most classic superhero teams beyond the Justice League. A group of younger heroes who were once the sidekicks to some of the DC Universe's heaviest hitters, there are several key advantages to debuting the Titans on-screen before the League.

How Arrow Season 1 Made the Arrowverse DC's Greatest Success
Image
The Arrowverse was an impressive multi-series continuity based on DC Comics' characters that shouldn't have worked. Arrow Season 1 proved why it could with the stories it told before there was a wider universe to round out its storytelling. Yet, DC's greatest success at building a shared universe of live-action heroes thus far was the Arrowverse, a suite of series which aired on The CW from 2012 to 2023. Despite originally being billed as a grounded, reality-based series, all the elements that made it a success can be found in Arrow Season 1.

The CW was notorious for its low-budget approach to television production, yet even with these limitations the Arrowverse outshined even the DC Extended Universe. The special effects were TV quality,...

Roy Harper Is the Only Useful Member of Team Arrow

The CW's Arrowverse began with a single hero who, let's face it, wasn't entirely heroic. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) starts his journey as a vigilante murdering for a personal vendetta before her evolves into the hero everyone remembers. Along the way, Oliver inspires many other heroes, creating Team Arrow and, later, the Justice League. But over Arrow's eight seasons, Team Arrow grew to a ridiculous size, including heroes such as Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), John Diggle (David Ramsey), Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy), Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez), and several more. These characters have a wide range of skills, but none come close to matching Oliver. The size of the team pulls focus from the main character, and despite the many members, Oliver continues to carry the team as they rarely provide a substantial contribution. Yet one other...

The Teen Titans have been a part of the DC Universe for decades in the comics, but they weren't always well-known by mainstream audiences. In fact, they were relatively obscure to the average fan for the majority of their existence. That finally changed with one cartoon, which is still influencing the property to this day.

The 2003 Teen Titans cartoon was the team's first truly mainstream push, and it turned them into household names for a generation. While Robin may have been very recognizable, the other members of the group most certainly weren't. Now, they're as synonymous with DC as Superman and Batman, and it's all thanks to a very anime-inspired cartoon.
