- Al Harrington was born on December 12, 1935 in Pago Pago, Western Samoa. He was an actor, known for Forrest Gump (1994), Hawaii Five-0 (2010) and Jake and the Fatman (1987). He was married to Rosa. He died on September 21, 2021 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.

- In 2011 he became the only cast member from the original Hawaii Five-O (1968) to appear in the new version of the series, Hawaii Five-0 (2010). With the death of James MacArthur in 2010, he became the last surviving male member of the "Five-0" squad from the early part of the series before his death in 2021.
- Used the name Alvin Ta'a in his freshman year in high school. Changed his surname to Harrington during his sophomore year (1952), after his stepfather, Roy Milbur Harrington.
- He died the same day as his Ua ho'i ka 'opua i Awalua (2017) co-star Willie Garson: September 21, 2021.
- Up until his death in September 2021, Harrington was the last surviving male cast member from the original Hawaii Five-O (1968), leaving Sharon Farrell (who only joined the show's final season) being the last surviving main cast member from the original Five-0 overall. As of July 2023, she's still living.
