Fubar has been canceled after two seasons, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

News of the show’s cancellation arrived Friday night after its streaming ratings notably declined between season premieres. After debuting on Netflix at No.1 on Nielsen’s streaming charts during its premiere week two years ago in May 22-28 with 1.53 billion minutes of viewing, season two accumulated 412 million viewing minutes this year during the week of June 9-15.

In total, Fubar’s minutes of viewing declined by 73 percent from season one to two. During its premiere week, the series landed at No. 8 among Netflix’s original shows for its second season.

The series was a hit for the streamer in Season 1, back in 2023, but failed to perform as well during its second season, which premiered on June 12 — more than two years after its initial run. The show managed to make Nielsen’s streaming originals top 10 for the week of June 16, after its premiere, but then fell off the chart the following week.

Exclusive: Netflix is not proceeding with a third season of Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s spy action series Fubar. The decision comes about a month and a half after Season 2 launched on the platform on June 12.

It follows a surprisingly soft return for the series, which, likely fueled by Schwarzenegger’s global star power, had a strong debut in May 2023 and also stars Monica Barbaro who became an Oscar nominee between Seasons 1 and 2 for A Complete Unknown.

With Season 2 released more than two years after Season 1 dropped, Fubar barely made Netflix’s Top 10 for English-language series in its first week, landing in the last spot with 2.2M views from Thursday through Sunday, down from about 11M views for the show’s Season 1 premiere weekend. Review: Two years ago, the first season of Fubar debuted to middling reviews, mine included. Fans seemed to enjoy seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger back in comedy mode while delivering some action alongside the jokes. Still, the effort was another generic offering that fell far below the bar of Arnold’s better efforts. With Netflix cancelling The Recruit while renewing The Night Agent, the streaming platform’s focus on quality over star power may bode poorly for Fubar, which has not changed much since season one.

After the events of the season 1 finale, Fubar season 2, which premiered on Netflix on Thursday, June 12, begins with the ragtag team of CIA agents and their families holing up in a safehouse.

The Arnold Schwarzenegger-led action comedy series was picked up for another season all the way back in June 2023, shortly after the first season premiered.

Netflix is teasing Arnold vs Carrie-Anne Moss, who joins the cast this season, with twice the spies, twice the action and twice the Fubar!

Arnold said he'll be back, and he meant it! Fubar season 2 starring the man, the myth, the legend, and Patrick's dad Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming to Netflix this summer.

According to a report from Tudum, Fubar season 2 premieres on Netflix on Thursday, June 12! That's a little bit earlier than I was planning to see the new season of the series, but hey, we'll definitely take it!

As you'll see in the images, we have all the main cast of Fubar season 1 returning, including Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro. Carrie-Anne Moss also joins the cast of season 2 as Greta Nelso, Luke's ex-wife and Emma's mom.

Netflix’s Fubar is making double trouble for its second season by adding Carrie-Anne Moss to the cast. Created by Nick Santora, Fubar shows what happens when a father and daughter discover their relationship is a lie and they are each CIA operatives. As the two join forces, the series depicts themes of family dynamics with humor, action, and spies. Today’s Fubar update includes the first photos of Schwarzenegger and Carrie-Anne Moss, who joins the Terminator actor for Season 2.

Netflix’s Fubar offers a hilarious look at Schwarzenegger – who is 77 years old – getting back to his action roots. While Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick) does most of the heavy lifting in the hand-to-hand department, Arnold still displays his chops while dispatching goons like a pro. There’s also plenty of humor throughout the series, with the daddy/daughter duo bickering about poor life choices and co-workers razzing Schwarzenegger about his relationship aspirations.

In 2023, Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the action comedy Fubar. The series was renewed for Season 2, which has added a new lead actor, and set a release date.

Fubar Season 2 started production in late May 2024, as the show set a new world record: the biggest action figure ever. The actor promised he'll "be back" as Luke Brunner, and that is closer than ever. Netflix confirmedFUBAR Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on June 12.

Following the renewal announcement, creator Nick Santora promised: "Season 2 is bananas. We’re coming up with some real fun surprises for Fubar fans in Season 2, for sure."

It was also previously revealed that Carrie-Anne Moss joined Fubar Season 2. The actress plays Greta Nelso, a former German spy with a strong history with the CIA, and also Luke's ex.

"They are icons," Santora praised Moss and Schwarzenegger. "They know how to do action, be funny, and create full and engaging characters.
