Joe Harris was a top advertising illustrator who created the Trix rabbit and other familiar characters. Leaving the Dancer Fitzgerald Sample ad agency, Joe Harris went on to collect a six-figure salary during the 1960s while storyboarding "Underdog" and other Total Television cartoons. He commented, "We had no idea what an incredible job it was going to be. I learned self-hypnosis and how to survive on three hours of sleep a night. Actually, I should probably admit that after about six to eight months of that, I began to talk to vegetables and shiny objects." His character designs and storyboards were shipped to Gamma Studios (Mexico) for final animation. When Total Television folded in 1969, Harris returned to advertising work. He later retired in Norwalk, Connecticut.
