This “Masterpiece” Monster Movie is Swallowing Netflix Audiences Whole
Image
If you know me even a little bit, you’ll know I love a big, goofy monster movie. I probably rented Patricia Harrington’s Razortooth a dozen times growing up. I recently snagged Godzilla vs. Biollante during the Criterion sale. Wanna guess how many films in the ongoing dino-something versus mega-something series I’ve seen? Almost all of them. If it’s a creature feature, I’m there, whether that’s classics of the genre (check out my ode to Piranha) or the newer, bigger takes.

It’s a shame the horror genre broadly seems to be shifting away from the simple sensibilities of a giant monster mowing down folk who stumble into its domain. Those movies used to be everywhere, though in recent years, as budgets have tightened and high-concept horror reigns supreme, we’ve seen fewer and fewer big-budget schlock fests. Luckily, a classic of the subgenre is currently streaming on Netflix,...

First Look At Colm Feore Western ‘Six Days To Die’; Acquisitions By Bungalow, Freestyle, Gravitas & Deskpop; ‘Arctic Void’ Trailer; More – Film Briefs
Image
Exclusive: Deadline has your first look at Six Days to Die, the second film in a sci-fi western trilogy series by Matt Campagna, which he wrote, directed, shot and edited.

The film brought to life through virtual environments, comprised of elaborate 360-degree digital matte paintings, centers on a desperate gambler wrongfully accused of murder who flees through a post-apocalyptic frontier, with a vengeful Marshal doggedly hunting him down, on a bloody quest to bring order to the chaos.

The Umbrella Academy’s Colm Feore stars alongside Darryl Hinds, Melissa D’Agostino, Ari Millen and Kyra Harper. Breann Smordin and Elizabeth Frase produced the pic, which is eyeing a festival premiere next year, and is being sold worldwide by Forward Motion Entertainment. The third film in the trilogy series, Six Guns For Hire, is currently in post-production.

Check out the first still from Campagna’s latest, along with several character portraits, below.

Patricia Harrington's 'Razortooth' on DVD June 2nd!
This is just a friendly reminder that killer eel horror movie Razortooth, directed by Patricia Harrington (Producer of The Devil's Rejects), will hit store shelves on June 2nd, 2009. Deep in the Florida Everglades, something is alive that should have died a long time ago. Something is feeding when it should be full. Something is moving in ways that seem all but impossible. It's moving in the dark, under the surface of the waters, with an appetite that makes no distinction between man and beast. Now it's up to an unlikely band of locals, an animal control officer, a small town sheriff and a scientist's team of college youth to stop the threat - before it's too late...

Lionsgate Unleashes Razortooth
On June 2nd, Lionsgate will present the DVD debut of Razortooth . Yes... Razortooth ! Not to be confused with 2005's Razorteeth ! Touting that it's coming to us "from the producer of The Devil's Rejects " (in this case Mike Elliot), this creature feature was directed by Patricia Harrington. Here's the plot crunch: Deep in the Florida Everglades, something is alive that should have died a long time ago. Something is feeding when it should be full. Something is moving in ways that seem all but impossible. It's moving in the dark, under the surface of the waters, with an appetite that makes no distinction between man and beast.
